Flogging Molly cancels 2025 tour due to singer Dave King's 'serious health condition'
Flogging Molly is canceling over 30 performances scheduled for North America and Europe this year due to lead singer Dave King's "very serious health condition."
"To our family, friends and fans, our fearless leader, the inimitable Dave King, is currently battling a very serious health condition. Dave and Bridget ask everyone to respect their privacy at this time, we will share as we can," the Celtic punk band announced on its social media channels Wednesday. "Any good thoughts or prayers you can send Dave's way, he and we would appreciate it."
"Unfortunately Flogging Molly will be unable to perform shows in 2025," the statement continued.
However, other band members will still partake in Flogging Molly's Salty Dog Cruise, scheduled to set sail from Miami Feb. 17 and journey to the Cayman Islands and Jamaica over the course of the week. The six-day cruise will serve as a celebration of "our captain, Dave King."
"With the Salty Dog Cruise 12 days away, the boat will sail as planned with 18 bands, and members of Flogging Molly, on board to celebrate the cruise, the community and our captain, Dave King," the post reads.
The group was scheduled to kick off its Road to Rebellion Tour, with special guests The Aggrolites and Slaughterhouse, on Feb. 24 in St. Petersburg, Florida. Tour stops were planned for Richmond, Virginia; Houston; Albuquerque; Las Vegas and Los Angeles.
In June, they were to journey to Europe, where headline shows and festival appearances were scheduled for Austria, France, Germany and the Netherlands, among other countries.
They were also scheduled to appear at Rock La Cauze in Québec on Aug. 8.
Supporting act The Aggrolites sent their well wishes after Flogging Molly's announcement and wrote in a Wednesday Instagram post: "Out hearts to out to our family in Flogging Molly. It has just been announced that their fearless leader, the inimitable Dave King, is currently battling a very serious health condition. Please send Dave and the whole Flogging Molly family your good thoughts and prayers."

Joaquin Phoenix Apologizes For Letterman Interview

Joaquin Phoenix apologized for his 2009 Late Show with Dave Letterman interview, because why not. In yonder late '00s, Joaquin appeared on the talk show to talk about his 2008 movie Two Lovers and his purported pivot from acting to rap. Seemingly confused, he mumbled his way through the interview, leading some to conclude that he'd had some kind of mental breakdown. Some noted at the time that Joaquin's older brother, River, had died from a drug overdose. After a string of similarly confounding appearances, it was finally revealed that Joaquin was actually in character for the 2010 mockumentary I'm Still Here. "You've interviewed many, many people and I assumed that you would know the difference between a character and a real person," he told Letterman the following year. "I apologize. I hope I didn't offend you in any way." Anyway, last night, Joaquin returned to The Late Show for the first time since the whole debacle — and it didn't take long for Stephen Colbert to bring up the incident. When Stephen asked how long Jaoquin stayed "in character," he replied, "We shot for over a year. I did not anticipate as part of the promotion for a film that I had made, I was coming on this show. And so I was stuck." As for whether people would ever get "mad" or "misunderstand" the bit, Joaquin replied, "That was part of it. I mean, that was the intention. That's what we wanted. When I came on the show with Dave, I originally did the pre-interview in character, and I realized that it was a little silly. So, I called them back and I said, 'Listen, this is what I'm doing. I'm telling you, I'm coming out here and I'm doing this whole thing, and I just want Dave to lacerate me.'" "I just wanted to be really dangerous," he continued. "That was the intention, right? We just always wanted to get this reaction and see how I would respond to that. So, it was beneficial for no one to know, except when needed. It was horrible. It was so uncomfortable. I regret it. I'll never do it again. I'm so was a success, and it was also just one of the worst nights of my life." You can watch the full interview with Joaquin here.

Translations may contain inaccuracies—please refer to the original content. Shedeur Sanders is currently gearing up for his first NFL training and preseason. He is also currently involved in a four-man quarterback battle to become the Cleveland Browns' starting quarterback in Week 1 of the 2025 NFL season. After going through a brutal slide in the 2025 NFL Draft, Sanders was selected by the Browns in the fifth round. He had originally been projected to be a first or second round pick. Despite the draft slide, Sanders has maintained a great attitude. He seems genuinely thankful for the opportunity to play in the NFL and seems excited to be a member of the Cleveland franchise. Over 40 families were displaced due to the fire and five people were hospitalized because of it. Tragically, one man passed away after running back into the building to rescue his stepchildren. Sanders took some time to step up for the victims of the fire recently. While he could have simply donated money to help the people involved, Sanders chose to get active. He took part of the Garden Valley Fun Fest and gave back to the city of Cleveland. "When everything transpired, I was out of town, so I was like, 'Nah, the first thing I do when I get back is definitely come to the community,'" Sanders said. "This is just off an Instagram DM. I didn't really know about the situation; someone told me. I was like 'Dang that's crazy,' and I just wanted a day for everybody to get out here and have some type of enjoyment, excitement, bring just the family atmosphere back." He continued on, making a very strong statement. "Sending money and stuff, that's easy," he said. "But you have to actually go out there and be in the flesh." Some of them painted him out to be a self-centered and arrogant individual. These kinds of gestures paint a different picture of the Browns' rookie quarterback. Cleveland will begin training camp on July 18 when rookies report. Sanders will be a part of that group and will look to work hard to earn playing time during the 2025 season. Megan Thee Stallion Says Klay Thompson Is the Kindest Man She's Ever Dated

THE RUNDOWN Megan Thee Stallion gave her relationship with NBA player Klay Thompson the ultimate hard launch yesterday evening when the pair stepped out at the Pete & Thomas Foundation Gala in New York City. They were affectionate during their red carpet debut, and Megan had sweet things to say about her partner in an interview with Page Six. 'I have never dated somebody so kind,' she said. 'This is my first relationship where I've ever been with somebody who's genuinely a nice person, and he makes me genuinely happy.' She added, 'I just never dated somebody like him before, and I'm just grateful that he's here by my side, and he feels the same way about me.' Megan and Thompson first sparked dating rumors earlier this month, when the basketball star appeared in the background of one of Megan's Instagram posts. Last September, the rapper spoke to Billboard about whether there's a difference between her onstage and offstage selves. 'I feel like Megan and Megan Thee Stallion are the same person,' she said. 'When I'm Megan Thee Stallion, I'm having to wear armor. I definitely got to go onstage and get in that mode, but I'm still the same person. Just when I'm not in public, I can really decompress and slouch, and I could watch anime all I want. I can play with my puppies, I can talk on the phone with my cousin, I could be with my best friends in peace. I don't have to worry about being too strong. I could just be me.'
