Besiktas ‘in talks' to sign Tammy Abraham
ISTANBUL : Turkish giants Besiktas today said they were entering talks to sign English striker Tammy Abraham who is currently under contract with Serie A side AS Roma.
'Negotiations have begun with the player and his club AS Roma SPA regarding the transfer of professional football player Kevin Oghenetega Tamaraebi Bakumo-Abraham,' the Istanbul club said in a statement using his full name.
The 27-year-old currently has a year left of his contract with the Italian club.
Italian media reports said the talks were about a loan.
'Hello Black Eagles, I'm coming for you, see you at the airport,' Abraham said in a video on board the club's private plane that was posted on its Instagram account.
He was expected to arrive in Turkey's largest city later today.
Abraham signed for Serie A club Roma in August 2021 on a five-year contract after a move from Premier League club Chelsea for a fee of €41 million and was an integral member of the side that won the 2022 Europa Conference League trophy.
The former England international recently concluded a stint on loan with Roma's rivals AC Milan for the 2024-25 season, scoring 10 goals in all competitions.

Kyle Walker joins Burnley on two-year deal after Man City exit
ENGLAND right-back Kyle Walker has joined Burnley on a two-year deal after his contract with Manchester City expired in the summer, the newly promoted Premier League club said on Saturday. Former Tottenham Hotspur player Walker joined City in 2017 and has made over 200 league appearances for them. But manager Pep Guardiola revealed in January that Walker had asked to leave the club at the end of the season. Walker, who won six Premier League titles, two FA Cups, the Champions League and the Club World Cup with City, joined AC Milan on loan in January, where he made 11 Serie A appearances. The 35-year-old, who has earned 96 England caps, said he joined Burnley after speaking to their manager Scott Parker, who was his teammate at Spurs. Man City defender Walker joins Burnley
LONDON: England defender Kyle Walker has signed a two-year deal with newly-promoted Premier League club Burnley for a reported fee to Manchester City of £5 million (RM28.8 million). The England international, 35, has made 410 appearances in the Premier League and won the competition six times with City, as well as the Champions League. He spent the second half of the 2024/25 season on loan at Serie A side AC Milan, who did not exercise their right to buy him. Walker's contract at City, whom he joined in 2017, was due to expire at the end of the 2025/26 season. "I'm delighted to be here," the right-back said in a Burnley statement today. "When I spoke to (manager) Scott Parker and heard about his plans for next season, it was an opportunity I jumped at.
