The Repair Shop guest Emma was left in floods of tears as she was reunited with a puppet that her father had given her before he died
A guest on The Repair Shop was left in tears after being reunited with the final gift her late father ever presented to her.

During the opening of the BBC One programme, which featured its Favourite Fixes, the specialists discovered that visitor Emma had brought along a puppet her dad had given her back in the 1970s when she was merely eight-years-old.

Emma revealed about the toy, which she named Billy Willy: "He was a present from my dad. My dad got cancer so my nan thought it would be good for him to go to Scotland to a health farm. He was gone probably a couple of months, which is a long time when you're eight.

"I remember he phoned us and said what did we want as a present when he came back. In the 70s, puppets were all the rage! I just asked for a puppet and I got Billy Willy!".
"I was absolutely thrilled with him. It was the last thing that my dad gave me because he died soon after. We don't have many photographs of dad so this is all I've got of my dad. I've got nothing else.

"That's why he's so special. I don't think I ever really went anywhere without him!", reports Edinburgh Live.
Emma confessed that her children "absolutely hate" the puppet because they find it frightening due to the crack across its face and damaged leg, which explained why it needed restoration at the workshop.
The visitor continued: "I think he'd be over the moon to know that Billy Willy was getting a second chance. And hopefully, you know, grandchildren that he'll never see will get to play with him."

In a heartfelt VT, she added: "It's difficult to understand what happens when you lose a parent and you take it with you all through your life. It's always there!".
Later on, an emotional scene unfolded as Emma was tearfully reunited with her cherished Billy Willy, having been restored to his former glory. Emma, who confessed to never having been separated from him before, expressed her excitement about the reveal.
Overwhelmed with emotion upon the return of Billy Willy, Emma burst into tears, exclaiming: "Oh my God! That's amazing! He looks like when he was new! Oh my God, you [the experts] are amazing! He's still the same, oh it's lush, that is so good! He's brilliant, thank you!".
Reflecting further in a video message, she said: "I think it would mean so much to my dad, maybe when dad bought this for me, he knew that I needed something that was going to make me smile. It definitely makes me smile and cry."
The Repair Shop is available to watch on BBC One and BBC iPlayer.

Line of Duty star's drama that will 'seize your soul' launches on BBC

To view this video please enable JavaScript, and consider upgrading to a web browser that supports HTML5 video Today marks the day that Jimmy McGovern's highly anticipated latest TV project lands on BBC iPlayer. The new one-part drama, Unforgivable, stars Anna Maxwell Martin as Katherine, an ex-nun and therapist who works at an institution called St Maura's. Anna was introduced as DCS Patricia Carmichael in BBC One's crime drama Line of Duty back in 2019, a character known for her passive aggressive and unpleasant demeanour. In Unforgivable, Katherine works alongside lead character Joe (Bobby Schofield) as he finishes his two-year prison sentence after pleading guilty to sexually abusing a family member. Brookside star Anna Friel plays Joe's sister, Anna, who is tackling the aftermath of her family's trauma whilst protecting her two sons. Anna's contact with her inmate brother infuriates her father Brian (David Threlfall), who can't stand the fact that she is in contact with her brother, Joe. The Liverpool-set series also features Adolescence child actor Austin Haynes alongside Phina Oruche, Mark Womack and Fin McPartland in his TV debut. As well as being a best-selling author, screenwriter Jimmy has worked on many shows over the years that tackle social issues and injustice. Over the years, he's worked on Channel 4's Brookside, the docudrama Hillsborough and most recently the Bafta award-winning series Time, starring Sean Bean and Stephen Graham. Speaking to the BBC about his previous work on screen, McGovern said: 'It's got to seize my soul and if it doesn't do that then I won't be able to sit at the computer to write.' A description of Unforgivable reads: 'The Mitchell family deal with the devastating aftermath of an act of sexual abuse committed by a member of their own family who, after two years, is about to leave prison.' When the cast for the series was first confirmed, Jimmy told Radio Times: 'I can't believe the cast and crew that have been assembled for this production. It's a challenging film, yes, but I can't wait for it to be shown.' The release of Unforgivable comes shortly after Netflix added all four episodes of a 'gripping' spy thriller starring another Line of Duty star. Set in 1886, the drama The Secret Agent follows a man called Verloc (Toby Jones), who owns a sex shop in Victorian-era Soho. More Trending On the side, he's an informer for the Russian embassy tasked with spying on revolutionary groups, with Line of Duty icon Vicky McClurer playing his wife, Winnie. To round out the top of the call sheet, Stephen Graham joins them as the police Chief Inspector Heat. Unforgivable is available to stream on BBC iPlayer and airs tonight at 9pm on BBC Two. The soap star went on to have chemotherapy as well as undergoing a left breast mastectomy and a reconstruction. Heather took to Instagram on Thursday to update her fans on her journey, writing: "Final round of 15 radio therapy sessions just completed. "This marked the end of long 9 months of diagnosis, surgery, chemo and radio. "Time to piece myself back together. Thanks for all the beautiful support. #checkyourbreasts #breastcancerawareness". Fans flooded with comments of admiration and support, with one writing: "What an amazing woman. Her sheer will and determination to keep filming whilst battling this awful disease has been unbelievable." Another added: "What a legend, wishing her all the best in her recovery." A third penned: "As someone going through a similar diagnosis, seeing Heather on the other side of treatment is incredibly inspiring." Just as she was about to begin radiotherapy, Heather revealed the heartbreaking news last week that her wife Ellie has also been diagnosed with the disease. She told the Mirror: 'Her breast cancer was a smaller, aggressive lump, so she had a lumpectomy and then radiotherapy. EastEnders' Eve actress Heather Peace shares snaps from her very different job off screen "Of course, then I come along with my 12cm lump, absolutely ginormous, and mastectomy, chemotherapy, just about to go into radiotherapy. "She's like 'Even that you have to do bigger.' It's like 'Hold my beer.'" This comes after the star revealed decided to continue filming for her dramatic wedding scenes just hours after her cancer diagnosis. Her character was embroiled in dramatic scenes, which included her wedding to Suki Panesar as well as being poisoned by Suki's ex-husband Nish Panesar. 5 Revealing why she decided to continue working, she told Gaby Roslin on her podcast that she wanted to film the important scenes because she feared she would die. The former Waterloo Road star expressed: 'We got back to Brighton at 7 o'clock, and I was on the road at 10 past five that morning, to Elstree, to start possibly the two biggest weeks that I've done on EastEnders.' Heather explained that she had told bosses about her diagnosis and was told she didn't need to come in while she was taking in the life-changing news as well as undergoing treatment. 'I said 'I need to come in' because at this point I don't know what's going to happen,' she continued. 'And I want to finish this arc of the story. Not coming in for the next two weeks is not going to change anything, but at least let me put the full stop on a story that's been playing out for nearly two and a half years. 'If we get to the end of that and we see them get married and we see them successful, if beyond that it's a mess, I can leave and feel like I've put a full stop on something." 5 The soap star revealed she has completed 15 rounds of chemo Credit: Instagram

She first graced the show in 2015 and exited in 2019, only to reappear in seasons 10 and 11, and then surprisingly in 2024 when her character stepped out of witness protection. ‌ In an intimate video message to her followers, Josephine shared the reasons behind her initial exit, citing personal and professional grounds while reassuring fans that there was "nothing dramatic" about her decision. I loved every minute of it." ‌ She continued: "I'm going to miss the show, I'm going to miss Toby and Ardal and Shyko and everyone so it's been a tough decision, but that's life." ‌ Josephine, who thought she had left the sandy shores of Saint Marie for good, found herself irresistibly pulled back into the fold, as she confessed to Hello! regarding her season 10 comeback, reports Wales Online. "I already left in series eight, I thought it would be for good, honestly, I thought, 'I'm done,'" she disclosed. "Then they asked me back for series ten as I was like, 'Hmmm I don't know, okay I'm going to do it.' But I knew it wouldn't be forever, I knew it. How long, I didn't know. I had an idea, but I wasn't sure." ‌ However, the third episode of the tenth series, titled Lucky in Love, originally aired in 2021 and will be rebroadcast at 9pm tonight on BBC One. The synopsis of the episode reads: "It seems money doesn't buy happiness when lottery winner Cherry is found dead at her luxurious villa, much to the horror of her husband and their visiting friends." The plot thickens as Neville and his team are faced with a puzzling case: no one was present in the house at the time of the murder, and the victim's body mysteriously disappears. ‌ It continues: "Meanwhile, JP is training unruly new officer Marlon, aware that his wife Rosey is due to give birth at any time." Furthermore, she teased the prospect of joining the spin-off series, Beyond Paradise, revealing that it was a topic she had broached with the producer. "We'll see if that will happen. A Reddit user said, "She's the heart and soul of the show; it's never quite the same without her." Another penned: "I always Hoped she would have a turn being detective after being promoted."
