Australia Clinches Series With Victory In The 2nd Cricket Test Against West Indies
Australia dismissed West Indies for 143 in 34.3 overs on Day 4 to take an unassailable 2–0 lead in the three-test series. On Saturday, half-centuries by Steve Smith and Cameron Green had helped to put Australia back in charge after the visitors lost early wickets in their second innings, at one stage slipping to 28–3. After resuming Sunday at 221–7 – and a lead of 254 runs – Australia was all out for 243, setting West Indies a target of 277 for victory. Shamar Joseph took 4–66.
At 33–4, West Indies' chase was in trouble. The match was over in the afternoon session. Left-arm pace bowler Mitchell Starc returned 3–24 to lead the Australian attack. Captain Roston Chase top-scored for West Indies in the second innings with 34.
A dream start, Australia captain Pat Cummins said the series win happened at a good time for his team, which lost last month to South Africa in the World Test Championship final.
'An away (series) win as well – they're not the easiest to come by – so really pumped with how we've bounced back after Lord's,' Cummins said. 'It's a dream start, two from two gets us into the (new WTC) cycle and we've played some really good cricket.'
Australia won the first test against West Indies by 159 runs in three days. The third test, a day-night match, starts Saturday in Kingston, Jamaica.

Lolesio's Surgery 'Successful' After Unspecified Injury in Wallabies Win Over Fiji
Australia flyhalf Noah Lolesio has had surgery on an unspecified injury sustained in the 21–18 comeback win over Fiji last weekend and has been sidelined ahead of the three-test series against the British and Irish Lions. Rugby Australia issued a statement on Tuesday confirming Lolesio has had successful surgery today. The playmaker was discharged from the hospital on Sunday a day after the game then readmitted after a medical follow-up. The back of his head hit the ground with force during the second half against Fiji in Newcastle north of Sydney. Rugby Australia didn't release details of the injury or the timeframe for Lolesio's recovery. Australian media reported Lolesio underwent spinal surgery. He is expected to make a full recovery and will spend a period of time away from the game during his rehabilitation, Rugby Australia said. Wallabies coach Joe Schmidt said in a statement, 'Firstly, we were relieved that Noah was up and moving well when he returned to the team hotel after his initial hospital visit in Newcastle on Sunday. Further to that, it's an added relief for everyone, especially his family, that successful surgery now has him on the road to recovery.' The first test between Australia and the Lions is on July 19 in Brisbane.

Crusaders Captain David Havili Picked for AUNZ Squad to Face British and Irish Lions
Crusaders Super Rugby title-winning captain David Havili has been selected among the New Zealand contingent for the invitational AUNZ squad to face the British and Irish Lions on Saturday. The full squad of Australians and New Zealanders for Saturday's tour game in Adelaide was confirmed by coach Les Kiss on Monday and will feature a core of players from his Queensland Reds franchise. Halves pairing Kalani Thomas and Harry McLaughlin-Phillips were involved when the Reds lost 52–12 last week in Brisbane after leading the Lions 12–7 early in the first half. This is the first time since 1989 that a combined squad of Australians and New Zealanders will take on the touring Lions lineup, which contains players from Ireland, Scotland, Wales, and England. Havili, Blues hooker Kurt Eklund, and Chiefs prop George Dyer will join All Blacks Aidan Ross, Folau Fakatava, Hoskins Sotutu, Ngani Laumape, and Shannon Frizell in the squad. Marika Koroibete, Pete Samu, Lukhan Salakaia-Loto, Matt Philip, and Seru Uru are experienced Wallabies included in the invitational squad. Kiss will be joined on the coaching team by former All Blacks coach Ian Foster, Western Force coach Simon Cron, and Reds assistant Zane Hilton. 'We have quality coaches and a highly motivated group of players that represent the depth of talent across Australia and New Zealand,' Kiss said. 'Each of them has a lot to play for and there's a real sense of anticipation about the unique opportunity in front of us. As the first AUNZ side to be assembled in 36 years, we have the chance to do something pretty special here in Adelaide.' The Lions are 3–0 since a 28–24 loss to Argentina in a warmup in Dublin before traveling Down Under for their nine-game tour, which includes three tests against the Wallabies on July 19, 26, and Aug. 2. After wins over Western Force in Perth, Queensland Reds in Brisbane, and New South Wales Waratahs in Sydney, the Lions will play the Brumbies in Canberra on Wednesday before taking on the AUNZ squad in their final preparation for the test series. Australia opened its international season with a 21–18 comeback win over Fiji in Newcastle on Sunday, a day after New Zealand held off France 31–27 in Dunedin.
