Sprints organized the second edition of 'TechShift 2025' to emphasize artificial intelligence and innovation
The summit follows the great success of the first edition, aiming to bridge the gap between the needs of businesses and the skills available in the job market, with a focus on developing emerging talents and enhancing the capabilities of recent graduates to compete both locally and internationally.
Wide Participation and Engagement from Tech Leaders
The event saw the attendance of more than 4,000 participants, including university students and recent graduates, along with a group of prominent technology leaders and experts, enriching the discussions and enhancing the role of tech talent in shaping the future of technology globally.
Over 130 Discussions and 50 Workshops
The summit featured more than 130 discussion sessions and 50 workshops, with participation from 150 speakers who are top specialists in the technology sector, including Dr. Ayman Farid – Assistant Minister of Higher Education, and Dr. Heba Saleh – Head of the Information Technology Institute.
The summit also witnessed wide participation from companies and government entities, including the Information Technology Industry Development Agency (ITIDA), which dedicated a booth to showcase its programs supporting students and graduates, in addition to Banque Misr and several leading institutions.
Launch of HiRemoters Platform: New Opportunities for Freelancing in AI.
As part of its efforts to enhance remote work opportunities and empower youth to earn in foreign currency, Engineer Ayman Bazara, the founder and CEO of Sprints, announced the development of the HiRemoters platform, which will provide opportunities for Egyptian tech talents to work in multiple international markets. Bazara explained that the platform will offer applicants a comprehensive assessment phase, followed by intensive training programs to ensure their readiness to work with global companies.

Brazil's left-wing President Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva will have to navigate the absence of Chinese President Xi Jinping, who will miss the summit for the first time. Beijing will instead be represented by Premier Li Qiang. Russian President Vladimir Putin, who is facing a pending International Criminal Court (ICC) arrest warrant, will not travel to Brazil, but is set to participate via video link, according to the Kremlin. Iran's President Masoud Pezeshkian, fresh from a 12-day conflict with Israel and a skirmish with the United States, will also be absent, as will his Egyptian counterpart Abdel Fattah Al-Sisi, a Brazilian government source told reporters. Tensions in the Middle East, including Israel's ongoing war in Gaza, will weigh on the summit, as well as the grim anticipation of tariffs threatened by Trump and due next week. Trump said that starting Friday, his administration would send countries letters stating their tariff levels, as negotiations to avoid higher US levies enter the final stretch. 'We're anticipating a summit with a cautious tone: it will be difficult to mention the United States by name in the final declaration,' Marta Fernandez, director of the BRICS Policy Center at Rio's Pontifical Catholic University, told AFP. Indian Businesses top list of nationalities of new companies joining Dubai Chamber of Commerce during Q1 2025
A new analysis by Dubai Chamber of Commerce, one of the three chambers operating under the umbrella of Dubai Chambers, has revealed that Indian-owned businesses topped the list of non-Emirati companies joining the chamber in Q1 2025. A total of 4,543 new members from India joined during the three-month period, representing year-over-year (YoY) growth of 4.4% and underlining the vital economic role played by Indian companies as Dubai's largest foreign business community. Pakistan followed in second place, with 2,154 new companies registering as members of the chamber during the first quarter of the year. 1,362 new Egyptian companies joined the chamber, placing the country third among the top nationalities of new member companies. The number of new companies from Bangladesh achieved significant year-over-year growth of 28.5%, with 817 new companies registering as members of the chamber. The United Kingdom ranked fifth with 678 new companies, while Syria secured sixth place on the list with 462 new member companies. Companies from Jordan claimed the seventh spot, with 350 new companies joining the chamber's membership. China ranked eighth on the list, with 347 new Chinese companies registering as members of the chamber. Türkiye secured the ninth spot with 329 new members, while Iraq came tenth with 303 new companies. In terms of the sectoral distribution of new member companies joining the chamber during Q1 2025, the wholesale and retail trade sector ranked first, accounting for 36.2% of new registrations. The real estate, renting, and business services sector came in second place, representing 35.4% of the total. This was followed by the construction sector in third place at 16.7%, and the social and personal services sector, which ranked fourth with 7.7%.
