His funeral set off from Beirut's Hamra Street as his body made its way while surrounded by fans who held flowers, cheered, and raised Lebanese flags to bid the music legend farewell. As the son of Fairouz, who is dubbed "The Cedar of Lebanon" for being one of the most influential singers of the Arab world, Rahbani composed several songs for his mother.
At the age of 17, Ziad Rahbani composed his first song for Fairouz and appeared for the first time on stage as a detective in a play called "Al Mahatta." His most notable works for Fairouz include "Sa'aloni al-Nas," "Kifak Anta," and "Adiy."
