Prince Harry says 'it breaks my heart' after solo journey without Meghan
Prince Harry's recent solo trip to Africa has led to him issuing a statement about his heartbreak on his official website.
The Duke of Sussex jetted to Angola last week to visit a minefield, following in the footsteps of his mother Princess Diana, who made her own famous visit to the previously wartorn state 28 tears ago.
Harry is not patron of Scots landmine clearance charity The Halo Trust, like Diana, and has spoken out about the challenges faced by Angolan youngsters living near to the largest minefield in Africa.
The Duke and Duchess of Sussex's official site has been updated to include his comments about the visit to the remote villages of Cuito Cuanavale and Mawano. Harry said: 'As a father to young children, it breaks my heart to see innocent children still living and playing next to minefields.
"All of us have a duty to protect children and future generations from the harms of war, both present and past."
He went on: "I urge all donors to stand with Angola in fighting the job. This is not just about landmines, it's about healing the last wounds of war and giving future generations the peace they deserve."
Harry described his visit as honouring his mother's "powerful legacy" and for her work which brought "global attention" to landmine sites and the fatal challenges they posed to people.
The Mirror reports an estimated 60,000 people have been killed or injured by landmines in Angola since 2008. The Halo Trust has stated it has cleared more than 120,000 landmines and 100,000 bombs from the country but in the past five years, the devices have killed at least 80 Angolans and more than 1,000 active minefields remain.
Diana was filmed in 1997, in footage that would become famous across the globe, as she walked through a minefield being cleared by the trust in the country, wearing a visor and vest for protection. Just months later, she would die in a car crash in Paris.
The Mirror reports Harry's solo jaunt to Africa came days after it was revealed that top aides for him and his father the King have met in London, with rumours now swirling that it was the first steps in a reconciliation between the pair.
Harry claimed in a BBC interview earlier this year that he was no longer on speaking terms with the monarch following a raft of high profile allegations against the Royal Family.
In his 2023 memoir Spare, he alleged that he'd been physically attacked by brother William, that the King was jealous of Meghan, and that he put his own interests above Harry's.

Channel 4 viewers 'sick to their stomachs' over One Day in Southport documentary
Viewers have been left angry and horrified after tuning into Channel 4's new documentary which explores the mass stabbing at a Taylor Swift-themed dance workshop in Southport that triggered an explosion of mob violence Channel 4 's powerful new documentary One Day in Southport, which examines the harrowing events of 29 July 2024 and the horror that followed, had a deep impact on viewers tonight. The film focuses on one young survivor and her family, shedding light on how tragedy, misinformation, and extremism collided in modern Britain. Featuring interviews with witnesses, relatives, and community members, the documentary paints a stark picture of the horrifying event. The programme centres on the deadly stabbing attack carried out by 17-year-old Axel Rudakubana during a Taylor Swift-themed dance class at the Hart Space community centre in Southport. Three young girls, Bebe King (6), Elsie Dot Stancombe (7), and Alice da Silva Aguiar (9), were all killed in the brutal stabbings. Ten more people, including eight children, were also injured. Rudakubana, who was arrested at the scene, later pleaded guilty and was sentenced to life in prison with a minimum of 52 years. In the aftermath, false rumours circulated online accusing a Muslim asylum seeker of the crime. The misinformation sparked riots in 27 towns, leading to violent attacks on mosques and migrant homes. One Day in Southport which explores not only the personal grief but also the wider social consequences had an instant impact on viewers who tuned into the Channel 4 documentary tonight. Taking to X after watching the chilling stories of the victims unfold, viewers shared their heartbreak. "I am truly sick to my stomach watching this. How did this happen to such innocent little babies? Bawling my eyes out and thinking of their poor families," one viewer shared. Another echoed: "God, this is such a hard watch, but so important too." Another Channel 4 viewer typed: "Those poor little girls must have been terrified. To think they had their whole lives ahead of them. Such a powerful documentary. Fair play to Channel 4." "So heartbroken watching this. Tears streaming down to the ground omg," someone else shared. While another viewer voiced: "It just shows how unsafe the UK has become. Nobody is safe. Not even innocent little girls." The documentary also focused on the riots that took place in Middlesbrough on August 4, 2024. It had initially been scheduled to be a peaceful protest in light of the fatal Southport stabbings, which turned into riots, which were fuelled by anti-Islamophobic and racist misinformation around the killer's identity. Over 1,000 people attended the riot, which saw some smash shop windows, attack homes, and burn cars. Wesley Winter, who contributes to the documentary, shared his experience with The Mirror ahead of the release of One Day in Southport. "We saw a car get burnt down. For me, the most shocking thing was that there was a car trying to get through and people were saying, 'If you're not white, you can't go through,'" says Wesley, who is half Korean. "That was really tinteresting o see because Middlesbrough was quite a diverse area. "It did seem like it was an excuse for just anyone to break houses and smash windows and target anyone and everyone. It was unfair." For Wesley's wife, Cailin - a Chinese national - the experience proved to be traumatic. While waiting in their car for Wesley to film, she was surrounded by masked rioters who began attacking the vehicle. "They were like monkeys, yelling, shouting, and jumping around, jumping on the car one by one," she says. "They kicked the windows, smashed the windows, and celebrated. I realised that they didn't fear anything." The incident has deeply affected Cailin. "It was really traumatic because she's not familiar with England that much. Now when she goes to the high street, if people are riding on bikes with masks on, it's traumatic for her," he says. The police arrested 43 people in connection with the violence in Middlesbrough. Wesley thinks that the government could have stepped in sooner to stop the damage from happening. "There was a lot of damage control that could have been done from the government. There was a lack of information at the time around who the attacker was," he says. "There was so much speculation about who he was and I know there are laws around it but for this particular case, I think there should have been more information to reduce the risk. "People wanted to funnel their anger somewhere and they just chose the streets. It was really unfortunate." One Day in Southport is available to stream on Channel 4.

Harry Styles sends fans into a frenzy after releasing X-rated new product line
It's been a while since Harry Styles ' fans have heard from the popstar. While most would assume that this means he's been working tirelessly on music, it turns out that the star is trying out an entirely different venture: sex toys. On July 24, the popstar's unisex lifestyle brand Pleasing dropped two sexual wellness products. The products include The Pleasing Double-Sided Vibrator ($68) and The Pleasing Lube ($25). These new offerings are being paired with a pop-up experience. 'Come explore our three-day pop-up in New York City where your journey begins with a moment to yourself before discovering the new collection, alongside Pleasing bestsellers and a few special surprises,' the Pleasing site reads. 'No small talk here, Pleasing Yourself favors presence over performance.' The new drop was promoted in a series of three ads: two posted yesterday before it was confirmed that he was dropping sex toys, and then one on the day of the drop. But fans were speculating from the first ad that Harry was thinking of releasing a sexual wellness line. Prior to this, Pleasing was selling products including fragrance, makeup, nail polish, and apparel. The first video shows a glass of milk being slammed down onto a table, and someone using Morse code to send a message (no one has been able to decipher it yet, with some fans even saying it's a gibberish message). Harry reposted this video onto his stories, his first upload in quite some time. The next ad shows a series of phones ringing and vibrating, and Harry's hands finally reach out to pick up a phone. In the newest ad, Harry writes down 'Please yourself like you mean it' on a diner-style check and then reads the same line aloud. And fans have been sent into a frenzy as a result - with many shocked that he has released an X-rated line before new music. 'I can't believe we live in a world where Harry Styles is dropping sex toys before HS4,' one X (formerly Twitter) user said, alluding to the unreleased date for Harry's fourth album - if there is one. 'Harry Styles doing everything but going to the damn studio,' another said. But most of all, fans were just excited to hear Harry's voice again after the star's lengthy pause from the limelight. 'I haven't heard Harry's voice in so long this healed me,' one fan commented on the ad. There are no official launch dates for the sexual wellness products.

Love Island star 'threatens to quit show after reaching emotional breaking point'
Love Island star Shakira Khan reportedly threatened to quit the ITV2 dating show after reaching breaking point in scenes that are yet to air on TV Love Island beauty Shakira Khan has reportedly threatened to quit the ITV2 dating programme in footage that's yet to be aired. The 22 year old hasn't exactly had a smooth ride in the villa so far, with the reality star finding it tough with ex Harry Cooksley being in the villa. Earlier this week, viewers expressed their worry for Shakira after she looked "exhausted", having admitted to pal Toni Laites that lingering emotions remained with Harry despite being partnered with Conor Phillips. She later called time on her relationship with Conor, explaining to him that she couldn't provide him with "what he needs." Reports now suggest that Shakira considered abandoning the programme due to the drama surrounding Harry, the Mirror reports. Speaking to The Sun, a source stated: "Shakira has been through the wringer and was already at breaking point over her heartbreak by Harry." "When Harry made it exclusive with Helena, everything unravelled and she realised she wasn't ready to be with Conor properly. She did the brave thing by ending that, but then the floodgates opened and she just didn't want to be in the villa anymore." They continued, explaining that Shakira visited the Beach Hut and asked to leave the villa, with the welfare team supporting her "through her emotions." Afterwards, she decided to stay. Despite Shakira's turbulent journey in the villa so far, countless fans have taken to social media to praise how "mature" she's been throughout her love triangle chaos. "Shakira is the most respect, self aware, mature person in love island history, never mind the fact that she's only 22 #loveisland #loveislanduk," one fan stated. Another posted: "Shakira is so real that she's willing to leave the villa without a man or winning instead of faking it with Conor till the end, if anything we can be proud of her for staying true herself but damn Harry?!? #LoveIslanduk #LoveIsland." Earlier this week, Harry decided to take his relationship with Helena to the next stage, becoming exclusive with his fellow Islander. This was despite Harry offering a shoulder for Shakira to cry on after she decided to end things with Conor. Tonight's episode will see Shakira confiding in Harry about her emotions, with Harry responding: "I can read between the lines a little bit, but I don't really know exactly what you're thinking." Shakira then reveals that she still felt "very strongly" towards him and was unsure on how to deal with the situation. "I just don't think that I really dealt with the situation how I should have dealt with it and maybe haven't processed things properly, and you and Helena being exclusive may have resurfaced things," she confessed. Harry further tells Shakira that although it appears he has moved on, their relationship wasn't "one sided." He adds: "You'll probably disagree, but I felt it and like I say I haven't processed it and have tried to just get on with things." He then has a conversation with Helena about his chat with Shakira, with Helena posing the question: "Does that change anything for you?" ITV has several duty of care protocols in place, with Islanders undergoing training prior to entering the villa concerning language, behaviour and understanding mutual respect in relationships.
