NFL quarterback Tommy DeVito goes viral for living with his mom—who still cook, clean, and make his bed

Time of India26-06-2025
Tommy DeVito goes viral for staying with his parents despite $1M NFL salary.NFL rookie quarterback Tommy DeVito is officially living the dream, he's making $1 million this season, he's got fans chanting his name at MetLife and he still lives with his parents in New Jersey.
His mom makes his bed, does his laundry, and cooks all his meals. DeVito's not ashamed, either. In fact, he says it's a 'no-brainer.' And fans? They're either wildly impressed or totally confused.
Tommy DeVito lives at home, eats home-cooked meals, and makes no apologies
This isn't a rumor. It's straight from DeVito himself. The New Jersey native told ESPN he still lives at home in Cedar Grove because:
'Everything that I need is there at the house... the decision was a no-brainer for me.'
No rent.
No commute. Mom's chicken cutlets. It's peak Italian-American son energy and social media loves it.
Making $1M a year and still letting mom fold your socks? Fans are divided
DeVito is on a standard rookie deal and will make around $1 million this year not chump change, but not Mahomes money either. So yes, he could afford a place. But he's choosing financial discipline over flash, and fans are reacting accordingly:
One user, @kingshagrin comments,
'$1 million ain't shit in New York lol'
Another user @mikejbabcock, agreed to the setting,
'Median income for a single person in Jersey is $49K. That $1M puts DeVito in the top 1%. But hey, if mom's gonna cook and clean, I might stay home too.'
Tommy DeVito goes viral as NFL QB who lives with parents and lets mom do everything- X
People are torn, some think it's genius financial planning, others think it's peak mama's boy energy.
DeVito isn't just a meme, he actually won games for the Giants last year
While the living situation is funny, let's not forget, DeVito stepped in as QB for the Giants last season and won games. He had a three-game win streak, went viral for his hand gestures, and brought life to a flat Giants offense.
Now? He's still a backup, but firmly on the radar—and living rent-free (literally) while doing it.
Not every NFL player needs a $10M condo or flashy sports car. Tommy DeVito is proof that staying grounded can still work even in the most high-profile job in sports. And as long as he keeps winning games (and bringing leftovers to practice), no one's really complaining.

Carlos Alcaraz talks about relationship with Jannik Sinner, that French Open final

French Open winner Carlos Alcaraz opened up on his unique rivalry with fellow Slam winner Jannik Sinner and how he overcame the Italian at a Roland Garros final that ranks right up there with some of the greatest tennis matches of all time. Alcaraz said that he believed that closing a slam was going to be tough on Sinner and that he would get his chances to make his way back into the match. 'I simply thought about coming back little by little: one point, then another point, then another point, especially those three points,' he said in an interview to the Financial Times. 'Closing a Grand Slam is very, very difficult, so I knew that I would have chances. That's why I stayed calm. I knew it wasn't going to be easy for him.' Alcaraz also spoke about the mental warfare during a match of this significance that took place in this year's French Open. The Spaniard revealed that his confident demeanor was also one that he portrayed in order to not show any weakness. 'It was a bit the image I wanted to give as well,' he said. 'At no time did I doubt that I could come back, but obviously you have to show an image of self-confidence at all times. As soon as you show weakness to the other, that's it – you are lost.' Alcaraz also spoke about his relatioship with Sinner. While the initial years of a Roger Federer-Rafa Nadal rivalry was respectful yet distant, the same isn't necessarily true for this generation's greatest two tennis players. 'Jannik and I, who have had great battles on the court, see each other a lot off of it. We talk, we train together sometimes. And in the end you forge a good relationship, a beautiful relationship … We want to win and beat each other, but then off court, being good people and getting along is another matter. For me that is one of the virtues and values of sport,' said Alcaraz, who will next be a part of the US Open.

IND vs ENG 5th Test: 'Will have to admit that England are better if ....' - Sunil Gavaskar's brutal response to India winning more sessions

Mohammed Siraj and Ravindra Jadeja appeal to Shubman Gill for a review during day four of the Fifth Test Match vs England (Photo by) India are staring at defeat in the fifth and final Test of the series as England edge closer to a commanding win, powered by a brilliant stand between Joe Root and Harry Brook. With less than 100 runs needed and Brook having already smashed a century, pressure has mounted on the visitors, who must win to level the series 2-2. As the game began slipping from India's grasp, former captain and commentator Sunil Gavaskar delivered a blunt assessment of the situation in response to Harsha Bhogle's analogy. Bhogle had likened the series to a tennis match, saying, 'Overall, if you add up all the games, it's a bit like that — one team has won more games, the other more sets.' Unless India win this game and level the series, you have to admit that England are the better team. It doesn't matter how many sessions you've won,' said Gavaskar while speaking on Sony Sports Network. Yashasvi Jaiswal press conference: Message from Rohit Sharma, Virat Kohli help, support from Gambhir He did concede that a 2-2 scoreline would reflect the competitiveness of the series. 'Yes, 2-2 would be a fair result given India have won more sessions overall,' Gavaskar added. But with Root and Brook firmly in control, and the target now within touching distance, India's hopes of a leveller are rapidly fading. Poll Will India manage to level the series to 2-2? Yes, they will win No, they will lose Brook made Siraj's costly error while he was on 19 runs count, after the batter escaped. He raced to his century in just 91 balls, and with Joe Root also well on his way to another ton, things are looking bleak for the visitors.
