Greenwood played 129 times for United before joining Marseille for £26.6million last summer.
And in June he was spotted training in Manchester alongside former United pal D'Mani Mellor.
But despite the Ligue 1 season not starting until mid-August, Greenwood has once again been back in his home town for a brutal training session.
This time, the forward was joined by not one but two former United teammates.
The first was England midfielder Kobbie Mainoo, who is still at Old Trafford and desperate to nail down a spot under Ruben Amorim.
Greenwood's second pal was none other than James Garner, who is entering his fourth season at Everton after making just seven appearances for United before leaving in 2022.
And the big-name trio turned heads at a council playing fields in Manchester as they donned training gear and football boots.
Greenwood will be hoping that his extra work during the summer break will boost his numbers further next term.

His haul of 22 was markedly better than the 10 goals netted while on loan at Getafe during the 2023/24 season.
And it's five better than the 17 struck while playing for United in the 2019/20 campaign.

Indeed, Marseille boss De Zerbi reckons Greenwood can become a generational player.
He said: 'Greenwood is a natural talent. All the credit goes to his mother and father. And I'm here to help him become more complete.
'When he needs a hug, a word of support, I gladly give it. And when I need to push him to give more, I have to do that too because that's my job.
'I would especially like to help him be remembered, in this stadium and by these supporters, as one of the greatest players to have played here at the Velodrome.
'There have been so many great players here, but I think Greenwood has the qualities to be remembered that way. And I'm trying to help him progress.'

Marcus Rashford among five players to tell Manchester United they want to leave

Manchester United forward Marcus Rashford is one of five players who have told the club they want to leave Old Trafford this summer, the PA news agency understands. It is understood Rashford, who spent the second half of last season on loan at Aston Villa, Alejandro Garnacho, Antony, Jadon Sancho and Tyrell Malacia have all informed United they see their futures lying elsewhere. United have responded by delaying their scheduled return for pre-season training until the end of July to allow them time to find new clubs. Should none of the players secure a new deal elsewhere before the end of the month, they will be welcomed back to Carrington, where they will continue to have full access to medical and training support. PA also understands summer signing Matheus Cunha will be given the number 10 shirt, which had been worn by Rashford, for next season and United have informed the England international's representatives of the decision. Rashford scored four goals in 17 appearances during his time at Villa Park, but the Midlands club decided not to activate the £40million option to buy him. The 27-year-old, who fell out of favour at United under head coach Ruben Amorim, is reportedly keen on a move to Barcelona and does not want a move to London, ruling out the likes of Arsenal, Chelsea and Tottenham. There is also reported interest from Germany, Italy and Saudi Arabia for the player, who has scored 17 goals in 62 appearances for England. Garnacho, who made his first-team debut for United as a 17-year-old in 2022 after joining from Atletico Madrid in 2020, has scored 16 goals in 93 Premier League appearances. But his relationship with Amorim has also deteriorated after he vented his frustration on social media following his omission from United's starting line-up in their Europa League final defeat to Tottenham. The Argentinian has been linked with both Chelsea and Italian champions Napoli. Antony failed to justify his huge price tag at Old Trafford after arriving from Ajax in an £82million deal in 2022, but he rediscovered top form after joining Real Betis on loan in January. Sancho has also endured a difficult spell at United following his arrival from Borussia Dortmund for £73m in 2021. His only appearance for United since his fall out with former boss Erik ten Hag in the summer of 2023 came in the 2024 Community Shield against Manchester City. After spending last season on loan at Chelsea, the Londoners opted to pay a £5m fine rather than sign Sancho permanently for £25m. He has been reported to have held talks with Juventus.

Man Utd star stripped of iconic shirt number as transfer exit looms

Manchester United have decided to strip Marcus Rashford of the No.10 shirt and will give it to new summer signing Matheus Cunha. Cunha arrived as United's first signing of the summer transfer window following a £62.5million move from Wolves. Ruben Amorim will have high hopes for the Brazilian as he looks to revive United's attacking fortunes following a disappointing season last campaign. Cunha will report to pre-season in the coming days, and the 26-year-old has been given an early present after United decided to give him the No.10 shirt for the new season. The shirt was most recently worn by Rashford, but the Englishman has been stripped of the iconic jersey as he looks for a summer exit. Rashford has not played for United since December after a falling out with Amorim saw him loaned out to Aston Villa in January. Villa had the option to sign Rashford for £40 million, but the forward has long made it clear that he is holding out for a Champions League club. A move to Barcelona appears to be Rashford's preference, with the forward even publicly admitting that he would relish a move to the Nou Camp to link up with teenage sensation Lamine Yamal. And Rashford's hopes of securing a move to Barca could well have improved after the Catalan giants missed out on the chance to sign Nico Williams. More Trending The Athletic Club winger had reportedly agreed verbal terms on a move, but has now instead signed a new contract with his boyhood club, which includes an increased release clause. Barcelona are reportedly set to turn their focus to signing Liverpool's Luis Diaz, but are also keen on signing Rashford as well on a loan deal. Rashford is not expected to report back to pre-season along with the rest of the squad to give him time to try and secure a move away from Old Trafford. Antony, Jadon Sancho, Alejandro Garnacho and Tyrell Malacia have also reportedly been granted an extended break to try and finalise moves away after telling United they would like to leave this summer.
