Kyle Richards' daughter leaves fans aghast as she reveals hair loss after taking Hollywood weight-loss drug

Daily Mail01-05-2025

The Real Housewives Of Beverly Hills star Kyle Richards ' daughter has left fans aghast after using the popular Hollywood weight loss medication Mounjaro.
Sophia Umansky, 25, whom Kyle shares with her estranged husband Mauricio Umansky, said she began losing hair three months after she started taking the drug.
Mounjaro, which like Ozempic is an injectable originally developed to treat diabetes, has been taken by celebrities ranging from Meghan Trainor to Whoopi Goldberg.
Although hair loss is not listed as a side effect of the drug, it can be a temporary result of hormonal changes or nutrient deficiencies that come with rapid weight loss.
'I am very lucky that I have so much hair, because at the rate that I've been losing hair, I'm gonna be bald in about a week,' she joked on TikTok.
'I started Mounjaro about four months ago, and I would say like maybe for the past three weeks to a month, I've noticed a dramatic hair loss situation.'
Sophia indicated that 'all throughout the day,' if she tugs even gently at her hair, clumps of it will come out in her hands.
She showed her fans footage of 'everything I brush out of my hair before the shower and everything that comes out during the shower.'
The 'nepo baby' influencer theorized: 'I don't think it's a direct result of the medication. I think it's a direct result of rapid weight loss because of the medication, and not eating enough vitamins, protein, all that kind of stuff.'
She explained that when she began taking Mounjaro she 'was just making sure I was eating enough' food in general, and 'wasn't really thinking about like enough protein, enough vitamins, all that kind of stuff.'
Now, however, she has 'really been putting an effort into eating more protein, taking more vitamins and all that kind of stuff,' she shared.
Sophia also offered her fans a glimpse of some of the measures she has been taking to 'not be bald,' such as using shampoo and conditioner meant to treat hair thinning.
She ordered a jar of OMI hair growth peptides and has been ingesting four tablespoons of collagen every morning, plus Grüns vitamins for gut health.
Viewers leapt into the comments section with reactions like: 'Why are you on Mounjaro? You are SUPER thin!' and: 'Why are you on this medication?'

However Sophia also had many defenders who praised her for her 'honesty' in discussing her Mounjaro use and hair problems
'This is wild. She was never over weight to begin with,' observed another TikTok user, urging Sophia's mother: 'Kyle check in on your daughter.'
Another scolded Sophia: 'You're a young girl promoting anorexia essentially. You shouldn't be doing this to your body. You don't need it. You're enough and pretty.'
However Sophia also had many defenders who praised her for her 'honesty' in discussing her Mounjaro use and hair problems.
'People get mad for NOT being transparent and then attack you when you are transparent,' noted one TikTok user. 'I cannoooottttt with yall!!!!!'

Charli XCX hits back at 'fraud' claims after Glastonbury set criticised

Charli XCX has hit back at claims she is a "fraud" after her Glastonbury Festival headline set was heavily criticised. The Apple singer was headlining the Other stage Saturday evening, with a packed out crowd there to sing and dance with her. However, Charli came under criticism for her set, with many convinced she was miming or using autotune. She referenced the "boomer vibe" comments on her set in a string of Twitter posts. She wrote on X: "Like the idea that singing with deliberate autotune makes you a fraud or that not having a traditional band suddenly means you must not be a 'real artist' is like, the most boring take ever. yawn sorry just fell asleep xx "But to be honest… i enjoy the discourse. imo the best art is divisive and confrontational and often evolves into truly interesting culture rather than being like kind of ok, easily understood and sort of forgettable." She then added: "really enjoying these boomer vibe comments on my glastonbury performance. it's super fascinating to me," before thanking those who gave her five star reviews. During her big set, Charli XCX sang her song with Icona Pop, I Love It, as well her hit viral song Apple, which Gracie Abrams acted as the Apple Girl for and danced the TikTok routine. The singer was accused by fans of miming during her performance, where she headlined the Other stage on Saturday night, whilst Neil Young and the Chrome Hearts performed on Glastonbury's Pyramid Stage. At the same time, the Scissors Sisters were performing on the Woodsies stage - and the venue had to be shut down as there were too many people there. Taking to Twitter/X, some fans blasted the singer. One wrote: "Oh ffs can't watch Scissor Sisters and Charli XCX is bloody dreadful. Could literally be any random person miming. WTF for a Glastonbury Saturday night, disappointing." Another added: "Predictable but shame nonetheless that charli xcx can't sing live #Glastonbury2025 #charlixcx FAKE." And a third said: "Charli xcx Embarressing [sic]that, turning up to walk around stage pretending to sing…" Whilst some weren't keen on her set, others loved it. "Charli xcx the icon you are #Glastonbury2025," one wrote, whilst a second added: "Charli xcx killing it." A third penned: "Charli xcx is taking over Glasto, she's bloody amazing."

Lorde played a surprise set on Friday morning and got close to him on stage as he performed with her. Then in the evening, he had his arm around her while they watched headliners The 1975, before partying until well after 4am. It came just as his singer ex Kacy Hill made a dig at him on TikTok, to the soundtrack of Lorde's single Man of the Year, which he worked on. She wrote: 'Let's hear it for the man who ended a 6.5 year relationship while making a girl's album then started dating her.' A source said: 'Lorde is really happy with Jim after they bonded making the album. 'But there was no overlap and she was very respectful.' ‘Helen from Wales' hailed ‘hero of free speech' after live stream of Kneecap reaches 2 million

Helen Wilson, a vegan café owner from Swansea and a Glastonbury regular for 25 years, stepped in when the BBC chose not to broadcast controversial Belfast rappers Kneecap's set live on TV. She decided to live stream the performance on TikTok, sharing it directly with her followers. Nearly two million people have interacted with the TikTok live stream of the performance, which the BBC has since released in an edited form on their iPlayer platform. 'I can't really believe the attention this has got, It's been crazy, but it shows that maybe the BBC got it wrong,' she said. "There were an awful lot of people who wanted to see Kneecap on the Glastonbury stage.' 'I have always believed in the right to free speech,' she told the Belfast Telegraph. 'But we're faced with being fed an edited version of events by mainstream media. "When I heard Kneecap were not going to be shown as part of the BBC broadcast I just thought I'd stream it live and see what happened. 'I'd been taking part in a pro-Palestine rally earlier and really wanted to see Kneecap. I've been a big fan for a while and admire their support for free speech and stance against social injustice. 'I was thinking that if the BBC say they won't broadcast their performance then where will this censorship stop? Next year it will be someone else. 'I started the stream live on TikTok and thought maybe a few hundred might watch along. I looked at my phone after a few minutes and there were over 7,000 watching and the number was rising so I just had to keep going.' Chaotic scenes as Kneecap's Liam Og O hAnnaidh arrives at court Helen said she had been working at the festival with a sustainable waste management company, but had arranged some time off to ensure she could catch Kneecap's performance. 'I've been following their story and wanted to show people what the BBC were trying to block out,' she said. At it's peak, over 1.8 million had liked her live stream and it has since been shared across many more platforms, turning her into an overnight celebrity. 'I got a name check on stage from Kneecap which was remarkable,' she said after they band called her 'a legend'. 'At the end my phone was overheating, it was incredibly hot but I wasn't going to let it go. This was to highlight a much wider issue, the genocide in Gaza.' Glastonbury has been contacted for comment. Their website states: 'No live performances may be recorded without the Festival's prior written permission. Where granted, further consent is usually required from the artist and, where applicable, their record label in order to use or disseminate such recorded performances. "Rights, if granted, are typically limited to a specific use and programme, with no archive rights. A copy may be required for the Festival's archive, and location/facility fees may apply.' 'That doesn't worry me,' said Helen. 'Some things are too important not to be heard. 'I don't agree with artists being silenced – when institutions avoid politically outspoken artists it's up to the fans to make sure their voices are still heard.'
