Aidan Zingg dead at 16: Tragedy as motocross wonderkid and US national champion dies in horror crash
The teenager reportedly passed away yesterday due to injuries sustained in a crash while he competed at the Mammoth Mountain MX.

Zingg was a highly-rated racer and he was signed to Kawasaki's young driver programme.
The Californian star was even crowned national motocross champion in 2024.
Fellow rider Kris Keefer led the tributes, writing: "Our hearts hurt so much for the Zingg family and they are heavy on our minds.
"He impacted so many people because of the home he was built from and for the young man he was."
Journalist Donn Maeda posted online: "Aidan Zingg was one of those kids that made an impression on you from the moment you met him.
"Motocross gives us all so much pleasure, but it can also take from us.
"I've been told that he suffered fatal injuries at Mammoth MX today.
"My heart goes out to the Zingg family. I can't even fathom what they're feeling. Rest easy, buddy."
Zingg was described in one obituary as a "a beloved son, a devoted friend, and a rising star in the world of motorcycle racing".
The piece also said his "competitive spirit was matched only by his kindness".
Fans also penned emotional tributes, writing: "May he rest in peace."
Another added: "Our sport is cruel sometimes."
Zingg's family have supposedly asked for donations to be made to youth motorsport safety initiatives rather than flowers.

Ammanford racer crashes at British Supersport Championship
Lewis Jones competed in round five of the British Supersport Championship as a wildcard from Friday, July 25 to Sunday, July 27 at Brands Hatch in Kent. During the second practice session, Lewis crashed at the first corner of the Paddock Hill bend. Lewis was forced to withdraw from the competition. (Image: Gavin Elliott) Despite not being injured, Lewis' bike had been damaged, and his team had a massive job on their hands to get it fixed and ready for Saturday's Qualifying. The crash followed a comfortable first practice session on Friday where Lewis achieved a lap time of 1.33.016 and a few changes were made to the bike to cope with the increasing temperatures. On Saturday, the bike was fixed and ready for Lewis to participate in qualifying. The bike had an engine failure. (Image: Gavin Elliott) The qualifying was going well to start, but as Lewis continued to make laps and improve his pace, the bike began to slow. Lewis ended the race early to protect the bike as much as possible and it later transpired that the engine had overheated. This meant a premature end to the weekend as the team's second engine was already away having repairs. Lewis crashed at the first corner of the Paddock Hill bend. J.P. Crawford walk-off homer lifts Mariners past the Rangers
August 2 - J.P Crawford hit a two-run homer in the bottom of the ninth inning as the Seattle Mariners rallied to defeat the visiting Texas Rangers 4-3 Friday night. Dominic Canzone drew a leadoff walk and Crawford lined a 2-0 fastball from Robert Garcia (1-6) over the right-field wall to give the Mariners the walk-off victory. Eduard Bazardo (5-0) pitched a scoreless inning of relief for the victory. The Mariners opened the scoring in the second inning. With one out, Eugenio Suarez reached on an infield chopper and Jorge Polanco lined a single to right, putting runners at the corners. A walk to Canzone loaded the bases before Rangers starter Jack Leiter fanned Crawford. Rookie Cole Young walked to bring home Suarez, but Leiter struck out Randy Arozarena to get out of the jam with no further damage. The Rangers did all their damage against Mariners starter Logan Gilbert in the top of the third. Joc Pederson, who entered the game 0 for 24 against the Mariners this season, led off and was grazed on the hand by a pitch. Former Mariner Rowdy Tellez grounded a double down the first-base line, with Pederson scoring from first when Canzone bobbled the ball in right field. Tellez took third on Jonah Heim's groundout and scored on Josh Smith's grounder into left field. With two outs, Marcus Semien doubled into the left-center gap to make it 3-1. The Mariners pulled within a run in the fifth after Young drew a leadoff walk and Cal Raleigh did the same an out later. After Julio Rodriguez grounded into a forceout, Josh Naylor doubled down the left-field line to score Young. Suarez flied out to the warning track in center to end the inning, stranding the tying run at third. Leiter allowed two runs on three hits in 4 1/3 innings, with three walks and seven strikeouts.
