'What an unbelievable playmaker': New Texas A&M WR praised ahead of fall camp
On Tuesday, during the Aggies' press conference to open fall camp, which officially begins on Wednesday, head coach Mike Elko and starting quarterback Marcel Reed heaped plenty of praise on the junior receiver, noting that Texas A&M's offense in on track to be much more consistent through the air, as Concepcion provides Reed a true No. 1 option.
After junior Noah Thomas transferred to Georgia, landing Concepcion became a mandatory objective, knowing that Marcel Reed would become the full-time starter after Conner Weigman transferred to Houston. So far, so good, as Elko and Reed couldn't hold back their excitement regarding Concepcion's likely impact this season.
"What an unbelievable playmaker" Elko stated.
"He was a guy that we paid a lot of attention to when we played him, and he has absolutely lived up to it. … He's ready to go on and have a really, really big year for us."
During Elko's two-year head coaching stint at Duke, he became well aware of Concepcion, who faced Elko's tough defense twice during the 2022 and 2023 seasons. One of the main reasons the North Carolina native chose Texas A&M was Marcel Reed's dual-threat ability, especially making plays out of structure, which Reed recounted during their first practice session together.
"I remember that practice. I saw KC there and was like, 'Yeah, I got to get this guy.' There was one period where I threw three or four balls that were at least 25 or 30 yards downfield."
"KC has done a tremendous job this spring, this summer. He's a tremendously hard worker. … He'll give 110 percent every time. He has really strong hands."
This not only provides more context of what Concepcion brings to the offense, but confirms that the future NFL draft selection is already putting the work in to help take Texas A&M's passing game to the next level this fall.

Latest 2026 bracketology projects UNC basketball to face familiar foe in NCAA Tournament
Preseason bracketology matchups rarely happen. The North Carolina Tar Heels' basketball program is looking to avoid what happened in the 2025 NCAA Tournament. After barely getting into the tournament, UNC beat San Diego State in the first four before falling to Ole Miss in the opening round. Season-long issues then resurfaced in the Tar Heels' loss to the Rebels and this past offseason saw an overhaul of the roster. In Joe Lunardi's latest round of 2026 bracketology, UNC earns a six seed in the 2026 NCAA Tournament. North Carolina is projected to a familiar opponent, 11-seed San Diego State, who advances via winning a First Four matchup. If this actual matchup takes place, Lunardi will cement himself as the top bracketologist in college basketball history (not that he already isn't). Lunardi might anger fans occasionally, but he's pretty accurate. Whereas the Tar Heels carried a guard-heavy roster last year, their upcoming roster will be post-heavy. UNC will carry 7-footers Henri Veesaar and Ivan Matlekovic at center, plus 6'11" Jarin Stevenson and 6'9" Caleb Wilson at power forward. Senior Seth Trimble and Colorado State transfer Kyan Evans will hold down the North Carolina backcourt, with freshman Derek Dixon and Virginia Tech transfer Jaydon Young behind them. If the Tar Heels make a deep run into the NCAA Tournament, Hubert Davis won't have to worry about his job security. UNC's roster is much deeper this coming season, despite plenty of new players, but that depth needs to be proven during non-conference gameplay. Former Notre Dame QB Steve Angeli praises Riley Leonard, discusses his clutch CFP play
Steve Angeli didn't receive a lot of playing time for Notre Dame last season because Riley Leonard was firmly entrenched as the starting quarterback. For the season, Angeli went 24-of-36 passing for 268 yards and three touchdowns against zero interceptions. But the now Syracuse Orange signal-caller did have an integral part in Notre Dame's run to the College Football Playoff national championship game. During the Orange Bowl CFP semifinal against Penn State, the now Indianapolis Colts rookie Leonard exited the game during the final drive of the second quarter with a possible head injury. Angeli came in to lead a 52-yard scoring drive that featured three third-down conversions and ended in a field goal that cut Notre Dame's deficit to 10-3 entering halftime of an eventual 27-24 Fighting Irish win. Angeli spoke to the local media at Syracuse on Monday about Leonard and that clutch FG drive. "That was the most fun I had playing football last year," Angeli told reporters … "Just having that opportunity was special." It's safe that say that while he didn't get to see the field often in South Bend, he loved his time there. Angeli, who completed 77 percent of his passes for 504 yards with seven touchdowns and one interception in 2023, has two years of eligibility remaining with the Orange. Notre Dame saw On3's Steve Wiltfong predicting to land one of its last 2026 targets
Notre Dame football currently has twenty-six commits in the 2026 recruiting cycle, and while there isn't much room left, there is for at least one more prospect. Elijah Golden is a 6-foot, 4-inch and 275-pound defensive lineman from Florida who will make his commitment on Aug. 9th, deciding between Alabama, Oklahoma, Virginia Tech and the Irish. On3's Steve Wiltfong really likes Notre Dame's chances, as on Monday he put in a projection for Golden to commit to the Blue and Gold. With a frame like his, Golden will most likely play on the interior of the line at the next level, but can also play on the edge if needed. Tiki Hola is the only other prospect that projects inside, so there is a clear need for Notre Dame to add another in this class. The hope is that Wiltfong is correct, and Golden ultimately does select the Irish on Saturday.
