has been accused of exploitation on the pretext of marriage by a woman from Uttar Pradesh's Ghaziabad. A complaint has been lodged through the online grievance portal, IGRS, reported ANI.
The woman, in her complaint, has alleged that she was in a relationship with the cricketer from the last five years, during which she was exploited mentally, emotionally and physically.
"For the last five years, the complainant was in a relationship with a cricketer. The man emotionally, mentally and physically exploited her by misleading her with the promise of marriage. He introduced the complainant to his family as their daughter-in-law, which made her trust him completely," the complaint stated.

The woman accused that the 27-year-old physically and mentally harassed her when confronted. "During the relationship, the complainant was made emotionally and financially dependent on him. Later, she found that the man was involved in similar relationships with other women as well," the complaint said.
She further claimed to have contacted the women's helpline number on June 14 but alleged that the matter did not progress at the police station level. Owing to financial and social helplessness, she turned to the Chief Minister's office seeking justice.

"She has chats, screenshots, video calls, and photos as evidence," it added.
"The request is to investigate this matter promptly and impartially, and to take legal action against the accused. This step is important not only for her, but also for all girls who fall victim to such relationships," it concluded.
Notably, Yash Dayal was part of RCB's historic IPL 2025 title win earlier this month, taking 13 wickets in 15 matches. He has represented Uttar Pradesh in all domestic formats and is yet to make his India debut.

Nagpur: Seed dealers in Nagpur and Wardha — both predominantly cotton-growing belts — have called for a strike on Monday alleging that illegal herbicide-tolerant (HT) seeds have eaten away half of their business. HT seeds are genetically engineered to be resistant to glyphosate, a cheap weed killer whose commercial sale awaits a green signal from the Ministry of Environment, Forest, and Climate Change (MoEFCC). The seed buying season is over, and the dealers are left with nearly 50% to 40% of unsold stock. They will now have to run after the seed companies to refund the booking amount. The companies may refund the amount if they relent or adjust it for the coming season, said the traders TOI spoke to. A packet of the authorised BG II seed, which is only effective against the bollworm pest, has MRP of Rs901 a packet. In contrast, farmers paid nearly Rs2,000 for a packet of HT seeds, said the dealers. As per the traders, the HT seeds are illegally grown in the hinterlands of Gujarat and smuggled to Vidarbha. A massive proliferation of the seeds grown in clandestine farms can also lead to a crisis for the region's farmers. Sold in the grey market, there is no guarantee of the seeds' performance. There are chances that the weed killer may even destroy the cotton seed, and farmers would not be able to claim any compensation from the govt," said Chandak. Ravi Shende, his counterpart in Wardha, also spoke of a similar situation in the district. "The seeds come from Gujarat, where an entire illegal industry seems to operate. The govt must act against it," he said. Farm activist Vijay Jawandhia alleged that a number of operators are simply plucking off the seeds from the HT cotton and packing it to Vidarbha. "Even if grown illegally, the method is to develop a seed through hybridisation. The seeds taken out of the cotton crop can lack the required vigour. Yet, farmers are paying as much as Rs2,000 for a packet of such seeds," he said. Box Shortage of workers to clear weeds The high demand for HT seeds also indicates a labour shortage in the hinterland. It enables the free use of glyphosate-based weed killers on cotton plants, instead of deploying labour to manually clear the weeds. There is also a strong lobby for legalising HT seeds. In 2019, Shetkari Sangathana openly sowed the seeds, challenging the govt to take action. The seeds were developed by Mahyco-Monsanto, which withdrew from the trials, due to which it remains illegal to use. Glyphosate, however, is at present only allowed in non-cropped areas and tea gardens.

Unemployed youth losing money in online task-based jobs, investment scams: Police
Panaji: In a disturbing trend, police said that cyber fraudsters target Goa's unemployed youth by offering them online task-based jobs (such as writing reviews), and then, when they're paid for it, they lose the same money to the fraudsters after they gain their trust. Cyber crime SP Rahul Gupta said that the cyber criminals target unemployed youth and pay them upon completion of their tasks. Gupta said that initially, the criminals pay up to Rs 20,000 for completion of the task. 'Once the cyber fraudsters gain the trust of the youth, they lure them to invest in IPOs related to their companies and promise huge returns. The online job scam then turns into an investment scam. Once the victim invests and decides to withdraw, they direct victims to pay different types of fees, resulting in cheating,' said Gupta. On Sunday, Porvorim police station said that a 29-year-old resident of Mumbai cheated a youth of around Rs 10 lakh under the pretext of task-based jobs. The Porvorim resident, in his complaint, said that an unknown accused person offered a part-time job, inviting him to give Google ratings with a promise of Rs 40 per rating. Based on technical surveillance, one accused person was identified to be in Mumbai, and hence a team from Porvorim police station nabbed the accused,' said Gupta. TOI reported that an investigation into cybercrimes has revealed that fraudsters target youth to ostensibly hire their bank accounts and SIM cards, using gaming apps as an inducement, and then deploying the personal information for criminal activities. Cyber fraudsters approach youth through social media and other platforms and persuade them to rent out their bank accounts and SIM cards to earn additional pocket money.

Couple attacked over missed mobile EMI
Thiruvananthapuram: Staff members of a private finance company attacked a couple after trespassing into their house at Vattavila on Saturday night. Their family alleged that two staff members of Bajaj Financiers attacked the couple for missing an EMI of a mobile phone. Seyyad Kunju, 51, of Ponnumangalam at Vattavila and his wife Nafila Beevi, 43, were grievously injured in the attack. The accused hit them on the head using a helmet. Seyyad, who was hospitalised in an unconscious state, required seven stitches on his head. Hearing the commotion the local people reached the house and restrained the accused until police arrived, but they were freed by police, alleged the couple's son Thasmeed. However, police said that the accused escaped before they reached the spot, and a search was on for them. "Only one EMI was pending and the date of the second EMI is days away. We could not pay the EMI as we needed the money for my mother's treatment," said Thasmeed. He said that the duo trespassed into the house and verbally abused his mother first.
