French Police Arrest Moroccan Doctor Suspected of Wife's Murder
Three days after the victim's mysterious disappearance, investigators discovered her body buried in the garden of her husband's home located in the Ouled Zbair area near Taza.
The 39-year-old victim disappeared on July 14, shortly after leaving her workplace at the regional health delegation in Fez.
Investigators tracked her cell phone's location data, which led them to her husband's house in the Ouled Zbair commune.
Meanwhile, blood traces on her husband's car, which investigators found in his garage just before he fled to France, designated him as the primary suspect.
Investigations took into consideration material and technical evidence, leading the prosecutor's office at the Fez Court of Appeal to issue an international arrest warrant against the husband.
Reports indicate that the couple experienced severe tensions and complications in their relationship in recent months, stemming from persistent personal conflicts.
The investigation also established that the murder took place in Fez, before the perpetrator transported the body over 125 kilometers to the rural area of Ouled Zbair, in what appears to be a deliberate attempt to cover up the crime.
In the meantime, Moroccan judicial authorities are coordinating with their French counterparts to complete the suspect's extradition procedure, to be subject to murder charges, including premeditated murder and concealment of a corpse, according to the Moroccan justice system.
