Samsung's next affordable smartphone could be interesting if cheap enough

Phone Arena17-05-2025
Samsung inundated the Indian market with budget-friendly and mid-range Android smartphones. Although many of these devices will remain exclusively available in India, slightly different variants of the phone usually make it to other countries, but under different names.
It has become a tradition for Samsung to launch a bunch of M series phones in India, which, in many cases, are just reskinned versions of other Galaxy A handsets. An example that comes to mind is the Galaxy M35 and Galaxy A35, which are almost the same device. But there's a reason that we've mentioned the Galaxy M35 in relation to the Indian market. Samsung is preparing to launch a sequel to the Galaxy M35, which is likely to be available via Amazon India.
The folks at Xpertpick recently discovered the Galaxy M36 is already listed on Samsung India's website. Only the model number (SM-M366B/DS) is mentioned on the webpage, so there's no telling whether or not this will be a major upgrade over the Galaxy M35. The only things we know so far about the Galaxy M36 is that it will pack 6 GB RAM and an Exynos 1380 processor. This information appeared for the first time in Geekbench's database, so it's quite accurate.

In fact, since the phone already has its own support page and the predecessor made its debut exactly one year ago, it's possible that the Galaxy M36 will be unveiled this month.
As mentioned earlier, the Galaxy M series phones usually borrow a lot of the Galaxy A series' specs. However, the Galaxy M36 is supposed to pack an Exynos 1380 chipset, while the Galaxy A36 uses a Qualcomm Snapdragon 6 Gen 3 processor.
It remains to be seen how the Galaxy A36 will look like and whether or not it will bring meaningful upgrades over the Galaxy A35 (probably not). Now, if the phone is just as cheap as the Galaxy A35, then that will make it more appealing for customers.

This is the Oukitel WP210 rugged smartphone with a 108MP camera, 8,800 mAh battery, and IP69K rating

Rugged smartphone maker Oukitel will introduce the Oukitel WP210 soon. The brand hasn't revealed its launch date yet, but we've received its images and specifications exclusively from a reliable source, telling us what to expect from the WP210 rugged smartphone. The Oukitel WP210 has the Dimensity 8200 SoC at the helm with 12GB RAM and 512GB of storage. The smartphone will run Android 15 out of the box, but we don't know how many years of software support it will receive. The Oukitel WP210 is built around a 6.7" 120Hz FullHD+ AMOLED display having 550 nits typical brightness and Gorilla Glass 5 protection. It also has a fingerprint reader underneath for biometric authentication. The WP210 will feature four cameras. There will be a 32MP selfie camera (Sony IMX615-AAJH5-C) on the front and a triple camera setup on the rear, which will be a combination of a 108MP primary camera (Samsung S5KHM6SX), a 2MP macro camera (GalaxyCore GC02M1), and a depth unit (GalaxyCore GC032A). The Oukitel WP210 will pack an 8,800 mAh battery with 45W charging support. It will also have 10W reverse wired charging, allowing it to be used as a power bank to charge other devices. Other highlights of the Oukitel WP210 include NFC, IP68 and IP69K ratings, and MIL-STD-810H certification. The smartphone will be 13.7mm thick and weigh 311 g. We are told it will be advertised as "a rugged phone built for fast performance from urban missions to outdoor leisure without the bulk." The Oukitel WP210's target audience includes outdoor workers who value durability, outdoor enthusiasts (hikers, travelers, cyclists) who prefer camera performance and long-lasting battery, and businessmen who want smooth performance and long battery endurance. The Oukitel WP210 will come in red, black, and gray colors. Its launch price will be less than $400 (€345/INR34,880), and it will be available through Oukitel's website starting mid-August and on Amazon by the end of August.
