Ryan Williams Makes Surprising Admission About First Season at Alabama
Ryan Williams Makes Surprising Admission About First Season at Alabama originally appeared on Athlon Sports.
Ryan Williams introduced himself to the college football world last season. The Alabama Crimson Tide receiver earned freshman All-American honors from 247Sports, On3, and Pro Football Focus. Somehow, he's still not satisfied with what he was able to accomplish.

Williams spoke to On3's Andy Staples last week about his experience at the cover photo shoot for EA College Football 26. He appears on that video game's front alongside Ohio State Buckeyes star Jeremiah Smith, who also entered the limelight as a true freshman.
"Whenever we were in Pasadena, of course, we talked about last season and him winning a national championship," Williams said. "I was super happy for him. But we both agreed that, although last year was super fun, super great and we both had very good freshmen seasons, we left a lot on the table. And we both agreed on that.
"Just with that experience from last season, we're super excited (about) what's to come this season."

Williams, a first-team All-SEC honoree, paced Kalen DeBoer's Crimson Tide with 865 receiving yards and eight touchdown grabs. Only Germie Bernard had more catches (50) than Williams (48). That pair will catch passes from either Ty Simpson, Keelon Russell, or Austin Mack this upcoming season.

To surpass DeVonta Smith and become the greatest all-time statistical pass-catcher at Alabama, Williams will need to average 94 receptions, over 1,550 receiving yards, and north of 19 touchdowns over the next two go-rounds. That's also assuming that Williams will declare for the NFL Draft after his junior campaign.

2026 4-star WR and Texas A&M commit has shut down his recruitment
Texas A&M's future wide receiver corps, outside of one 2026 five-star prospect who is set to commit early next month, is set in stone, as 2026 four-star wideout Madden Williams has reportedly shut down his recruitment after his official visit to College Station last weekend, joining four-star wide receiver commits Aaron Gregory and Mike Brown. Williams, who recently signed an NIL-based deal with Adidas ahead of his senior season, is one of the rising stars in the Aggies' 2026 cycle, possessing elite route-running skills and steadily improving as a consistent separator in coverage, utilizing his size. Williams was one of the early commitments in the class, announcing his pledge back in December, so credit to coach Mike Elko, OC Collin Klein, and WR coach Holmon Wiggins for keeping him in house. Texas A&M's California recruiting pipeline under Elko is similar to that of the former head coach Jimbo Fisher, who dominated Florida during his six-year tenure. Williams will enter his senior season at St. John Bosco, one of the elite football programs in the Golden State, and Williams is on track to best his 2024 stats after recording 50 receptions for 851 yards and 13 touchdowns during his junior campaign. So far, Mike Elko is on track to have nearly every one of his 21 2026 commitments shut down their recruitments before Early Signing Day on December 4, further proving that the program is in excellent hands from a recruiting and development standpoint. According to 247Sports, Williams is currently positioned as the 39th-ranked wide receiver prospect and the 27th-ranked prospect in California. Knicks Predicted to 'Check In' on Celtics Center This NBA Offseason
Knicks Predicted to 'Check In' on Celtics Center This NBA Offseason originally appeared on Athlon Sports. For a period of time this spring, the New York Knicks appeared to have a real shot at winning the NBA championship. But the Indiana Pacers, their old rivals from the 1990s, were able to end their run in stunning fashion in the Eastern Conference finals. Advertisement As the Knicks continue their search for a new head coach, they also find themselves needing a better bench. Their lack of bench firepower was one reason why they fell short, and they could use another reinforcement in their frontcourt. Center Mitchell Robinson's future with the team is in question, which could mean they need to find a replacement if they decide to move on from him. Ian Begley of SNY feels Al Horford of the Boston Celtics could be an option. "Also, ESPN reports that Celtics veteran Al Horford will have a robust market this offseason," Begley wrote. "I think the Knicks will also at least check in on Horford's situation in Boston." Al Horford is predicted to have a robust market this offseason.© Bob DeChiara-Imagn Images Horford is 39 years of age, but he was still productive this season and could have one more serviceable year left in him. He made $9.5 million this season and will officially become a free agent on Monday, June 30. Advertisement He averaged 9.0 points, 6.2 rebounds and 0.9 blocks in 27.7 minutes a game while shooting 36.3% from 3-point range this season. He remains the type of multifaceted role player who can be an asset for a team such as the Knicks that is hoping to win it all. The Knicks haven't reached the NBA Finals since 1999 and haven't won the world championship since 1973. Their trip to the Eastern Conference finals this year was their first since 2000, which was Hall of Famer Patrick Ewing's final year with the franchise.
