Superman Makes A Blockbuster Start At Indian Box Office, Mints Rs 7 Crore On Day 1
Superman's first-day collection in India is more than the combined opening day business of RajKummar Rao's Maalik and Shanaya Kapoor and Vikrant Massey's Aankhon Ki Gustaakhiyan.
James Gunn's superhero action film Superman has made a flying start at the Indian box office, outperforming Bollywood releases like RajKummar Rao's Maalik and Shanaya Kapoor's Aankhon Ki Gustaakhiyan. Headlined by David Corenswet, the Hollywood biggie earned an impressive Rs 7 crore nett on its opening day in India, according to sacnilk.com.
Going by the numbers, Superman is now the third-best opening for a Hollywood film in India in 2025 after Tom Cruise's Mission Impossible: Final Reckoning and the Scarlett Johansson-starrer Jurassic World: Rebirth.
The film garnered positive reviews from fans and critics alike which indicates a positive weekend for the makers. As expected, the film is performing strongly in premium formats such as IMAX and 4DX, with the biggest revenue coming from urban regions.
Notably, Superman's first-day collection in India is more than the combined opening day business of RajKummar Rao's Maalik and Shanaya Kapoor and Vikrant Massey's Aankhon Ki Gustaakhiyan. The gangster drama grossed Rs 3.35 crore, while Aankhon Ki Gustaakhiyan earned Rs 35 Lakhs on Day 1, as per sacnilk.com.
In comparison to other big Hollywood releases in recent times, Superman has outperformed Brad Pitt's racing films, F1, Final Destination: Bloodlines, as well as Captain America: Brave New World.
Apart from David Corenswet, the film also features Hollywood celebs like Rachel Brosnahan, Nicholas Hoult, Nathan Fillion, Isabela Merced and Milly Alcock.
The film follows the journey of a younger Clark Kent (played by David Corenswet) as he balances his Kryptonian heritage with his human upbringing, focusing on his early journey rather than retelling his origin story. The film depicts Superman navigating a public relations nightmare, a potential identity crisis, and his feelings for Lois Lane, while also dealing with a villainous Lex Luthor.
In India, the film was released with some edits suggested by the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC), which also included trimming a 33-second kiss between David and Rachel. According to Bollywood Hungama, the CBFC has instructed the production studio to delete every vulgar word said by the cast in Superman. Following the direction, an 8-second shot including a slang gesture was requested to be removed and replaced with a two-second shot.

Who are Saiyaara singers Faheem and Arslan? Kashmiri engineer who quit job, came to Mumbai for 15 days, had planned to go back but...
Saiyaara is steadily climbing the ladder of success at the box office. Not only is the film performing well, but its music is also being hailed as a blockbuster. Mohit Suri's direction, along with the performances of Ahaan Pandey and Aneet Padda, has helped the film cross Rs 150 crore. Beyond the acting and storyline, what's truly winning hearts is the film's soulful music – the biggest reason behind its success. While audiences are loving all the songs, the title track of Saiyaara is leaving a particularly strong impression. Fans have been eagerly trying to find out the voice behind this beautiful track. Who is the singer of Saiyaara song? The title track of Saiyaara has been sung by Faheem Abdullah. Faheem hails from Kashmir and composed the song along with his longtime friend Arslan Nizami. Both of them moved to Mumbai to pursue their musical careers, as their songs were popular in Kashmir but they remained unknown outside the region. Arslan was working as a civil engineer near Leh, he wanted to do a full time in music composing and songwriting. Arslan and Faheem have collaborated several times for Kashmiri songs. They were popular in Kashmir but wanted to be popular outside the state. While talking to Hindustan Times, Arslan said, 'I always used to write and pen down songs. One day, I spoke to Faheem (his collaborator), saying 'Hamara music baahar pahunch nahi raha hai' (our music is not going out). Someone needs to get out and do that'. 'The same day, I resigned from my job and went to Faheem and said, 'Let's do it.' I really wanted to give our music a chance,' he adds. 'The most difficult thing was to explain this to my parents. They are Kashmiri parents, who believe in stability and a good job.' Faheem and Arslan went to Mumbai for 15 days and then… Faheem and Arslan pooled their savings and headed to Mumbai to try their luck. They initially planned to stay for just 15 days. 'We realized we only had enough money to survive for 14 days in Mumbai, so we gave ourselves those 14 days in the city,' Faheem recalled. On the 13th day of their stay, they met composer Tanishk Bagchi – and soon after, they were brought on board to compose the title track of Saiyaara. It was a pinch-me moment for them as they never thought of signing a film. Faheem said, 'To be able to do music itself is a privilege. We never thought we'd ever do music for a film. That was never something we consciously thought about until we got that call.'

This 2-hour 10-minute film beats Vicky Kaushal starrer Chhaava, earns Rs 90 crore in a budget of Rs 7 crore, movie is…, lead actors are…
In a year dominated by big-budget blockbusters, a modestly budgeted film has quietly outshone them all in terms of profitability. While titles like 'Chhaava,' 'Housefull 5,' and 'Sitaare Zameen Par' garnered significant attention, another film, made with a fraction of their budgets, has emerged as the most profitable Indian movie of 2025. Which movie is this? That film is Tourist Family, a Tamil-language comedy-drama directed by debutant Abishan Jeevinth. Produced on a modest budget of Rs 7 crore, the movie has grossed over Rs 90 crore worldwide, achieving an impressive 1200% return on investment. This remarkable feat places it ahead of other major releases, including Chhaava, which, despite its Rs 130 crore budget and Rs 808 crore earnings, achieved an 800% profit margin. What is the storyline of Tourist Family? Tourist Family stars M. Sasikumar and Simran and tells poignant story of Sri Lankan Tamil family migrating to India post-COVID-19 in search of a better life. The narrative delves into their struggles adapting to a new culture, language barriers, and economic hardships. The film's heartfelt storytelling and relatable themes resonated deeply with audiences, leading to its box office success. The film's success is further underscored by its performance relative to other major releases. While Chhaava and Sitaare Zameen Par had significant box office earnings, their high production costs meant lower profit margins compared to Tourist Family. This highlights the film's exceptional achievement in maximizing profitability through compelling storytelling and efficient budgeting. More about Tourist Family The film also features Mithun Jai Sankar and Kamalesh Jagan, Yogi Babu, Ramesh Thilak, M. S. Bhaskar, Elango Kumaravel, Sreeja Ravi, and Bagavathi Perumal, which was backed by Million Dollar Studios and MRP Entertainment in a joint venture and music and background score were given by renowned composer Sean Roldan. Tourist Family had its premiere on April 29, 2025, and hit theaters on May 1. The film garnered favorable reviews, especially highlighting Abishan's direction and Roldan's musical score, along with the performances of the ensemble cast members. Tourist Family is now available for streaming on JioHotstar in India and SimplySouth internationally, allowing a broader audience to experience this heartwarming tale.
