(3) COWDRAY PARK is a bit of a difficult customer at the gate but ran fourth last time.
Race 2 (1,200m)

Race 4 (1,600m)

Filipino Broadway star Lea Salonga to receive her Walk of Fame star in Hollywood
July 4, 2025 MANILA – Tony Award-winning Filipino singer and actress Lea Salonga is set to be immortalized with a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame, as she was officially announced as one of the 2025-2026 honorees of the global honor. The announcement was made by the Manila International Film Festival (MIFF), which had the honor of nominating Salonga under the Live Theatre/Performance category. 'We're incredibly proud to share that the Manila International Film Festival had the honor of nominating the one and only Lea Salonga for a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame—and she's officially been selected!' wrote the organization on social media on Thursday, July 3. Salonga celebrated the news by sharing a screenshot of a news item about the 2025-2026 recipients of the Walk of Fame star, encircling her name. 'Just now woke up to this bit of amazing news!!! To the Manila International Filmfest, many thanks for nominating me to be part of the class of 2025-26!' she wrote. Salonga is the fourth Filipino and the first Filipina to be honored on the Hollywood Walk of Fame after half-Filipino comedian Rob Schneider and singer Bruno Mars received theirs, and is set to receive his alongside his Black Eyed Peas bandmates. Best known for her groundbreaking role as Kim in 'Miss Saigon,' for which she won a Tony, Olivier and other major theater awards, Salonga has built an acclaimed career spanning theater, film, music and voice acting. The 54-year-old is also the singing voice of two beloved Disney princesses, Jasmine in 'Aladdin' and Mulan in 'Mulan,' which earned her the title of Disney Legend in 2011. Salonga's Broadway and West End credits include 'Les Misérables,' 'Flower Drum Song,' 'Allegiance,' 'Once on This Island' and, most recently, Stephen Sondheim's 'Old Friends.' Given her noteworthy contributions to music and the performing arts, the actress-singer has also received honors from the Philippine government, including the Presidential Medal of Merit and the Order of Lakandula. Joining Salonga in the 2025-2026 Walk of Fame class are other big names across various categories, including Emily Blunt, Rachel McAdams, Miley Cyrus, Air Supply, Timothée Chalamet and Marion Cotillard, among others.

July 4 South Africa (Fairview) form analysis
Race 1 (2,000m) A tough opening race. (2) GLOBAL SCENE is battling to get out of the maiden ranks but was not disgraced last time and could do even better this time around. (3) BATTLE OF BRITAIN makes her local debut and could improve trying the Polytrack. (9) CELTIQUE is improving and has a winning chance. (7) CHEAP THRILLS has improved of late and is another to consider. Race 2 (1,300m) (7) ALEX MILLER makes his local debut after a change of trainers. He tries the Polytrack for the first time but does look the one to be with. (1) AMERICAN MATADOR disappointed last time but was in good form before that and should go very close to winning. (2) GLOBAL DRUMBEAT is in good form and can contest the finish again. (3) AMERICAN PITBULL has a place chance on best form. Race 3 (1,300m) (2) BEACH QUEEN has run in a better field than this. She returns to a surface on which she has run well and does look the one to beat. (3) AMANATTO makes her local debut after a change of trainers. She can improve trying the Polytrack. (5) DANCING IN WINTER and (4) RUBY CLAIRE are both in good form but are struggling to get a first win. Race 4 (1,200m) (9) CASINO ACE has only been modest in the Western Cape of late but that form may be good enough in this line-up. He does try the Polytrack for the first time after a change of trainer. (2) SWISS WALT will be suited by the return to Polytrack and is not out of it. (6) MUNCHKIN does not win out of turn, but is not without claims in this. Ran a nice second to Beachamwood Boy at his last start. (5) THUNDER MASTER and (4) JAMBO SANA have both been only modest of late but are capable of winning at this level. (7) NOTORIX and (8) RAVILIOUS are both carded to have run earlier in the week but could be in the mix of things. Race 5 (1,200m) An interesting race. Trainer Alan Greeff has a strong hand. (9) BEACHAMWOOD BOY has improved under his care and could be ready to score. Trainer Gavin Smith has four runners carded, and the best of them could be the improving (6) INDEBE MAYIBUYE. Beachamwood Boy's stable companion (1) DUBAI HILLS has improved of late and would not be a surprise winner. Another Greeff runner, (5) MASKED VIGILANTE, has a good record on this track and trip and could also score. As for Smith's other three runners, (7) DONNY TEE, (10) CHARLIE MALONE and (8) SILVONIAN are all capable of running well on this surface and could earn some money. Race 6 (1,200m) An interesting handicap. Two-year-old filly (1) SILVA CITY has run some good races against her own age. She normally finds a good finish, running past beaten horses, and could be good enough to see off these rivals. (3) JADE'S CABERNEIGH returns from a break but has won five times on this surface and is capable of winning again if fit. (7) CAPE CAPRI and (8) BENEATH THE MOON both make their local debuts but are not out of it on the pick of their form. Race 7 (1,800m) Greeff can take out this race as well. (6) FIRST WISH did not get the cleanest of runs last time. She has improved this year and should make a bold bid at scoring over this track and trip. (3) HONORABLE MEMBER is in very good form and should contest the finish again. There was not much between First Wish and (2) LOTUS ISLAND when they met on this surface. (1) GIDEON'S DAUGHTER is not without ability and cannot be underestimated in this lot. (5) VIHAAN'S QUEEN, (8) CALL TO GLORY and (9) STATE SECRET are three who are capable of getting involved with the finish. Race 8 (1,400m) (11) NEMOROSA is improving and could get the run of the race from a good draw. She will have to fight off challenges for both Greeff-trained runners Sharapova and Arabian Red. (5) ARABIAN RED is clearly a lot better than her last run would suggest and has a very good record on this surface. (3) SHARAPOVA is full of confidence after some nice wins and will not go down easily. (2) TREASURE HUNT also likes the Polytrack and could earn some money.

July 2 South Africa (Fairview) form analysis
Race 1 (1,600m) (3) GOLDEN GREY is a hard horse to win with, but he is consistent and should make a bold bid at beating these rivals. (4) FIZZLY BUBBLY only tired late last time and should be right there at the finish. (1) BOMBER BAY tends to lack a strong finish but can get involved with the finish yet again. (8) GENTEEL is only modest, but she is consistent on the Polytrack and can also make the frame. Race 2 (1,600m) (4) JUST FOR U has shown improvement of late and could be ready to score. (6) WINTER'S DRAGON showed improvement and was not far behind her rival last time, so she should contest the finish. (1) MIDNIGHT MUSIC and (2) BEZONDER have both run their best races on this surface, so they are clearly not out of it. Race 3 (1,000m) (4) SEE YOU IN A BIT could get the run of the race from a good draw. (3) WORDSWORTH is in good form and would not be a surprise winner. (5) NOTORIX is quite capable of winning a race like this. (1) TINTAMARRE makes his local debut and tries the Polytrack. Can be included in all permutations. Race 4 (1,000m) (2) SMASHING was a good winner on this surface in May. She is not well drawn but can follow up. (5) SWEET JULIA ran well on local debut and could go one better. (4) STRING OF LIGHTS is in good form and could contest the finish. (12) PITON DE NEIGE is threatening a second win. Race 5 (1,200m) (2) GREEN OKRA may have gone too quickly last time. She does look the one to be with over a course and distance that should suit. (6) NIGHT IN JAPAN makes her local debut after a change of trainers and could improve. (7) OPERA VERSE remains in good shape and is not out of it. (3) BROOKSIDER is better than his last run would suggest and can contest the finish. Race 6 (1,400m) (5) COURAGEOUS has been consistent on this surface and gets a narrow vote to score. (8) THREAD OF LIFE, (9) BRETTY and (10) COLORAMA are all capable of winning over this course and distance. Race 7 (1,400m) (6) HAT HOT HAT was not disgraced when fifth last time. He won easily before that and can bounce back to win if given a soft lead. (1) A BIT CHILLY is in good form and can be competitive again. (2) KING'S SAILOR ran unplaced to Imaginable at his last start on June 27 but he should be given a chance again. (7) GUARDING THE WALL is not reliable but is capable of winning. Race 8 (2,000m) Decent filly (1) WALKONTHEWILDSIDE has finished second in her last two starts but is not an easy ride. If given a decent pace, she can quicken past these rivals. (3) FLIGHT DISPLAY has not been disgraced of late and should be a threat at this level. (8) THREE CHEERS and (9) DARLING HARBOUR are all in good form and capable of earning more money.
