SHEFFIELD WEDNESDAY's financial crisis deepened after six stars reportedly handed in notices over unpaid wages.
The Championship club are in crisis mode with owner Dejphon Chansiri refusing to inject any more cash into the coffers.

And unpaid players are raging after being left out of pocket for several months.
SunSport exclusively revealed how upset stars have asked the EFL to send them money, with Wednesday now banned from buying players until 2027.
Out-of-contract stars like Barry Bannan have also left Hillsborough after seeing their deals expire.
And now, the Telegraph claims that six players have handed in their notices over unpaid wages from May and June.

All squad members are able to hand in a 15-day notice period to terminate their contracts.
It's currently unknown which six stars have decided to head down that route.
But with dissent growing, more could follow in the coming days as Wednesday 'battle to avoid a full-scale mutiny.'
Even manager Danny Rohl has not turned up for pre-season, with the gaffer said to be nearing a severance deal.

Assistant boss Henrik Pedersen is in line to replace him, but only if he receives assurances over several details.
And elsewhere, clubs including Southampton and Norwich are still reportedly owed fees for deals dating back to 2022.

It now looks likely that Wednesday will be hit with a major points penalty for the new Championship season.

Even former owner Milan Mandaric has jetted to Sheffield in a bid to save his old side from going under.
And for now, the future of Wednesday appears uncertain.

The financial expert said it could earn you thousands Money-saving expert Martin Lewis is sending out an urgent call to action for all 18 to 39-year-olds. The financial expert has highlighted that starting with a modest £1 could help you unlock significant amounts of cash, reports Lancs Live. On the subject of lifetime ISAs (LISAs), Mr Lewis broke down how these tax-free nest eggs work wonders by offering a hefty 25 per cent bonus for first-time homebuyers or retirement savers. Mr Lewis explained: "If you're aged 18 to 39 and you've never owned a house, then get a pound in a lifetime ISA now, assuming you don't already have one. "A lifetime ISA is a savings product where you can save up to £4,000 a year, and the state adds 25 per cent on top towards a qualifying first home. But there's a rule that says it has to have been open a year before you can get that bonus." The finance guru underscored the value of this scheme, stating: "Now that bonus is worth up to a grand a year for you, so you want to have the facility. And just putting a pound in now, even if you're not ready to use it, means when you are ready to use it, the clock will have been ticking." With eye on the future benefits, he added, "You would have had it open a year, so you're perfectly eligible to suddenly go and get the bonus when you want. "In fact, parents, on your kid's 18th birthday, why not get them a LISA and put a pound in it? "The LISA has its pros and it has its cons. There are some holes in it, and I'll go through those all in detail in the podcast. But it's absolutely worth making sure you have the facility to have a LISA set up and running as quickly as possible. And if it all goes wrong, the worst that can happen is you have to pay a 6p fine to take your one pound out at the end. I think it's worth it." If you are looking to buy a house with it, only first-time buyers can use it, which means you can't own, or have owned, a home in the UK or anywhere in the world. You will need to be buying a home for no more than £450,000, and it must be for you to live in. You must also use a traditional repayment mortgage. HMRC calculates bonus payments on a month-by-month basis, based on payments you make into your account from the 6th of the month to the 5th of the following month. LISAs can be combined if both the buying parties have one. As for the fee, this is scrapped once you turn 60. You can also withdraw the money if you are diagnosed with a terminal illness. There is a withdrawal fee of 25 per cent of any amount withdrawn if you are not buying a house, terminally ill, or have turned 60.

Legendary restaurant chain launches UK 'comeback' with new menu after rescue
A popular American restaurant chain has announced a 'full brand reset' as it looks to regain its presence in the UK. TGI Fridays said it undergone a major transformation, with new dishes and improved grill items, after it filed for bankruptcy last November. The group's UK owner, Hostmore LLC, had announced plans to purchase the whole worldwide brand in April 2024, but pulled out of the deal, leaving TGI Fridays to enter administration in October of that year. A rescue deal saved 51 of its UK locations, but 35 restaurants were forced to close, including the chain's flagship branch in London's Leicester Square, which shut shop in January. As part of the relaunch, timed to coincide with Independence Day in the US, diners at TGI Fridays this weekend will receive a voucher for a free return meal, valid during the week until the end of the month. A new and improved menu includes an 'ultimate Texas mixed grill' and cajun-spiced salmon fillet. Customers will also be able to choose from an all new American sandwich range. 50 per cent of the chain's dishes have been revamped, with 70 per cent of its grill offerings refreshed. The Americana themed restaurants have been a fixture of British towns since arriving from across the pond back in 1986. The bistro chain now employs 2,500 people across 49 restaurants, the Sun reported. Despite a decline in UK restaurant sector last year, TGI Fridays said that its takings had picked up in 2025.
