This is ‘golden era' for BCs
Nellore: TDP BC Cell State president and Inland Water Ways Authority (IWWA) chairman Z Siva Prasad termed the one-year rule of the coalition government headed by Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu as 'Golden Era' for Backward Classes.
Addressing a press conference at party district office here on Wednesday, he said that majority of BCs were benefited with the government sponsored schemes like pensions, Talliki Vandanam and other schemes. Allocation of Rs 47, 457 crore for the development of BCs in 2025-26 budget was never witnessed before in the history of AP, he added. Siva Prasad stated that inducting eight ministers from BC community in Naidu's cabinet shows that Naidu is most affectionate towards BCs.
Alleging that the previous YSRCP government had totally ignored BCs' development, the TDP leader called upon the community people to utilise the opportunities initiated by the government to uplift their living standards. Asserting the government's commitment for protecting BCs, Siva Prasad said as part of this initiative, the government is framing procedures related to BC Protection Act, which will come into force very soon.

'There is no significant impact on exports, except for a rise in insurance costs. In one such action, the Directorate of Revenue Intelligence (DRI) launched 'Operation Deep Manifest' to target illegal imports of Pakistani goods routed through third countries like the UAE. The finance ministry said that so far, 39 containers carrying over 1,100 metric tonnes of goods valued at Rs 9 crore have been seized under the operation. These goods were falsely declared as UAE-origin but were found to have originated from Pakistan, transshipped via Dubai. Bilateral trade between the two countries dropped from $2.41 billion in 2018 to just $1.2 billion in 2024, as per PTI. AAP suspends Punjab MLA Kunwar Vijay for 5 years after he opposes arrest of SAD leader Bikram Singh Majithia
Days after the ruling Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) MLA from Amritsar North in Punjab, Kunwar Vijay Pratap Singh, opposed the arrest of Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD) leader and former minister Bikram Singh Majithia in a disproportionate assets case, the party's political affairs committee suspended him from the party for five years. The Punjab Vigilance Bureau on June 25 arrested Majithia after conducting a raid at his residence in Amritsar in a disproportionate assets case worth Rs 540 crore Kunwar Vijay shared a video of the raid showing Majithia's wife Ganieve Kaur protesting against the alleged high-handedness of VB sleuths. Will reclaim Gachibowli land, asserts Telangana CM Revanth Reddy; says area will be used for IT development & job creation
HYDERABAD: Chief minister A Revanth Reddy on Saturday took a defiant stand on the Kancha Gachibowli land controversy and and said his govt would reclaim the entire land, spanning over 400 acres. Inaugurating the six-lane PJR flyover in Kondapur, spanning 1.2 km, he said, "We will establish IT companies on the land and generate lakhs of jobs. The Financial District has already created nearly 10 lakh jobs, while the Knowledge Park near Durgam Cheruvu has generated an additional five lakh jobs. We planned to create five lakh more jobs with Rs 1 lakh crore investment across 400 acres near Gachibowli stadium, but faced hurdles from certain quarters. " He added the land had been wrongly allocated to private parties in 2002-03. What has Modi done for Hyderabad, asks Revanth Revanth said, "But we successfully contested the claim in the Supreme Court and reclaimed it for the state govt after two decades." Controversy around Kancha Gachibowli started in Feb after the state govt announced plans to clear the land for development projects. The issue had reached up to the Supreme Court which warned the state govt against clearing the forest. Addressing the gathering after inaugurating the flyover, Revanth challenged Union minister G Kishan Reddy and BJP's eight MPs in Telangana to explain Prime Minister Narendra Modi's contribution to the city.
