Last Updated: Five Manchester United players, including Rashford and Garnacho, want to leave. Rashford, out of favor, was loaned to Aston Villa. Sancho, Antony, and Malacia also seek moves. Five Manchester United players, including England international Marcus Rashford and Argentina winger Alejandro Garnacho, have informed the club of their desire to leave, a source at the club confirmed on Friday. Rashford, who has made over 400 senior appearances for United, has reportedly fallen out of favor with manager Ruben Amorim. The 27-year-old spent the second half of last season on loan at Aston Villa, scoring twice in 10 Premier League appearances. United endured their worst-ever Premier League campaign, finishing 15th, with Rashford playing no part under Amorim in the latter stages. The manager publicly questioned the forward's commitment, stating he'd 'rather put a goalkeeper coach on the bench than a player not giving their all." Since his move to Villa, Rashford has said he feels 'fitter and better," but a long-term future at United appears increasingly unlikely. Alejandro Garnacho is also considering his future at the club. The 20-year-old Argentine featured regularly throughout United's Europa League campaign but was only brought on as a late substitute in the 1–0 final defeat to Tottenham Hotspur — a loss that also cost United a place in next season's Champions League. Frustrated, Garnacho took to social media after the match: 'Up until the final, I played every round helping the team, and today I play 20 minutes, I don't know," he wrote. 'The final will influence [my decision], but the whole season, the situation of the club." Sancho, Antony, and Malacia Also Want Out Brazilian winger Antony, who joined United from Ajax in 2022 for a reported fee exceeding $100 million, played 17 times and scored five goals for Real Betis while on loan in LaLiga. Meanwhile, Dutch left-back Tyrell Malacia, who has battled injuries since arriving at United, was loaned to PSV Eindhoven in February. He, too, has signaled a desire for a fresh start elsewhere.
