Disturbing Details Emerge Regarding Quinn Ewers' Injury at Texas
Truth came out about his injury, as he was interviewed by former five-year NFL backup quarterback Kurt Benkert.

In their sit down, Ewers told Benkert that he was playing with a grade three ankle sprain, something that is not supposed to be played football on.
Something that clearly affected him in the end of his collegiate career at Texas, and perhaps something that hindered his draft status as he fell to the seventh round, where the Miami Dolphins selected him.

Certainly disturbing details surrounding his situation, as fans around the sport saw a less mobile version of Ewers that we have been used to seeing during his time with the Longhorns.
After a rough end for Ewers, he is healthy and starting his next steps as a professional quarterback in Miami, Florida. After going viral on Jon Gruden's QB Class with his praise on Ewers' ability and knowledge of throwing the football, he now enters his next stage.

The coming weeks and months will be big for his development, and now that he is healthy, can show the Dolphins who they really got as a potential steal in the NFL Draft.
He was recently spotted at the NFL Players Association Rookie Premiere event sporting his new number for the Dolphins, as he will be wearing the No. 14 for Mike McDaniel's team this season.
A potential story to watch will be how he plays in camp and in the pre-season, and barring injury to star quarterback Tua Tagovailoa, playing time in the regular season as well.

Matt Rhule believes NFL experience will help in new college football landscape
The new approach to college football will make it more and more like pro football. Which, in theory, provides an advantage for college football coaches with pro football experience. Nebraska coach Matt Rhule, who spent two-plus seasons as head coach of the Carolina Panthers, believes his time in the NFL will help him when it comes to shaping a college roster in an era of players getting paid. Via Shayni Matra of Rhule made his case in a recent visit to Greg McElroy's podcast, Always College Football. 'I think the biggest thing you learn when you're in the NFL is really evaluation,' Rhule said. 'Before, in college football, it was like, 'Yeah, he's a good player, let's offer him, let's take him.' You get to the NFL, they're all good players. It's just, 'Hey, what's the financial value we put on this person and put on this position?' Every year in the NFL, you go through free agency, and you see teams walking away from it with really good players because of their contract situations.' One key difference comes from the inability, under the current college system, to manipulate the available spending by carrying dollars over from one year to the next. 'The smart teams in the NFL carry money over and position themselves through the years,' Rhule said. 'But that discipline, I think, is something that's really, really unique. It's hard because you get to know the players. You want to take care of everybody.' One goal of the House settlement is to balance out the dollars. Rhule hopes that will lead to parity. We'll believe it when we see it. With the money now flowing freely, the programs that have the most will always find a way to get it to the players, directly or indirectly. Then there's the thing that you were probably thinking earlier and that probably goes without saying. But I'll say it anyway. Given that Rhule was 11-27 in 38 NFL games, does it make sense to put much stock in his NFL experience making a positive difference at Nebraska?

Rams players reveal their summer reading lists ahead of 2025 season
Summer is a great time for catching up on books you've always wanted to read, and NFL players are no different. ESPN's Tim McManus asked a few NFL players what books they were reading this offseason, including Los Angeles Rams defensive backs Quentin Lake and Ahkello Witherspoon. While their answers weren't as ridiculous as some (Seattle Seahawks defensive tackle Leonard Williams is reading "War and Peace" by Leo Tolstoy), the duo still offered interesting reads for the summer. Lake is reading two books: "Outliers" by Malcolm Gladwell and "The 48 Laws of Power" by Robert Greene. "I like ['Outliers'] because it kind of shows you that if you grow up or if you're in a certain type of environment, it can really allow you to thrive," Lake told McManus. "Now, '48 Laws of Power,' I like that book a lot because it gives you rules. Now you don't take it literally, but there are certain things you can look at and it's like, 'Hey, how can I use my position that I'm in right now as an advantage to either elevate myself or get myself out of trouble?'" Witherspoon, meanwhile, is reading "James" by Percival Everett and "All the Light We Cannot See" by Anthony Doerr. Lake and Witherspoon will be two of the most important players in the Rams' secondary this season. L.A. didn't add any new pieces to the unit in the offseason so far between the draft and free agency and also didn't acquire Jalen Ramsey in a trade. Hopefully, the duo will learn enough from their reading to take their games to the next level in 2025.
