Body found in search for missing teenager last seen with her obsessed boyfriend
Marissa DiNapoli was last heard from on Saturday, when she texted her family to say she was going to stay overnight with a friend.
Police believe she was last seen the next morning at 9:45am in Morgan Hill, California with her boyfriend, named as Martin Mendoza, who officials say is considered a person of interest in her disappearance, per ABC7.
She was last seen with Mendoza leaving a home outside of Morgan Hill, around three miles from where a body was found on Wednesday night near the Anderson Reservoir.
Officials have not yet established if the body is DiNapoli, as they were unable to make a positive identification because of the condition of the body, and are awaiting a forensic pathology report.
DiNapoli's car was later found in the same area where she was last seen, with cops now urgently searching for Mendoza.
Friends of DiNapoli told NBC Bay Area that she had previously shared that she was fearful of Mendoza, claiming that she told them, 'he would kill her, that he would not stop, that he's obsessed with her, that he's crazy and that he's willing to go to that extent.'

California cops said they contacted Mendoza during the search, but he was not cooperative with investigators and was considered a person of interest soon after.
He is believed to be driving a white Toyota Camry with a license plate of either CW87W00 or 9PTM351.
DiNapoli's friend Jaslyn Gutierrez said that the teen had told her about her fears that Mendoza would 'kill her' during their relationship.
Gutierrez added that she had known DiNapoli for years, and said they 'had a bond that nobody could break'.
Several of DiNapoli's friends said that the area around Anderson Lake where the body was found was a place the couple had been known to hang out at.
Family friend Serina Soque added that some of DiNapoli's loved ones contacted Mendoza during the search, and claimed that he, 'tried to say he wasn't Martin and then followed that with he hasn't spoken to her for two weeks'.
Soque claimed that there is a 'video of him on the 29th (of June) and leaving with her', however Daily Mail has not independently verified this.
In a press release on Wednesday before the body was found, officials addressed DiNapoli directly, urging her to come forward.
'Marissa, if you are reading this press release, please contact the Morgan Hill Police Department,' the release said.
Law enforcement sources told NBC Bay Area that it was DiNapoli's own family who found the body on Wednesday, after her loved ones had been searching the surrounding area for days.
She is described as a Hispanic woman, about 5 feet tall, weighing about 100 pounds, with brown eyes and black hair.
DiNapoli graduated from Opportunity Youth Academy three weeks ago, and her teacher Tara Guerrero, who was helping the search, said she was a bright and kind person.
'Every student in my class touches my heart, but her especially. She had the brightest smile that would light up every room, she was friends and friendly with everyone who came into our classroom,' she said.
'She's just one of those kids that leaves a mark on your heart, and I have a broken heart right now. I consider her one of my own children.'

EXCLUSIVE Convicted coke dealer fires back at the gunmen who shot up his home with a furious message for the wannabe gangsters
Convicted cocaine dealer Joe Frangieh has hit back at the 'cowards' who sprayed his mother's home with bullets in a drive-by shooting. Police were called to the matriarch's home on Davidson Avenue in Concord in Sydney 's inner-west shortly after 1am on June 256, amid reports 'five or six shots' had been fired. The home belongs to Hasna Frangieh, mother of Joe and Ray Frangieh, who were jailed for cocaine supply in 2002. It was bought by Ms Frangieh for $1.5million in 2015. Joe Frangieh told Daily Mail Australia he was overseas at the time of the shooting and had 'no idea' if it was specifically targeted at his family home. 'I think only cowards shoot houses - why is the point (sic),' he said. 'What if my mother or kids were hit. How does that make you strong. 'It's [a] bunch of cowards and the Australian Police would have to be the most embarrassing force on the planet - they should step up and let the streets sort themselves out or step away.' Police were called to the property on Davidson Avenue in Concord in Sydney's inner-west shortly after 1am on Thursday (pictured) Mr Frangieh added: 'And as for these idiots that are just doing these hits not knowing what they're doing, I feel sorry for them, as if they knew the consequences of their actions they would think twice. 'And that's [where] the problem lies, young idiots looking to make a quick earn ending up in jail for a very long time all for a little bit of money.' A short time after responding to the shooting, emergency services were called to nearby car fire at Stuart Street in Burwood. A stolen white 2021 Genesis was found rolling down the street while on fire. It's understood the three occupants failed to put the handbrake on as they fled the scene in another white vehicle. The Frangieh family has been targeted several times in the past. In September 2003, shortly after the Frangieh brothers had been released from prison, their home in Bristol Street, Merrylands, was sprayed a dozen bullets. Three months later, Mr Frangieh's father Sayed was fatally shot in the chest during another attack on the home. It was later revealed the intended target of the shooting was Ray Frangieh. Ray had become embroiled in a dispute with another crime figure, Ken Tan, who had reportedly failed to pay him $50,000 after buying his luxury BMW. Earlier that day, Ray had run Tan off the road in an altercation over the unpaid sum. Tan was jailed for manslaughter after it emerged he had sent associates to carry out the botched hit.

In another call before that, the insider said the actor was swearing he was going to rehab. "He told me 'I'm going to rehab,' and all this kind of stuff. "He really opened up to me. It was clear he had a lot going on in his life that was difficult for him to navigate." The source said that as they grew closer, they could tell the Kill Bill star wasn't doing well. Michael Madsen was one of Hollywood's most iconic actors, who will be missed by many. Source: Variety He was last seen in public in April, appearing disheveled. At the time of his death, Madsen was involved in 18 unreleased projects, as noted on his IMDB page. Michael "was really looking forward to this next chapter in his life," his managers, Smith and Susan Ferris, as well as publicist Liz Rodriguez, said in a statement. TROUBLED FINAL YEARS Michael Madsen was the father of six children. In January 2022, his son Hudson Madsen tragically died by suicide at the age of 26. Hudson was one of three sons Michael shared with his wife, DeAnna Madsen, whom he married in 1996. In August 2024, Madsen was arrested on a domestic battery charge following allegations that he assaulted DeAnna. Virginia Madsen's statement Michael Madsen's younger sister, Virginia Madsen, paid tribute to him with the following statement on Thursday: He was thunder and velvet. Mischief wrapped in tenderness. A poet disguised as an outlaw. A father, a son, a brother—etched in contradiction, tempered by love that left its mark. We're not mourning a public figure. We're not mourning a myth — but flesh and blood and ferocious heart. Who stormed through life loud, brilliant, and half on fire. Who leaves us echoes—gruff, brilliant, unrepeatable—half legend, half lullaby. I'll miss our inside jokes, the sudden laughter, the sound of him. I'll miss the boy he was before the legend; I miss my big brother. Thank you to everyone reaching out with love and memory. In time, we'll share how we plan to celebrate his life—but for now, we stay close, and let the silence say what words can't. Source: Variety Shortly after the arrest, he filed for divorce from his wife. However, just weeks later, Madsen stated that he had no intention of going through with the divorce. In an Instagram post, Madsen clarified that his wife had no involvement in Hudson's death, despite claims made in his divorce filings. The nature of Michael Madsen's relationship with DeAnna at the time of his passing remains unclear. Along with DeAnna and his children, Madsen is survived by his younger sister, Virginia, who shared a heartfelt tribute to him on Thursday. "We're not mourning a public figure.
