Actor Kajol recently opened up on how she was affected during the clash between Ajay Devgn's production house and Yash Raj Films over 'Son of Sardaar' (2012) release. She recalled her dilemma at the time as someone close to both Ajay and Aditya Chopra.Kajol, in an interview with India Today's sister channel The Lallantop, when asked about how she dealt with the Ajay-YRF controversy. She said, "Fights are always difficult, especially when they remain unresolved for some time. At that point, when you have a situation like that in front of you, both parties were standing for themselves."advertisementThe 'Maa' actor further said, "As somebody who was connected to both sides, I felt helpless. You have to wait for time to pass, so that the feelings subside. So that things can become ok again."
"Change is change, it is neither good nor bad. It is written somewhere that change is eternal. It is the only thing which is constant," she added. The controversy started when Devgn Films, formerly known as Ajay Devgn FFilms (ADF), filed a complaint in the Competition Commission Of India (CCI) alleging that YRF used its dominant position in the market to get maximum screens for 'Jab Tak Hai Jaan'. Ajay's production house had mentioned that it resulted in 'Son of Sardaar' not finding enough screens.Kajol was recently seen in Vishal Furia's 'Maa'. The mythological-horror was co-produced by Ajay Devgn and Jyoti Deshpande. India Today, in its review of 'Maa', wrote, "The gesture of crediting the cast and crew alongside their mothers' names was a touching tribute. And the use of Jubin Nautiyal's 'Humnava Mere' to underscore the mother-daughter bond was also quite a masterstroke. The haunting melody not only amplified their relationship but also became a thematic beat for the film."The film released on June 27.The trailer of Kajol's upcoming action-thriller 'Sarzameen' was recently released. The JioHotstar movie also features Prithviraj Sukumaran and Ibrahim Ali Khan. It will be available for streaming from July 25.- EndsMust Watch

EXCLUSIVE: YRF to launch Saiyaara trailer on July 8; Mohit Suri says, 'No love story can work without music'

Over the last one month, YRF has launched multiple songs from the Mohit Suri directed Saiyaara, which marks the launch pad of Ahaan Panday and Aneet Padda. The title track has gained momentum and is at present topping the music charts, creating curiosity around this intense love story. With less than 2 weeks to go for the release, Pinkvilla has exclusively learnt that Aditya Chopra and team Saiyaara are all set to launch the theatrical trailer of the film on July 8, 2025. A source close to the development confirms that the trailer cut is locked and the makers will unleash it in a grand may on Tuesday. 'It's a trailer that expands the world of Saiyaara further to the audiences, and opens up the core conflict of the film. The entire team at YRF is confident to leave a mark with this impactful trailer cut, leading to an aggressive marketing campaign for a July 18, 2025 release,' revealed a source. Opening up about the trailer, director Mohit Suri informed that it's a tough ask. 'There is no fixed pattern on how you do it. With thrillers, it is difficult to cut a trailer, but you don't face that problem with love stories usually. Surprisingly, with Saiyaara too it was a tough ask, as all said and done, it's a newcomers' film, and not some larger-than-life set up. We have tried to convey the story and make the characters relatable for the audience,' said Mohit. He further added, 'Back in 1995, everyone wanted a Raj in their life. Why? Because he was identifiable for both– the girls and the guys. That aside, music also makes a big difference in a love story, and our trailer has a lot of music. I also feel, no love story can work without music.' Talking of Saiyaara, the film introduces Ahaan Panday and Aneet Padda to the showbiz. The film is set to release on July 18. 2025. Stay tuned to Pinkvilla for more updates!

Kajol says Shah Rukh Khan once told her to learn acting; recalls feeling ‘exhausted and burnt out' at 18: ‘I didn't want to keep doing roles where I had to…'

Although Indian cinema has long had iconic on-screen couples like Raj Kapoor–Nargis Dutt, Dilip Kumar–Vyjayanthimala, Prem Nazir–Sheela, MG Ramachandran (MGR)–Saroja Devi, Amitabh Bachchan–Rekha, Kamal Haasan–Sridevi and Mohanlal–Shobana, among others, Shah Rukh Khan and Kajol remain a fan favourite and arguably one of the most adored acting duos of all time. From Baazigar (1993), Karan Arjun (1995) and Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge (1995) to Kuch Kuch Hota Hai (1998), Kabhi Khushi Kabhie Gham (2001), and My Name Is Khan (2010), the two have shared the screen multiple times, delivering countless unforgettable moments. Off-screen too, the duo share a warm and affectionate bond. Recently, Kajol spoke candidly about her longtime friend, highlighting his relentless work ethic in becoming Bollywood's Baadshah. 'Shah Rukh is a huge star. The films we did together were massively successful. I think we have been good for each other on screen. I give him as much credit as he gives me as far as the movies are concerned. As far as his career is concerned, he has worked so hard to be where he is today. If he calls himself 'King Khan', he has worked very hard to be there. The credit for his career belongs to him,' she shared during a chat with The Lallantop. Kajol also recalled a piece of advice Shah Rukh gave her early in her career. Though she didn't grasp its full meaning at the time, it eventually resonated with her. 'Shah Rukh used to tell me, 'Baby, you better learn how to act. This habit of giving your all in every shot will wear you out'. I, of course, didn't listen and kept going. But the kind of films I was doing at that time were heavy, the best example being Udhaar Ki Zindagi (1994). I think I was 18 or something while doing that movie. After the film was completed, I was exhausted, and I understood what Shah Rukh said. For every shot in every film, you can't afford to give… I mean, you can't be so into the role that you give your 300% to it. You are basically giving your soul away then,' she shared. Because of these perfectionist tendencies, Kajol revealed she felt burnt out after just four films. 'I was tired. I told my mother, 'I don't want to do films any more'. I was burnt out at 18. I said I didn't want to keep doing roles where I had to cry constantly or invest so much of myself. It was only after that phase that I started learning, as SRK called it, the technique of acting.'
