Wamiqa Gabbi shuts down rivalry talks in the industry: 'I wish we all rise together...'

Admired for her powerful on-screen persona and remarkable range as an actor,
Wamiqa Gabbi
continues to make a name for herself in the entertainment industry. The actress talked candidly about her approach to industry collaboration and personal development.
Wamiqa thinks that actors with similar career paths should support one another and remain focused on her own development as an artist rather than seeing them as competitors.
Wamiqa discussed her realistic and sympathetic perspective on competition and success in an interview with Instant Bollywood. "So you know for an artist, the most important thing is to empathize and it's very important," she said, reflecting on her values as a performer.
"What do I need to feel threatened by somebody who I feel has kind of a similar journey as mine? I wish that we all rise together."
Her mature statement, which has become a defining characteristic of her career in the film and OTT industries, is insightful. Wamiqa's white, textured top, which was probably made of knit or soft ribbed fabric, gave her appearance a cozy yet modern edge in the video. Her hair was neatly arranged in a loose ponytail with soft layers and strands that framed her face.
A bow was added for a delicate, feminine touch. She emphasized her natural beauty with subtle elegance by wearing fresh, minimal makeup.
Playing one of Geet's cousins in the blink-and-you-miss-it role in Jab We Met marked the beginning of Wamiqa's career. Even though the role was brief, the aspiring actor gained invaluable experience from watching director Imtiaz Ali and the cast closely and eagerly taking part in the filmmaking process.
Her journey wasn't always easy. Wamiqa has been open about experiencing a period of withdrawal from her work, even considering giving up the field. In '83, she made the decision to accept a role that gave her a fresh perspective and a renewed dedication to her art.
Wamiqa Gabbi is soaking up praise today for her role opposite RajKummar Rao in the recently released comedy-drama Bhool Chuk Maaf, which is another milestone in her career.
She has a ton of exciting projects planned for the future. She will soon appear on screen alongside
Akshay Kumar
in Priyadarshan's upcoming horror-comedy Bhoot Bangla. The movie, which also stars Tabu and Paresh Rawal, will be released in theaters in April 2026.
Wamiqa also appears in the romantic drama Dil Ka Darwaaza Khol Na Darling, which stars
Siddhant Chaturvedi
and seasoned actor Jaya Bachchan.

Aamir Khan may be Bollywood's thinking man's superstar, but even he wasn't immune to emotional breakdown. In a recent interview shared by The Lallantop, Aamir confessed he spiralled into self-destruction after his divorce from Reena Dutta in 2002—his first wife and the woman he married in secret in 1986. 'When Reena and I separated, that evening I finished an entire bottle of alcohol, and for the next 1.5 years I drank every day,' Aamir said. 'I never slept. Main behosh ho jaata tha daaru peeke. I was trying to kill myself.' What pushed Aamir to the edge? During this period, Aamir completely withdrew from work and people. The irony hit when he was named Man of the Year in the same year Lagaan released. 'I found it very ironical,' he said—celebrated by the world, but crumbling in private. How did he cope with grief and healing? This wasn't the first time Aamir reflected on that turbulent chapter. Speaking to Instant Bollywood earlier, he had said, 'When Reena and I broke, I was in mourning for almost 2–3 years. I wasn't working or listening to scripts… I drank a lot. You will be shocked to know that I was a teetotaler.' What helped him eventually was acceptance: 'Accept that what was once yours is not there now. Also accept how good it was for you when it was there, and how much you will miss it when it isn't.' Has Aamir Khan found peace again in love? Aamir went on to marry filmmaker Kiran Rao in 2005, but they too separated in 2021 after nearly 16 years of marriage. Now, at 60, Aamir has introduced a new chapter—Gauri Spratt. In a recent event, he presented her publicly and shared that his family has welcomed her warmly. From battling inner demons to finding love again, Aamir Khan's emotional candour reveals a man unafraid to show his flaws, proving that even perfectionists bleed.

Aamir Khan Calls Ex-Wife Reena Dutta His Biggest Critic: 'She's Always Honest With Me'

Last Updated: Aamir Khan said Reena Dutta loved his recent film, Sitaare Zameen Par. Aamir Khan is currently enjoying the success of Sitaare Zameen Par. The film was released earlier this month and opened to mostly positive reviews. However, for Aamir Khan, his biggest critic is his ex-wife, Reena Dutta. The actor, known for his perfectionist streak and an instinct for emotionally resonant storytelling, recently appeared on On The Right Angle with Sonal Kalra and opened up about Reena's honesty. When asked who his biggest critic is, Aamir offered an unexpected response, 'All of my kids are honest with me and they critique my work." He said, "But I think Reena is one of my biggest critics." Aamir shared how Reena, his ex-wife's feedback has always mattered to him for her unwavering honesty. She said, 'She's always honest with me, and that's something I've always respected" After watching Sitare Zameen Par, Reena texted Aamir Khan. The actor said, 'She said, 'Hey Aamir, you were great. Loved the film.' And that meant a lot to me." He added. 'For her to say that, it told me the film had really landed." Aamir Khan married Reena Dutta in 1986 in a secret ceremony during the early days of his career. However, after 16 years of being together, they got divorced in 2002. In a recent interview, Aamir Khan revealed that it took him three years to get back on his feet. He revealed that he was in deep depression and turned to drinking for a year and a half. He said that he used to be a teetotaler but began to finish a bottle a day after his divorce. Aamir Khan told Instant Bollywood, 'When Reena and I broke, I was in mourning for almost 2-3 years. I wasn't working or listening to scripts. I was alone at home, and for almost 1.5 years, I drank a lot. You will be shocked to know that I was a teetotaler. After the split up, I didn't know what to do." Aamir reflected on what he learnt from his divorce and said, 'You have to face your losses and accept how important it was for you. Accept that what was once yours is not there now. Also accept how good it was for you when it was there, and how much you will miss it when it isn't there anymore." After his divorce from Reena Dutta, Aamir Khan married Kiran Rao in 2005. However, after nearly 16 years, they announced their separation in 2021. Aamir Khan, now 60, has found love for the third time with Gauri Spratt. He recently introduced Gauri to the media and revealed that his family has accepted her with open arms.
