Let bygones be bygones: Karan Johar on fallout and patch-up with Kartik Aaryan
Karan emphasised that the film industry is like a family where people may have differences. He further said, "I have had, he's had issues with each other, but it's a tiny industry, which I call a family. I believe that in a family, kabhi kabhi gile shikwe ho jaate hain (sometimes complaints and misunderstandings happen), but I think good people want to make good films, create good content and, as I said, we don't sweat the small stuff — we have a larger vision to look at."Previously, Dharma Productions had announced 'Dostana 2' in 2019 with Kartik and Janhvi Kapoor. The filming of the project came to a standstill due to the COVID-19 pandemic and lockdown. The production house later announced that the cast would be reconsidered, confirming Kartik's exit.advertisementReports of a fallout between Karan and Kartik also surfaced later. However, the duo buried the hatchet and now the latter will feature in Dharma Productions' 'Tu Meri Main Tera, Main Tera Tu Meri' opposite Ananya Panday. The romantic comedy is directed by Sameer Vidwans, who also helmed 'Satyaprem Ki Katha', starring Kartik and Kiara Advani.'Tu Meri Main Tera, Main Tera Tu Meri' will be released in theatres on February 13, 2026.Kartik has also been signed for Dharma Productions' fantasy-adventure 'Naagzilla'. Jungle Mangal Movie Review: a calm adventure wrapped in suspense
The Times of India Jul 04, 2025, 11:27 AM IST 3.0 By Susmita Sameera Set against the scenic backdrop of a village at the foothills of the Western Ghats, the story begins on April 5th, 2020. As COVID-19 safety instructions play on TV, we meet a couple—Praveen ( Yash Shetty ) and Divya (Harshitha Ramachandra)—arguing over the phone. Praveen longs to see Divya, but she is hesitant due to lockdown protocols. After some convincing, she sneaks out of her home. Praveen picks her up, hides his bike in the bushes, and takes her to a secluded spot in the nearby forest. During their conversation, Divya reveals she has waited long enough for Praveen to settle down. As the eldest of four daughters, family pressures have mounted, and she's accepted another marriage proposal. Just as emotions peak, word spreads in the village that a couple is hiding in the forest. A group of villagers, eager to catch them in the act, sets out to confront them. What follows is a gripping escape, not just from the villagers, but also from a terrifying goon with his own agenda. As they navigate this tense situation, the couple must also face the unresolved complexities of their relationship. The film explores whether they can outwit their pursuers and confront their personal dilemmas. The narrative is layered, not only focusing on the protagonists but also delving into the lives of other interconnected characters. Told in a non-linear style, it frequently jumps back in time to reveal the events that shaped key moments. While most flashbacks are engaging, a few slower segments briefly disrupt the flow. At its core, the film is a simple yet nuanced story about love, pressure, and escape. While Praveen and Divya's relationship anchors the plot, the emotional depth extends to others entangled in their own struggles. Yash Shetty and Harshitha Ramachandra bring sincerity to their roles, but Ugramm Manju, as the fierce and unpredictable antagonist, leaves a strong impact with his screen presence. Though the film avoids dramatic spikes, it remains steadily engaging, unfolding its mysteries gradually and letting tension and emotion breathe. Shot in the lush greenery of the Western Ghats and grounded in village life, it creates an immersive atmosphere. The music elevates the film and stands out as one of its key strengths. Rather than building to a dramatic climax, the film resolves its conflicts in the same steady rhythm it maintains throughout. There are no major twists or high-stakes payoffs—just a quiet closure to the journey. This is not a film that aims to shock or overwhelm. It's a calm, adventure-thriller best enjoyed with a bucket of popcorn—an easy, laid-back watch set against a lush natural backdrop.

EXCLUSIVE: Anshula Kapoor opens up on childhood trauma and being a ‘burden', reveals how parents and brother Arjun Kapoor handled her
Anshula Kapoor recently made her engagement official with long-term boyfriend Rohan Thakkar. While penning down a long note, she called him her 'safe place'. Not many people know, but Anshula has been through many ups and downs in her life. And now, in an exclusive interview with Pinkvilla, the star kid opened up on her mental health and childhood trauma, where she called herself a 'burden' on others. On being quizzed about how her parents reacted to her feelings, she mentioned that everyone tried to make her understand in their own way. Anshula revealed that she had conversations with 'Bhaiya' Arjun Kapoor at an adult age, but with her parents in her childhood only. Anshula underlined that when she was having such conversations with her mom, she was very young. 'I spoke to mom pretty much not in these words as I feel like I'm a burden to you or I'm a burden to the relationship you and dad had. I think she figured it out without me putting them in these words because I was maybe 8 or 9,' said Anshula. She further highlighted that at that early age, she was blaming herself for the separation of her parents, instead of being a burden. Anshula added, 'When I was having a conversation, I think it was more in the words of I blame myself. It happened because of me. And she had to more than understand where I came from, she also had to get me out of this loop and get me out of this thought process. Because there was no truth to it.' After the demise of her mom in 2012, her brother Arjun Kapoor looked after her. Anshula mentioned that at that time, she used to feel like she was a burden on her brother. She further admitted to having these conversations with her brother. Anshula Kapoor reveals having open conversations with brother Arjun Kapoor during lockdown Anshula said, 'With bhaiya, I had this conversation in COVID because I was going through the worst time of my life. So, almost all of the first half of 2020 was- Bhaiya and I having conversations.' She further expressed that her brother used to listen to all her logical and illogical reasoning of why she thinks she is a burden on him, and he tried to make her understand by rationalizing her thoughts and giving her a fresh perspective. While talking about her dad, Boney Kapoor, Anshula recalled that her mother had a conversation with him and told him how she blames herself for their separation. 'So, dad I remember in his own ways, has tried to address this and make me feel at ease and give me the comfort only he could have given me as he was the other parent,' concluded Anshula. Last seen in The Traitors, Anshula credited therapy for the positivity in her life. She mentioned that it was her therapist who made her have such conversations with her brother. Stay tuned to Pinkvilla for more updates.
