Adam Shaw of Hillsdale, N.J. announced on Saturday that he's received his official offer from Michigan State. Shaw -- who flipped his commitment from Rutgers to Michigan State in June -- shared a post on social media X about the official offer from the Spartans.
August 1 is the first day for schools to extend official offers to prospects in the 2026 class.
Shaw is a three-star linebacker prospect, with a recruiting rating of 88 in 247Sports' rating system. He ranks as the No. 44 linebacker and No. 16 player from New Jersey in the 2026 class.
Shaw is a Spartans legacy, with his dad, Scott Shaw, playing for Michigan State in the 1990s.
Michigan State is one of nearly 20 schools to offer Shaw, according to 247Sports. He was notably being recruited by Rutgers, Pitt and Michigan State before selecting the Spartans.

Former Iowa football running back accepts new coaching position
When players go through the Iowa football system, they become so much more knowledgeable of the game and can think football at a higher level than others. That's a big reason why so many Hawkeyes find their way into the NFL and usually stick around longer than some may expect. But for those who weren't able to make it to the league, that knowledge doesn't evaporate. Some players use it to be involved with the game in a different aspect: coaching. And this former Iowa football running back is the next in a great line of Hawkeyes turned into coaches. Bemidji State University football announced on X that it had hired former Hawkeye running back Ivory Kelly-Martin to be its running backs coach for the 2025 season. Bemidji State is a Division II school located in Bemidji, Minnesota. They compete in the Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference (NSIC). Kelly-Martin played at Iowa from 2017-2021, appearing in 44 games. He had 181 carries for 804 yards and six rushing touchdowns in those 44 games. He spent a lot of time backing up Tyler Goodson and providing valuable snaps. While he wasn't a star at Iowa, Kelly-Martin was well respected by his teammates and coaching staff and was a true steward of the game. That was evident with his inclusion on the 2021 Players Council. Before accepting this position with Bemidji State, Kelly-Martin was a graduate assistant running backs coach at Baker University in Baldwin City, Kansas. With his Master's in Business Administration all finished up, he can now start his coaching career with the Bemidji State Beavers. Hawkeye fans wish Kelly-Martin the best of luck as the next chapter of his life begins. Texas A&M lands former Kansas guard from the transfer portal
So far this offseason, new Texas A&M basketball head coach Bucky McMillan has already landed 11 players from the transfer portal. At the same time, 2025 signee Jeremiah Green and standout international shooting guard Rubén Domínguez have led to 13 total additions. To reach the 15-player roster threshold, McMillan's goal this fall was to add two more veterans to the 2025 roster. On Sunday morning, the 14th player was added to the roster, as McMillan has landed a commitment from Kansas guard Noah Shelby, who will join former Kansas forward Zach Clemence and shooting guard Rylan Griffen, two of the program's first transfer additions earlier this year. Shelby is a McKinney, Texas, native and a four-star prospect in the 2022 recruiting class. Shelby first committed to Vanderbilt before transferring to Rice, then walking on with the Jayhawks, where he averaged 3.9 points while shooting 35% from the field and 33% from 3-point range. A top-20 ranked guard in the 2022 cycle, Shelby is still considered one of the better 3-point shooters and will be entering a fast-paced offense built around shooting efficiency, providing the Texas native a chance to find a place in the rotation. Shelby has 44 games of experience under his belt, which is highly valuable to a new roster under a first-year head coach. Bill Belichick highlights impact of transfer portal on UNC's 2025 football roster
Exactly how many transfers joined the UNC football program this offseason? If you don't recognize many players on this year's UNC football roster, that's because of several 2024 departures and 2025 transfer portal additions. North Carolina will enter its highly-anticipated season with new starters across the board. The Tar Heels will have a new starting quarterback for the third-consecutive fall, a young wide receiver room and entirely new defensive line, which replaces every 2024 starter. On Saturday morning at UNC's first day of Training Camp, head coach Bill Belichick spoke extensively about his new team's roster overhaul, highlighting how he looked to fill positions through the spring portal. "We have a lot of new players, a little over 40 from the spring and 70 guys that weren't on last year's team," Belichick said. "The first portal, we're just trying to find guys to fill the team. Second portal, we're looking for good football players. We felt like any position, if the player wanted to come in and compete – and we thought it was a good player – then this is the right spot for him. We'll give everybody an opportunity to compete. We're going to have to earn our spots on the field.' One of North Carolina's latest portal additions is Boise State linebacker Andrew Simpson, who played a major role in helping the Broncos make their first-ever College Football Playoff appearance last season. Simpson started 11 games – and should slot in as a Day One starter for the Tar Heels. North Carolina didn't know if Max Johnson, its 2024 initial starting quarterback, would be ready by the start of training camp. The Tar Heels nabbed South Alabama quarterback Gio Lopez, who thrived in 2024 as a first-time starting QB, in the transfer portal.
