Towards the end of last year, talk reached fever pitch that McCoist was set to appear on the recent series of I'm A Celebrity Get Me Out of Here.
He'd previously turned down an appearance on the hit ITV show in 2019 and again in 2022.
Unfortunately for anyone keen to see Coisty getting stuck into things Down Under, he quickly confirmed he WOULDN'T be appearing.
Amid the rife rumours at the end of last year, he said: "No, there's your answer.
"It's brilliant, my wee mate Durranty phoned me, he says, 'What a decision you've got to make.'
"'Sitting on the half way line in the best seats in the house, at the San Siro watching Inter Milan vs Man City or Inter Milan vs Arsenal, or eating a bag of spiders.'
"It's not bad, is it?"
Two people who certainly seem keen to see McCoist head for the jungle are his talkSPORT Breakfast co-presenter Alan Brazil and Roman Kemp, who appeared on the 2019 edition of I'm A Celebrity.
BBC presenter Kemp joined McCoist and Brazil on talkSPORT Breakfast to discuss Arsenal's clash with PSG in the Champions League tonight.
Kemp's a huge Arsenal fan, while McCoist is in Paris to cover the game for TNT Sports.
Prince William made TNT Sports pundits 'nervous' before viral interview at PSG vs Aston Villa clash
But Brazil couldn't help but turn the conversation to I'm A Celebrity before letting Kemp head off.
Brazil asked: "Roman, you came third in 2019 in the jungle, has Mr McCoist got the patience for that?
"Could he be in there? Should he be there? Could he win it?"
Urging McCoist to take the leap and head onto the programme, Kemp said: "Literally, Ally please do it.
"I will say from me, Ally, it is the best time you would ever have and you would be phenomenal."
McCoist replied: 'Honestly?"
Kemp then told the Scotland legend that he'd WIN the show if he went on it.
He added: "Yeah - I think you would be amazing. I think you'd be the best TV and also Alan would be here you know voting for you to eat kangaroo parts..
"Put it this way, I'm going to say this first. I'm gonna say this first. If you do it, you win it."
Laughing, McCoist replied: "That's very kind of you, that's a bit of a sweeping statement, Roman."
Brazil then joked: "Roman, what you forgot to say is, did you mention 750 grand for getting in there? That might change his mind, don't worry about that."
Undeterred, Kemp quipped: "ITV have got the money, don't worry."

Liverpool given Marc Guehi boost as wantaway star's transfer preference emerges

Liverpool are edging closer to the signing of Marc Guehi while Harvey Elliott could be on his way out as Arne Slot aims to streamline his squad for the upcoming season Strike while the iron's hot, they say, and Liverpool have done exactly that this summer. Boasting their newfound status as Premier League champions, the Reds have already spent more than £200million. June alone saw the arrivals of Florian Wirtz, Milos Kerkez and Jeremie Frimpong while Trent Alexander-Arnold was the big-name departure. There are plenty more ins and outs expected to occur over the coming weeks, as we approach pre-season. ‌ The Reds will head to Asia later this month for a tour, with the squad firstly set to meet up for training in Kirkby next Monday, July 7. But there could be a fourth signing between now and then, with a deal for Marc Guehi in the pipeline. ‌ There's now been an update on the Crystal Palace defender as well as the future of Harvey Elliott. The Reds midfielder could be one of several players to leave for pastures new before the summer transfer window closes on September 1. Here's a round-up of the latest transfer news from Anfield. Reds get Guehi boost Crystal Palace are one step away from acquiring their replacement for Marc Guehi, boosting Liverpool's chances of signing the England international. The Eagles have agreed the basics of a deal to sign Ousmane Diomande, 21, from Sporting Lisbon. Portuguese outlet A Bola report that Palace have landed on a €55million (£47m) fee for the Ivorian centre-back. All that's left is to settle Diomande's sell-on clause and if things go smoothly on Palace's end, it'll open the door for Guehi to leave Selhurst Park, having entered the final year of his contract. ‌ Elliott preference emerges Harvey Elliott wants to join a Champions League club if he leaves Liverpool this summer. Elliott, 22, was named player of the tournament as England won the under-21 European Championship after he scored five goals in six games. But the midfielder's future is uncertain. The Athletic report that Liverpool would be willing to accept a fee in excess of £40m if a buy-back clause is inserted, or above £50m without one. ‌ Arsenal enter Ekitike race Arsenal have joined the race for Eintracht Frankfurt striker Hugo Ekitike, who's been linked with a move to Liverpool. France youth international Ekitike has also attracted interest from Manchester United and Chelsea, having netted 22 goals and laid on 12 assists last season. German publication Bild claim that Arsenal have 'suddenly' turned their attention the 23-year-old as an alternative to top targets Viktor Gyokeres and Benjamin Sesko. It's added that Eintracht are holding out for a bid worth between €80m and €100m (£68m and £85m). Join our new WhatsApp community and receive your daily dose of Mirror Football content. Leah Williamson sends England greatness message aftter Arsenal triumph

Five members of England's Euro 2025 squad played for Arsenal in their Women's Champions League final win, including Lionesses captain and centre-back Leah Williamson Leah Williamson hopes she and her Arsenal team-mates in the England squad can use their Champions League success to set themselves up for Euro 2025 glory. Lionesses captain Williamson was one of five members of Sarina Wiegman's squad involved as Arsenal beat Barcelona in Lisbon in May to be crowned the best club side in Europe. Alessia Russo and on-loan Chloe Kelly both started the 1-0 victory, while Beth Mead and Lotte Wubben-Moy came off the bench. The quintet have all travelled to Switzerland, where the Euros holders kick off their title defence against France on July 5, and Williamson was asked how that club success might help spur on the national team. ‌ 'I think winning breeds a winning mentality - the consistency of it,' Williamson told UEFA. 'That's what they always say, 'To be great, you don't just win once, you win twice,' and so on and so forth. ‌ 'So it's a really good feeling to bank and just have that, and I do think it makes you a lot more hungry than you previously were. So I'm hoping that the experience isn't going to be of detriment to us at all, and another big moment, a big opportunity and we took it, so even proving to yourself, I think it does a lot for your own confidence.' England boss Wiegman has already won the tournament twice - once with the Lionesses in 2022 and once with her home country, the Netherlands, in 2017. She also led both nations to World Cup finals, with England losing to Spain in Australia in 2023, but insisted the hunger for more success is still there. 'Of course, we're defending our title, but as I said, we want to chase more,' Wiegman said. 'This is an opportunity, because if you see our group it's a very exciting, challenging group. 'From the beginning I feel like we play three finals straight away, so that's what we're going to chase for and show how good we are and that we can take our level to the next stage. That's what's necessary too, because the women's game in all areas is moving forward so quickly.' England will follow their opener against France with a game against the Netherlands on July 9, with the final group game taking place against Wales on July 13. 'We try to turn every stone to get as best prepared as we can be before we go into the tournament, and get every player fit and fresh to perform under the highest pressure, and then get ready for the next game,' Wiegman added. 'Your programme needs to be top, top level but you need a little bit of luck, too, at [times]. Trying to create momentum and getting that togetherness in the team, the excitement that we're ready to go. And I can feel it already!' Wimbledon briefing: Day two recap, Wednesday's order of play and Brits to watch

Wednesday's schedule sees British qualifier Oliver Tarvet take on defending champion Carlos Alcaraz on Centre Court while Emma Raducanu and Katie Boulter are among six other British players in second-round action. Here, the PA news agency looks back at Tuesday's events and previews what is to come on day three of the Championships. Draper's dream start Jack Draper (right) eased through his first-round match (Adam Davy/PA) Jack Draper was given the most comfortable of passages through to the second round of Wimbledon when opponent Sebastian Baez pulled out injured. The Argentinian twice consulted medical staff for what appeared to be a right leg issue after slipping early in the second set and called it quits trailing 6-2 6-2 2-1. Draper had been in control from the moment the contest started on Court One and, while a short outing in the heat might have seemed optimal, the 23-year-old said: 'I wanted to play a bit longer in all honesty.' Seeds make swift exits Coco Gauff was the biggest first-round casualty (Ian Walton/AELTC) Four of the top 10 players in both the men's and women's draw are out the tournament already. Women's second seed Coco Gauff's defeat on Court One on Tuesday night saw her follow Jessica Pegula (seeded three), Zheng Qinwen (five) and Paula Badosa (nine) through the exit door. On the men's side, third seed Alexander Zverev and Lorenzo Musetti (seven) were both beaten the day after Holger Rune (eight) and Daniil Medvedev (nine) were sent packing. Brit watch Oliver Tarvet will take on Carlos Alcaraz (Mike Egerton/PA) Monday's record-breaking seven British winners all return to the court on Wednesday looking to reach the third round. Emma Raducanu faces a tough test against 2023 champion Marketa Vondrousova in the prime time slot on Centre Court, while British number two Katie Boulter and number three Sonay Kartal both take on unseeded opponents after headline-grabbing first-round wins. Qualifier Oliver Tarvet has the most eye-catching match against defending champion Carlos Alcaraz, while Cameron Norrie will play 12th seed Frances Tiafoe and Arthur Fery and Billy Harris face Italian Luciano Darderi and Portugal's Nuno Borges respectively. Match of the day Emma Raducanu memorably beat Marketa Vondrousova in 2021 (Adam Davy/PA) Emma Raducanu's second-round clash with Marketa Vondrousova will be a real draw on day three as two former grand slam champions meet at a relatively early stage of the tournament. Raducanu won the US Open aged just 18, prior to which she made her main-draw Wimbledon debut during the same season and beat Vondrousova in a memorable match on her way to the third round. Vondrousova, who won Wimbledon in 2023, comes into the tie in good grass form having won the Berlin Open earlier this month and will be hoping to turn the tables on the British star. Order of play Centre Court (from 1.30pm) Aryna Sabalenka (10 v Marie Bouzkova Oliver Tarvet v Carlos Alcaraz (2) Emma Raducanu v Marketa Vondrousova Court One (from 1pm) Cameron Norrie v Frances Tiafoe (12) Katie Boulter v Solana Sierra Taylor Fritz (5) v Gabriel Diallo Weather Cloudy changing to sunny intervals by lunchtime, with a maximum temperature of 27C, according to the Met Office.
