Amaravati, Jun 25 (PTI) Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu on Wednesday said here that he will personally reach out to top leadership of India's top 100 companies to participate in his poverty alleviation programme called P4 or Public Private People Partnership (PPPP).
'The chief minister said he would personally reach out to CEOs, COOs, CFOs, MDs, and chairpersons of the top 100 companies to invite their participation in the program (programme),' said an official press release, following a review by Naidu on P4.
P4 is aimed at uplifting underprivileged families under the guidance of affluent people in society.
It aims to eradicate poverty with the top 10 per cent of affluent people in the society adopting the bottom 20 per cent to handhold, guide, advise and mentor them for empowerment, including spending financial resources on Bangaru Kutumbams.
According to the CM, many people in society are interested in helping the poor in some way and suggested transforming P4 into a platform for them.
Addressing the national executive committee meeting of the Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FICCI) in Vijayawada today, Naidu proposed P4 to its members.
He emphasised the need to focus more on connecting guides with Bangaru Kutumbam families and also engaging with potential guides.
A dedicated call centre has been set up by the government to monitor the programme daily, said the press release.
Naidu also announced plans to interact virtually with Telugu people living in India and abroad to explain the importance and goals of this poverty alleviation programme and invite them to become guides.
He shared the idea of appointing NRIs as P4 advisors and encouraging them to serve as guides, stated the press release.
Calling for regular auditing of the P4 implementation, Naidu said there should be quarterly reviews and timely feedback to the guides on the impact of P4 through reports.
Likewise, he floated the idea of organising special events with industrialists, NRIs, celebrities and people from elite sections of the society to explain the P4 concept and invite them to participate as Margadarsis.
The CM directed officials to establish systems that provide necessary information and guidance to those interested in becoming guides.
Further, he observed that surveys should be undertaken to assess the conditions of families before and after their adoption as Bangaru families to evaluate improvements in their living standards.
The TDP supremo suggested that March 30, the launch date of P4, be celebrated annually to showcase the achievements of the programme.
During the review, Naidu focused on the identification of Margadarsis and the selection of beneficiaries. Officials apprised him that out of 19,15,771 Bangaru Kutumbam families identified across the state under the P4 model, 87,395 families have so far been adopted by Margadarsis.

'In 2020–21, the total collection was ₹ 11.37 lakh crore, with a monthly average of ₹ 95,000 crore. The following year, it rose to ₹ 14.83 lakh crore, and then to ₹ 18.08 lakh crore in 2022–23. In 2023–24, GST collections reached ₹ 20.18 lakh crore, showing consistent growth in compliance and economic activity,' said the government in the release. On 1 July 2025, India will mark the completion of eight years since the implementation of the GST. The gross GST collections for May 2025 witnessed a 16.4 per cent rise to over ₹ 2.01 lakh crore, reported news agency PTI, citing government data on 1 June 2025. MoEF trying to 'subvert' FRA: Over 90 forest rights groups writes to PM
Over 90 forest rights groups have written to Prime Minister Narendra Modi, alleging that the Union environment ministry is attempting to "subvert" the Forest Rights Act (FRA) and demanding that Environment Minister Bhupender Yadav clarify his reported statement that the "FRA leads to forest degradation." PTI reached out to the Ministry of Environment, Forest and Climate Change for comment. A response is awaited. The groups, comprising Chhattisgarh Bachao Andolan and Himdhara Environment Research and Action Collective of Himachal, among others, said in their June 28 letter, copies of which have been sent to the National Commission for Scheduled Tribes (NCST) and the ministries of Environment, Tribal Affairs and Social Justice, that Yadav, in a statement published in a newspaper on June 5, "cited titles granted under the FRA as a reason for forest degradation." They called the statement "false, misleading, legally untenable and an attempt to undermine the legitimacy of the FRA." They alleged that it is part of a "consistent series of subversion" by the environment ministry, which, along with the forest bureaucracy, has "stiffly resisted and disrupted" the implementation of the FRA for the last 16 years. The groups pointed to a 2009 report submitted by the ministry to the Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO), which said that the FRA had assigned rights to protect approximately 40 million hectares of community forest resources to village-level democratic institutions and that other forest-related laws needed to be fine-tuned in light of the Act. According to the law, the rights of forest dwellers recognised and vested under the FRA must be determined, demarcated, recognised and recorded. Only after this process is completed can the extent of encroachment be determined and, subsequently, eviction proceedings be initiated under state laws. The FRA prohibits eviction under Section 4(5) without satisfactory completion of this process. The groups also alleged that the National Tiger Conservation Authority, on June 19 last year, ordered the expedited relocation of 64,801 families from core areas of tiger reserves, in "complete violation" of the FRA, the Wildlife Protection Act of 1972 and other applicable legal frameworks. They claimed that this has increased the risk of displacement, forced evictions, curtailment of rights and criminalisation of forest dwellers, pushing many into states of economic and social insecurity across the country. The letter also pointed out that the "India State of Forest Report 2023," published by the Forest Survey of India, blamed titles issued under the FRA for negative changes in forest and tree cover. The groups expressed concern over recent amendments to the Forest Conservation Act, 1980 (now renamed Van Sanrakshan Evam Samvardhan Adhiniyam, 1980), which were passed despite strong opposition from constitutional bodies like the NCST, scientists, conservationists, forest rights groups and forest-dwelling communities. They warned that these changes would "adversely impact India's forest and ecological security". The groups urged the prime minister to immediately halt what they termed as the environment ministry's attempts to subvert the FRA. They also demanded that Yadav publicly clarify and withdraw his statement linking the FRA to forest degradation and that the ministry immediately inform the Supreme Court and the NGT about the legal status of forest encroachments under the FRA, clearly stating that no action on encroachment can be taken until the FRA implementation process is complete.
