Kim Kardashian is set to play the villain in the Bratz movie.
The 44-year-old star will be involved in the film as a producer but insiders claim that she is wanted to portray the antagonist in the project, which Amazon MGM has won a competitive bidding war for.
The live-action movie about the toy dolls will be written by Charlie Polinger and Lucy McKendrick alongside Erik Feig and Julia Hammer for Picturestart while Kim will produce the flick with Jason and Jasmin Larian for MGA Entertainment.
No further details about the film's cast or plot have been released as yet.
It is hoped that the Bratz film can replicate the success of 2023's Barbie - which grossed over $1 billion at the box office - and it joins film versions of children's toys Polly Pocket, Barney and Hot Wheels that are currently in development at various Hollywood studios.
Bratz has sold over more than 200 million dolls since 2001 and Amazon MGM claims that the toys have the highest social media engagement across all platforms of any toy brand.
However, this is not guaranteed to translate to success on the big screen as a 2007 Lionsgate Bratz picture disappointed at the box office.
Kim has stepped up her acting career in recent times with a central role in the upcoming legal TV series All's Fair and her co-star Glenn Close didn't feel it was necessary to give the reality star any advice about the profession.
The Fatal Attraction star, who has worked with some of Hollywood's biggest names during her career, told DailyMail.com: "I would not presume to give Kim Kardashian advice. I think she's a very, very brilliant woman. I think she could choose to do anything she wants.
"Frankly, if she wants to be an actress, that's one road. But she could be. She's a great executive. She's a great businesswoman. She's a very, very involved mother. She's getting her law degree. So, I think she has huge potential and that she's fulfilled already as a woman. And frankly, I will be fascinated to see what she chooses to do."
Glenn revealed that she was impressed with The Kardashians star's "professional" approach on set as she balanced her acting work with her responsibilities as a mother and businesswoman.
The 78-year-old actress said: "First of all, she's very professional. She was also - she has an amazing ability to compartmentalise. She would be talking to her kids. She'd be studying for a law exam, then she'd having a board meeting for Skims, and then she'd be, you know, walking on set."
Close also explained that she was "very impressed" by Kardashian as a person.
She said: "I mean, I really love her. I think she has a public image, right? I don't spend a lot of time on Instagram, but her as a person, as a woman, I was very impressed."

British star Matthew Goode reveals dark reason Bond producers rejected him

Matthew Goode has revealed the dark reason James Bond producers rejected him moments after meeting him. James Bond bosses have been whittling down the long list of actors for years in a desperate bid to find the man who will replace Daniel Craig. Barbara Broccoli, 65, along with her brother Michael G. Wilson, 83, were the producers of the Bond franchise before they were replaced by Amazon MGM Studios for a massive $1 billion dollar deal in February. And before they chose Craig, Dept. Q star Goode revealed on Thursday's episode of the Happy Sad Confused podcast that he was personally invited for a sit down chat with the producers who were seemingly interested in potentially having him be the new Bond before the role eventually went to Craig. However, sadly the meeting didn't go as the actor had planned. 'I didn't get to the audition,' remarked the star. 'But it was quite a funny one because — and she's gorgeous and just a lovely, lovely person — she was like, 'So what's your idea for Bond?' And I was like, 'My idea for Bond. We've gotta take it back to the books, you know? Really, we absolutely have to make this guy an alcoholic, a drug addict. He hates himself. He hates women. He hates a lot of people. He's in deep pain. He's brilliant at killing people.'' Goode confessed that his vision for the character didn't end up sitting well with the then producers, who swiftly dismissed him from the meeting. Goode reflected: 'I think by the end of the interview, she was like, 'Mhmm. Next.' I wanted to make it really dark.' 'I should have said was, 'But also incredibly charming.'' laughed the star. 'Ultimately, you know. What they did get was Daniel Craig.' Meanwhile, the rumour mill has been continually whirring as to who will take on the iconic 007 gig. But most recently, it was Aaron Taylor-Johnson who has dropped hints that he'll be stepping into Bond's shoes. The Marvel movie star, 34, recently signed a deal with Omega – the brand of watch the 007 spy wears. Omega has been supplying timepieces to the iconic movie character since the release of 1995's Golden Eye. When asked previously whether he would step into Bond's shoes, the Marvel star said: 'I find it charming and wonderful that people see me in that role. I take it as a great compliment.'

Katy Perry's dramatic move as Orlando Bloom parties in Italy following reported split

Katy Perry has seemingly taken action to block out the noise as she enjoys some time off in Australia amid claims she and Orlando Bloom have broken up. It's been widely reported that the Roar singer, 40, has been telling her inner circle that their relationship of nearly 10 years is over. The pair share a daughter, Daisy Dove, four. Perry is currently performing her Lifetimes tour in Australia, and eagle-eyed fans have now noticed she's disabled comments on Instagram. Bloom was also spotted in Australia recently, with a source telling People that it was in order to have some 'special dad and daughter time'. 'Daisy's very cute. Orlando was in a great mood and made every outing fun for her,' the insider told the publication. 'He looked like a very caring dad.' Despite being on the exclusive guest list for Lauren Sanchez's hen's party earlier this year, Perry will not be at her star-studded wedding to billionaire Jeff Bezos in Italy this weekend. Bloom, however, has been seen partying with A-listers, including Kim and Khloe Kardashian, Oprah Winfrey, and Leonardo DiCaprio, who are gathered in Venice for the multimillion-dollar nuptials. Speculation about Perry and Bloom's relationship has hit fever pitch in recent days, with The Sun reporting the singer had told friends it was over months ago. 'Katy confided in friends at the start of the year that their relationship was as good as done,' the source said. 'They decided to hold off on announcing anything in case things improved between them, because they are desperate to stay together for the sake of their daughter. 'But they have spent barely any time together this year, with Katy on tour and Orlando working on his upcoming film Bucking Fastard in Dublin. 'She knew that taking off her engagement ring would send a clear message. 'It's been a hard year so far. They wanted to wait until the tour is over before they made their split official, although Katy has grown tired of the situation.' The couple have dated on and off for nine years after first sparking up a romance in 2016. They got engaged in 2019, and welcomed their daughter the following year.

Leonardo DiCaprio makes ultimate power move at billionaire's wedding

OPINION Leonardo DiCaprio turning up to a billionaire's wedding festivities in a plain black cap is the ultimate power move. The 50-year-old movie star and Academy Award winner was seen heading to Amazon billionaire Jeff Bezos and Lauren Sanchez's pre-wedding dinner in Venice, Italy. You might have thought such an occasion would call for a black-tie look. You'd have been mistaken. You have to give it to the movie star; there's nothing quite like the power move of dressing a little bit down for the wedding event of the year. The outfit, in general, is pretty normal. The 50-year-old is wearing a plain suit, which is understated compared to his celebrity peers. Keep in mind Brad Pitt, 61, is rolling around in bucket hats these days, and the billionaire groom has a loud shirt collection that should be feared, studied and respected. There's really nothing particularly remarkable about DiCaprio's wedding attire except for the pesky hat. I haven't seen a hat steal the show this much since Guy Sebastian's fedora era, where his love of little hats was on the brink of overshadowing his music career at one point. The hat is only made more comical by comparison to what other celebrities are wearing and the effort they've put into it. DiCaprio's model girlfriend Vittoria Ceretti, 27, is wandering around dressed like Cinderella. She's even gone as far as to wear ruffles. Kim Kardashian and the entire Kardashian gang have turned up in skin-tight dresses and they've gone heavy-handed with hair extensions; Ivanka Trump is in a gorgeous gown, and even Oprah has gone all out. Meanwhile the infamous hat DiCaprio is rocking resembles something you'd wear when trying to reach your 10,000 steps or if you wanted to look inconspicuous while conducting some low-key detective work. I'm thinking it is something you'd wear when you are snooping out the front of your neighbours' so you can stuff some rubbish in their bin because yours is overflowing. DiCaprio was dressed more like he was working in sales and going to a client lunch on a causal Friday than attending a wedding that is rumoured to have cost over $60 million, and that is one of the more conservative estimates. Perhaps DiCaprio was wearing the little black hat to avoid the paparazzi. Still, you'd assume if you value your privacy that much, you wouldn't bother to attend a highly publicised billionaire wedding at which Oprah is a guest. DiCaprio has clearly made an effort to attend and torn himself away from his lifestyle of hanging out with models on yachts. That shows a fair amount of commitment to the nuptials, but the hat … well, the hat just feels like nothing short of a power move. While the rest of the celebrities are practically fawning over the billionaire ceremony, DiCaprio has chosen quite literally to keep his hat on and play it cool.
