Kap's Caffe, the newly opened Surrey café owned by comedian Kapil Sharma and his wife Ginni Chatrath, has issued its first official statement following a violent vandalism attack on its premises earlier this week. In an emotional note shared via social media, the café team said, 'We opened Kap's Caffe with hopes of bringing warmth, community, and joy through delicious coffee and friendly conversation. To have violence intersect with that dream is heartbreaking. We are processing this shock, but we are not giving up."
The statement also thanked patrons for their support during this difficult time. 'Your kind words, prayers, and memories shared via DM mean more than you know. This café exists because of your belief in what we're building together," it added. Concluding on a hopeful note, the café wrote, 'Let's stand firm against violence and ensure Kap's Caffe remains a place of warmth and community."
Kapil Sharma's Canada Café Attacked
The attack, which took place late Sunday night, is being investigated by Canadian authorities as a targeted act of vandalism. According to security officials, the incident is suspected to be linked to the Laddi gang, a criminal outfit affiliated with the banned Khalistani terrorist group Babbar Khalsa International (BKI). The café had recently held a soft launch and gained attention for its elegant interior design and community-focused vibe. While no injuries were reported, the property sustained significant damage.

Law enforcement officials are focusing on Germany-based BKI operative Harjit Singh alias Laddi, who is already wanted in India for a series of terror-related offences, including the assassination of Hindu leader Prabhakar in Punjab earlier this year. The National Investigation Agency (NIA) has announced a ₹10 lakh reward for information leading to Laddi's arrest, underscoring the gravity of his suspected involvement in cross-border extremist activities.

Vizag police track Odisha man over bid to sell kidney
Visakhapatnam: Vizag city police have formed a special team to probe the involvement of Odisha-based person Anand, suspected to be a doctor, in the alleged organ trade attempt in Vizag city. Although the illegal kidney transplantation did not occur, the police dispatched a team to Odisha to establish the doctor's actions. The incident surfaced following a conversation on June 30 between two individuals, Rangababu and Ch Yeshu Raju, both friends and natives of Eluru, at a hotel under fourth-town police station jurisdiction in Vizag city. The alleged kidney sale discussed has brought to light the suspected organ trade activity and the purported involvement of Anand from Odisha. According to police, K Rangababu and Ch Yeshu Raju arrived in Vizag city and lodged in a hotel room that an Odisha native had booked. Rangababu told his friend Yeshu Raju about his intention to sell his kidney to address financial difficulties. Acting on details provided by the hotel staff, police questioned both individuals. Further enquiries revealed that Anand had reserved a room in the same Vizag city hotel in Jan 2025, citing that three individuals from Odisha would be staying for three days. These guests occupied the room from Jan 28 to 30 and left at midnight on Jan 30 without notifying hotel staff and Anand failed to pay the room charges. The hotel staff attempted to contact Anand but their attempts proved futile. Anand again booked a room in the same hotel on May 16 for one person, however no one occupied. Vizag city police chief Shanka Brata Bagchi said a team is on the job to determine whether Anand is a fake doctor or a genuine medical practitioner. The team will interrogate Anand to expose the alleged links between Anand and other persons. A case under Section 318 of BNS (cheating) was booked.

Cyber slavery racket: Two more agents held, 4 rescued from Cambodia
1 2 3 Visakhapatnam: The police have issued an advisory on rising cases of cyber slavery in Southeast Asian nations. People in search of jobs abroad are being lured by fake agents and later forced to commit cyber frauds to survive. The Vizag city police have arrested two more agents and rescued four youngsters who were being trafficked to Cambodia. The accused, identified as Yelliti Suresh and R. Adi Lakshmi, are residents of the Gajuwaka locality in Vizag. The duo had lured unemployed youth with promises of lucrative jobs abroad. Vizag city police commissioner Shanka Brata Bagchi said the gang's kingpin, Vijay Kumar alias Sunny, is operating from Cambodia and has recruited youngsters from various parts of Andhra Pradesh and Telangana to carry out cybercrimes. He added that more than 150 people from Vizag are currently working in Cambodia in cyber fraud operations. It may be recalled that the Vizag police arrested Mukhesh, a native of Anakapalle district, last month for allegedly attempting to deceive unemployed youngsters with fake job offers and push them into cyber slavery in Laos. US designates Pakistani group LeT's proxy The Resistance Front as global terrorists over Pahalgam attack
The United States on Thursday (July 17) designated The Resistance Front (TRF) as a Foreign Terrorist Organization (FTO) and Specially Designated Global Terrorist (SDGT), citing its role in the April 22 Pahalgam massacre in Kashmir that killed 26 civilians. Announcing the designation, Secretary of State Marco Rubio described TRF as a 'front and proxy' of the Pakistan-based Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT), which is already listed as a terrorist group by both the United Nations and the United States. 'These actions demonstrate the Trump administration's commitment to protecting our national security interests, countering terrorism, and enforcing President Trump's call for justice for the Pahalgam attack,' Rubio said in a statement. The Pahalgam terror attack shocked the region. Survivors told media that armed militants targeted Hindu civilians, reportedly separating women and children before ordering male victims to recite the Muslim declaration of faith. Most of the 26 victims were Hindus. TRF claimed responsibility for the massacre shortly after, though little was previously known about the group, a 'smokescreen' created by LeT to operate under a different name and mask its Pakistan-based support. In response to the Pahalgam killings, India launched Operation Sindoor, targeted strikes on terror networks across the Line of Control and into Pakistani territory. While Islamabad condemned the violence, it denied any connection to the attack or to TRF's operations. The US designation puts additional pressure on Pakistan to crack down on terror proxies operating from its soil. It also enables US authorities to block TRF's assets and prohibit material support to the group.
