Champaign man hospitalized in Saturday night shooting

CHAMPAIGN, Ill. (WCIA) — A 21-year-old Champaign man was hurt after a shooting on Saturday.
Officers with the Champaign Police Department responded to the area of Giboney and Tower Streets around 10:40 p.m. after a report that shots had been fired nearby. Police were able to locate an area with evidence of gunfire in the 1400 block of Clock Street.
22-year-old Danville man dead after motorcycle crash
Around the same time police were searching for evidence, a man who had been shot walked into an area hospital with wounds in the arm and torso. Police said the man received medical treatment and is hospitalized in stable condition.
After investigating, police learned that the 21-year-old was driving through an alley near Clock Street when unknown subjects fired at his vehicle, hitting him in the process. Police were able to find one vehicle that was damaged in this incident.
Champaign police remained in the area for several hours to collect evidence, and search for witnesses and video footage that could help the investigation. No arrests have been made as of Sunday afternoon, and the investigation is ongoing.

Two dead, one in critical condition after hit and run on Siksika Nation: RCMP

Two people are dead and one person is in critical condition after a vehicle collision on Siksika Nation, say RCMP. Gelichen RCMP responded to a collision involving pedestrians at 9:30 p.m. Saturday on Siksika Nation, RCMP said in a release. 'Five people were walking when they were hit by a vehicle,' according to police. Two residents of Siksika Nation — a 27-year-old man and a 45-year-old man — were pronounced dead, while a 45-year-old woman, also a Siksika Nation resident, is in critical condition. Two other people were uninjured. The vehicle fled the scene. The RCMP major crimes unit is investigating. RCMP ask anyone who has video footage of the area between 8 and 10 p.m. to contact them.
