Falcons Named in Trade Idea for Patriots' Veteran WR
The Atlanta Falcons could be making an intriguing move by trading for New England Patriots wide receiver Kendrick Bourne.

According to Heavy's Daniel Arwas, the Falcons could use a shifty slot receiver, while also taking some of the burden off New England's crowded receiver room. Bourne is entering his ninth NFL season and fits the profile of a potential trade piece, as well as a possible cut candidate.
"The player that makes the most sense for a trade at this point is Kendrick Bourne, whose combination of previous production and experience, yet lower future upside over the next few years, makes him about the best candidate to be moved," Arwas said.

The potential return would be a seventh-round draft pick in 2026, giving the Falcons little to lose if Bourne does not work out. Arwas noted that Bourne, who turns 30 years old in August, offers a specific value to a young quarterback like Michael Penix.

"The depth chart at receiver looks exceptionally thin," Arwas said. "Bourne is a proven talent who has shown the ability to make plays over the middle – something that is notoriously valuable for young quarterbacks."
The Falcons have just under $5 million in cap space, which is the third-lowest in the NFL. That means Bourne's $5.5 million base salary would automatically put Atlanta over the cap. That does put a wrench in this plan for Arwas. Bourne would either have to agree to a restructured contract or the team would release a different player to make space.
Regardless, it is becoming increasingly likely that the Patriots unload Bourne one way or another.

Rays place All-Star first baseman Jonathan Aranda on injured list with a fractured left wrist
TAMPA, Fla. (AP) — The Tampa Bay Rays placed All-Star first baseman Jonathan Aranda on the 10-day injured list Friday with a fractured left wrist. Aranda was injured Thursday in a collision with New York Yankees designated hitter Giancarlo Stanton. Aranda said the injury did not feel 'catastrophic' and he's hopeful he'll return this season, although the Rays cautioned he won't be able to use the wrist for approximately three weeks. "I think he has re-imaging in about three weeks, but we will continue to remain optimistic.' Stanton hit a soft grounder in the fifth inning to third baseman Junior Caminero, who charged in on wet grass to field the ball. Aranda reached for Caminero's wide toss that sailed into the runner, and his left wrist appeared to hit Stanton's left shoulder. Aranda, a first-time All-Star, is batting .316 with 12 home runs, 54 RBIs in 103 games this season. He has a .394 on-base percentage, and an .872 OPS, making him one of the majors' most dangerous hitters. Cash shifted Yandy Díaz to first base in Aranda's absence. The Rays reinstated Ha-Seong Kim from the IL and recalled Tristan Gray from Triple-A Durham. Young leads at weather-hit PGA Wyndham Championship
American Cameron Young had a one-shot lead with three holes remaining when play was suspended Friday in the weather-hit PGA Tour Wyndham Championship in North Carolina. Young had seven birdies without a bogey through 15 holes and was 14-under for the tournament, one stroke in front of defending champion Aaron Rai of England, who was 13-under with five holes to play. Mac Meissner and South Korean Im Sung-jae were the leaders in the clubhouse on 12-under 128. Meissner had eight birdies in his seven-under 63 and Im had an eagle and four birdies in his six-under 64.
