Is Drake London a dynasty goldmine?

Yahoo Fantasy analysts Matt Harmon and Justin Boone look at the 24-year old receiver's fantasy future paired with quarterback Michael Penix. View more Video Transcript And I don't know if I've ever heard your take on Drake London, but man, to get a 24 year old receiver, a guy who's, you know, coming off this breakout year who before last year had terrible quarterback play and then last year gets decent quarterback play and explodes, right, has a ton of volume, a ton of production, you know, this season, finished 5th among PPR fantasy wide receivers. He's behind only Chase, Jefferson, Amon-Ra St. Brown, and Byron Thomas. Like, what a year for him. He was 6th in targets per game on the year, and when they turned to Michael Penix at the end of the season for those last 3 games, he was actually tied. London was tied for the number one fantasy wideout during those 3 weeks. He was averaging 23.1 PPR fantasy points per game. So I think, and again, this is not guaranteed to happen, this is not even likely. It is a long shot, but I think he's a guy that people aren't talking enough about as somebody that could potentially push for that number one receiver spot overall. Like this guy could lead the league in targets this year. That is not a crazy thing to say in my mind. He might have had like the quietest near 1300 yard season in NFL history. Michael Penix is, what, like the I don't know, 18th best quarterback in the league, like, yeah, he could easily be a consensus first round startup pick in Drake London, frankly, like, I don't know, maybe he should already be there. I think the fact that he got him, or that he went here in the, what, like, yeah, you got him in the late 2nd round. That's great value because this is where I think people jump the shark with the age stuff. Like, I think basically on most dynasty rankings, Drake London is behind neighbors who went in the first round here. He's behind Brian Thomas Jr. Who did go in the 2nd round, and I'm very optimistic on I, he's gonna come up and that could be a 1st round pick next year. But he's only 2 years older than Drake London than these guys. It's not as if he's some like, all right, well, he's already cooked. And there's every reason to think Drake London could be just as productive as those guys for the next three or so years. So, yeah, I love your inclusion of him here. He's a great football player, somebody I've been super high on as a very underrated, like separator, basically since he came into the league out of USC, the guy is awesome and I love the situation for him this year. 4 best Kirk Cousins trade landing spots before training camp

Just a year after signing a four-year, $180 million contract, Kirk Cousins is no longer 100% committed to playing football for the Atlanta Falcons. Of course, it doesn't help that they didn't hold up their end of the bargain by making Michael Penix a first-round pick just a month after seemingly making Cousins their franchise quarterback. Nevertheless, now that Penix has overtaken Cousins for Atlanta's starting QB job, it's clear where the Falcons' loyalties lie, and it's not with the soon-to-be 37-year-old. Cousins knows he's no longer the alpha in Atlanta, and he'd prefer to land in a situation that better offers him a chance to see the field as his career winds down. Advertisement Recently, Cousins has responded by skipping the Falcons' voluntary OTA sessions. This could be his first step toward demanding a trade out of Atlanta. If so, let's look at some potential landing spots for Cousins. Yet, this is a Super Bowl-caliber team that has far too much riding on the shoulders and legs of Jalen Hurts. Should their leader get hurt, the Eagles would hand the keys to their offense over to third-year pro Tanner McKee, but Cousins would be much more equipped for the job. Yet again, if Bo Nix suffered a significant injury, the Broncos would be forced to turn to Jarrett Stidham. While Payton may be keen on the veteran, he's not a better solution than Cousins, not for a team with hopes of returning to the playoffs. New Orleans Saints Credit: Stephen Lew-Imagn Images One of a few teams without a defined starting quarterback, the New Orleans Saints' situation is arguably the scariest in the league. Sure, there is a trio of young arms eager to compete for the job, but what if none of Tyler Shough, Spencer Rattler, or Jake Haener look capable of leading a winning effort? Unless Kellen Moore is cool with punting his first season on the job, then trying to pull off a rare inter-divisional trade for the Falcons' backup QB could make a lot of sense. If Aaron Rodgers decides he doesn't want to join the Pittsburgh Steelers, then the team will have to act quickly to find another highly capable starter. Pittsburgh won't find anyone more motivated than Cousins. Plus, if Arthur Smith can maximize the skillset of the four-time Pro Bowl QB, he just might get calls to be a head coach again. Falcons' $28 million backup: I was 'misled'

It seemed clear that the Atlanta Falcons pulled the rug out from under Kirk Cousins when they shocked everyone and picked Michael Penix with the eighth overall selection of the 2024 NFL Draft, just after the vet signed a big contract. Then again, maybe the franchise knew he'd throw a career-high 16 interceptions at age 36. And now, Cousins is talking about it on the latest season of Quarterback, the Netflix series focused on signal-callers in the NFL. He said he was "a little bit misled" when the Falcons took Penix. And here's more that he said, per ESPN: "Certainly, if I had the information around free agency, it certainly would've affected my decision. I had no reason to leave Minnesota with how much we loved it there if both teams are going to be drafting a quarterback high. But I've also learned in 12 years in this league that you're not entitled to anything. It's all about being able to earn your spot and prove yourself." Well said. He gets it, even if he was "misled." When is the premiere of Quarterback on Netflix? The whole series dropped on Tuesday, July 8 2025. Which quarterbacks are featured on Season 2 of Quarterback? Here's the full list:

Falcons Named in Trade Idea for Patriots' Veteran WR

Falcons Named in Trade Idea for Patriots' Veteran WR originally appeared on Athlon Sports. The Atlanta Falcons could be making an intriguing move by trading for New England Patriots wide receiver Kendrick Bourne. Advertisement According to Heavy's Daniel Arwas, the Falcons could use a shifty slot receiver, while also taking some of the burden off New England's crowded receiver room. Bourne is entering his ninth NFL season and fits the profile of a potential trade piece, as well as a possible cut candidate. "The player that makes the most sense for a trade at this point is Kendrick Bourne, whose combination of previous production and experience, yet lower future upside over the next few years, makes him about the best candidate to be moved," Arwas said. New England Patriots wide receiver Kendrick Bourne (84) warms up before a game against the Indianapolis Colts at Gillette Canha-Imagn Images The potential return would be a seventh-round draft pick in 2026, giving the Falcons little to lose if Bourne does not work out. Arwas noted that Bourne, who turns 30 years old in August, offers a specific value to a young quarterback like Michael Penix. Advertisement "The depth chart at receiver looks exceptionally thin," Arwas said. "Bourne is a proven talent who has shown the ability to make plays over the middle – something that is notoriously valuable for young quarterbacks." The Falcons have just under $5 million in cap space, which is the third-lowest in the NFL. That means Bourne's $5.5 million base salary would automatically put Atlanta over the cap. That does put a wrench in this plan for Arwas. Bourne would either have to agree to a restructured contract or the team would release a different player to make space. Regardless, it is becoming increasingly likely that the Patriots unload Bourne one way or another. College Football Program Called Out for Awful New Uniform Decision

College Football Program Called Out for Awful New Uniform Decision originally appeared on Athlon Sports. Over the past decade or so, the Washington Huskies have held a solid place in the world of college football, putting together successful runs that led them to the College Football Playoff in 2016 and 2023, with a national championship appearance with Michael Penix just two years ago. Advertisement However, the Huskies didn't do themselves any favors this week. To celebrate the doldrums of the offseason, Washington unveiled their new uniforms for the 2025 season, and while some fans may be in favor of the changes, the college football world at large is not quite on board with the new threads. The new look isn't much different from Washington's old look, other than the stripe down the side of the pants that don't quite match the gold helmets, and a few other small details. One of the biggest groups of fans ragging on the Huskies for the uniforms are the Oregon Ducks, who know a thing or two about new jerseys. After unveiling their own set of brand new looks a year ago, Duck fans had some thoughts on Friday. In general, the biggest complaint from fans is that the new look differs very little from the old look. More than that, Duck fans had some fun with minor details of the jerseys, and what they represent. Advertisement "3 stripes on the pants to commemorate every yard Jonah Coleman rushed for against Oregon," one Duck fan commented. Ultimately, a lot of Washington fans weren't in love with the new jerseys, but they didn't hate them. Ultimately, they only have one thing that they care about going into the new season: winning. "These will need to be fixed in the future. For now, go win some football games," one Husky fan said.
