American with 'CIA' credentials and variety of weapons arrested in Mexico
The unidentified man was arrested "for his probable involvement in the crimes of disturbing the peace and possession of weapons designated for exclusive use by the Army," according to the Secretariat of Security of the State of Mexico.
Authorities found six firearms, magazines, live ammunition and tactical equipment, the agency said.
"The individual was carrying a credential with the inscription 'CIA'," authorities wrote on X.
Images posted by the security agency showed rifles, handguns, tactical vests, helmets, pocket knives and ammunition.
The State Department told Fox News that it was aware of reports of the man's arrest.
An agency spokesperson said it has no higher priority than the safety and security of U.S. citizens abroad.'When a U.S. citizen is detained abroad, the department works to provide consular assistance," the spokesperson said.Mexican authorities have not disclosed any additional details about the man's arrest or why he was in the country.
Fox News Digital reached out to the Central Intelligence Agency, but did not immediately hear back early Sunday.

While Combs was not convicted of the most serious charges against him, he was convicted on two counts of transportation to engage in prostitution in the split verdict. This means he could face up to 20 years in prison if he is sentenced to consecutive maximum prison terms. The mogul — who has been in jail since September 2024 — was denied bail by Judge Arun Subramanian during the July 2 court date and will therefore have to remain in custody at Brooklyn's Metropolitan Detention Center until his sentencing on Oct. 3. Over the course of the trial, which began in May, prosecutors called 34 witnesses over a total of 29 days of testimony. San Jose police shooting under investigation after responding to family disturbance
San Jose police said they are investigating an officer-involved shooting that occurred on Sunday afternoon. Police said they responded to a home on Recife Way and Vargas Drive around 2:25 p.m. for a report of a family disturbance. "The involved suspect was armed with what appeared to be multiple firearms and resulted in an officer involved shooting," police said in a social media post. Some streets are closed in the area as the investigation is ongoing. No other details were released, including whether there were any injuries.

A shadowy CIA operative specializing in psychological warfare interacted with Lee Harvey Oswald ahead of President John F. Kennedy's assassination — and then ran interference against congressional investigators probing whether the US spy agency was connected to the killing, newly disclosed documents show. CIA officer George Joannides assumed the alias 'Howard Gleber' in January 1963, and led an American effort to infiltrate anti-communist Cuban student groups in the year leading up to JFK's killing that November, according to government documents released Thursday and reviewed by Axios. And a former investigator with the committee, Dan Hardway, testified in June that Joannides was behind a 'covert operation' to throw Congress off the CIA's trail. 'The cover story for Joannides is officially dead,' author and JFK assassination' expert Jefferson Morley told Axios. 'This is a big deal. The CIA is changing its tune on Lee Harvey Oswald.' '[The CIA] has fully complied and provided all documents — without redactions — related to the assassination of former President John F. Kennedy to NARA consistent with President Trump's direction in an unprecedented act of transparency by the agency,' a spokesperson for the agency told Axios.
