Oasis fans given 'be very careful' warning as they gather ahead of first reunion show

North Wales Live6 hours ago
Ahead of Oasis's eagerly awaited reunion gig on Friday (July 4), fans have been urged to "be very careful". Music enthusiasts are flocking to Cardiff in their thousands as the Gallagher brothers, Liam and Noel, prepare to share the stage for the first time in 16 years.
The band's much-anticipated world tour, spanning 41 dates, commences with performances at the Principality Stadium this weekend. Following this, they'll be heading to Manchester, London, Edinburgh, and Dublin for the UK and Ireland leg, before jetting off to international destinations including Canada, Los Angeles, Mexico, and Japan.
The Gallagher brothers' last joint performance was back in 2009, and tickets for their latest tour sold out within hours of being announced last year, reflecting fans' eagerness to witness the reunion, reports Wales Online.
Ahead of the reunion tour starting tonight, ITV Lorraine star Claer Barrett issued a warning to viewers about the rise in ticket scams.
"There are last-minute ticket deals that are not deals, they're just scams," said host Ranvir Singh on Friday's show.
Claer replied: "The message to get across is that social media and ticket sales are not a good look. There's lots of scams going on, the banks are all warning people to be wary of bot accounts on social media that don't have many followers but are following lots of people and offering tickets."
She concluded: "The key message here is stick to the official ticket resale site. Be very careful."
Good Morning Britain's Nick Dixon then appeared live from the Principality Stadium, where he shared an update on the arriving fans.
"Some of the more passionate fans with tickets have been queuing up at different sections of the stadium since yesterday," he revealed.
"Of course, they want to get in there as soon as the doors open at five o'clock and rush right to the stage."
Oasis will be supported by indie rock band Cast and The Verve's Richard Ashcroft in Cardiff, Manchester, London, Edinburgh and Dublin.
The tour is sold out, but the band has said that some additional tickets could be released.
In an Instagram post last week (June 25), the band advised members of Oasismynet to "keep an eye" on their inbox. The final releases would come "over the coming days" once production was "fine tuned", they said.

Strictly's Nadiya Bychkova gives huge love life update after Kai Widdrington split

Strictly's Nadiya Bychkova gives huge love life update after Kai Widdrington split Nadiya - who dated Kai for three years - told the Daily Mail's Eden Confidential column: "Look at me - being single is beautiful Nadiya Bychkova has decalred she loves being single - a year after her shock split from Kai Widdrington. The Strictly Come Dancing pros' fans were devastated when the pair announced their breakup in July 2024 - which was reportedly because of the pressures of working and touring with each other - but Nadiya, 35, insists she is happy and in a "really good place" being on her own. ‌ Nadiya - who dated Kai for three years - told the Daily Mail's Eden Confidential column: "Look at me - being single is beautiful. ‌ "I'm in a really good place and I'm really happy." Kai went Instagram official with his new girlfriend, executive assistant Chloe Wells in April, and he recently admitted to feeling the "happiest" he has ever been. In May, the 29-year-old star told Christine Lampard, 46, who was standing in as host on Lorraine Kelly's, 65, eponymous ITV1 magazine show: "2025 is the half of 10 years, I'm turning 30 in August, and as you said, things come at the perfect time. Article continues below "I feel very, very happy, and it's largely down to my other half as well." Even though Nadiya and Kai maintain their professionalism by working with each other on the hit BBC One Latin and Ballroom dancing show - they are not friends. She told The Mirror in October 2024: "We work together but we are not friends and that's OK. ‌ "One thing I can tell you is that when you see me dancing with him, it will be amazing because I'm a professional." Nadiya also told the Daily Mail that she is "tired" of the rumours that she and her 2021 Strictly dance partner, 48-year-old broadcaster Dan Walker, were more than good friends - despite Dan being happily married to his wife Sarah for over 20 years. Speaking about the gossip, Dan told The Sun in 2021: "The rumours about us were ... disappointing. I know these happen every year on Strictly, and there have been instances in the past of the so-called curse, and it's just telly. But it's just not nice." ‌ Dan also said he and Sarah used to joke about the infamous Strictly Curse - a phenomenon that sees individuals taking part in the show who are already in relationships end up finding a romance from the programme. He added: "When Sarah saw who I was partnered with, we had to have a laugh about it. "Obviously, you discuss those things, the curse, but it wasn't a lengthy discussion. I think we tried to make it light-hearted, to have fun doing it. Article continues below "But the first Monday I trained with Nadiya, she came around and had dinner with my family. We've been out four or five times to restaurants. "My family is really, really important to me and always have been and always will be. I didn't want them to feel excluded. "So no, being paired with Nadiya was never a problem. Friendship is a blessing. And I think from the moment we first met, Nadiya and I knew we were going to get on."

Oasis fans travel from Australia for band's first gig in 16 years

Fans waiting to see Oasis perform their first live show in 16 years have said they have been 'waiting for this day' all their lives and 'wouldn't miss it for the world'. Oasis will kickstart their long-awaited worldwide reunion tour in Cardiff on Friday. Brothers Liam and Noel Gallagher will perform together for the first time since their dramatic split in 2009, when they appear at the Welsh capital's Principality Stadium. Fans Lachlan Weekes and Jayden Helm, who spent more than a day travelling from Sydney, Australia, to attend the concert in the Welsh capital, were among fans gathering ahead of the gig. Mr Weekes said: 'We've been planning it forever. We always said that if they got back together, we'd be at that first show.' Mr Helm said: 'We've been lifelong fans – we're 22 and 21, so haven't really had a chance to see them before. 'We always said it was worth it to come, we wouldn't miss it for the world,' he added. 'To take time off work to come over here, it's more than worth it.' The pair also visited Manchester, where the band formed in 1991, stopping off at Heaton Park as part of their personal Oasis tour. Lawrence Evans, from just outside Swansea, said his 'life changed' when he started listening to the band as he then started to play music and write songs. He said: 'They were the band that made me realise how much guitar music meant to me. 'It's something that stays with you forever. If you get into this type of music, I think it's in your soul forever,' he added. His son Jimmy said of the concert: 'The fact that it's in Wales is really special for us. 'It's the first time I get to see Oasis, (my dad) he's lost count, he's seen them countless times. 'I've been waiting for this day all my life.' Alex Schuetz, an Oasis fan from Germany, said you could not travel far enough to see the band. 'The first time I saw them was in 1997,' he said. 'The last time was in Manchester 2009, just before they broke up. 'I even got a ticket for a small festival in Germany and on the ferry to that festival I heard they broke up. 'I was like, 'Oh my god' something was dying inside of me – it sounds a bit stupid, but it took me ages (to get over it).' He added: 'I've come from Germany. You cannot travel far enough, I've been a fan since 1995.' Glenn Moss, an Oasis fan from Essex who regularly gets mistaken for Liam Gallagher, said he started working as an impersonator ahead of the Britpop band's reunion, having previously been against the idea. He said: 'I get stopped all the time – as soon as I got here yesterday four people within five minutes stopped me asking if I was him or for a photo.' The brothers announced the Oasis Live '25 tour last August, starting with two dates in Cardiff on Friday and Saturday, before heading across the UK and Ireland. Doors are expected to open at 5pm, with Cast and the Verve frontman Richard Ashcroft in support. Former members of the group are expected to make a return, with Andy Bell on bass, and Gem Archer and Paul 'Bonehead' Arthurs on guitars. Noel was spotted getting off the train in Cardiff on Tuesday, while a drone display spelling out the band's name could be seen over the stadium on Wednesday. Fans across the city have also heard what they believe to be rehearsals in the Principality throughout the week. The reunion announcement came 15 years after Noel quit the Britpop band, saying he 'simply could not go on working with Liam a day longer', following a backstage brawl at the Rock en Seine festival in Paris. While fans have been pleading for the group to reunite since they disbanded, website issues and controversial dynamic pricing brought outrage, with many failing to secure a spot. After tickets for the UK and Ireland shows went on sale last year, some standard tickets appeared to have jumped from £148 to £355. The controversy prompted the Government and the UK's competition watchdog to pledge to look at the use of dynamic pricing. Following Cardiff, Oasis will visit Manchester's Heaton Park, London's Wembley Stadium, Edinburgh's Murrayfield Stadium and Dublin's Croke Park throughout July, August and September. The group will then head to Japan, South Korea, South America, Australia and North America. A movie, produced by Peaky Blinders creator Steven Knight, is being made in conjunction with the reunion tour. The rock band was led by lead guitarist Noel and his brother, lead vocalist Liam, during their 18 years together. Oasis signed to independent record label Creation Records in 1993, rising to fame with the release of their debut chart-topping album Definitely Maybe on August 29 1994. They had hits with songs including Don't Look Back in Anger, Champagne Supernova, Wonderwall and Live Forever. Dig Out Your Soul, the band's last studio album, was released in 2008, just months before the Paris row.
