Gwyneth Paltrow is Astronomer's ‘temporary spokesperson' in new video
With all this recent popularity, the business brought on some extra help, hiring a 'temporary spokesperson' with experience in Coldplay internet fame: Gwyneth Paltrow.

'I've been hired on a very temporary basis to speak on behalf of the 300+ employees at Astronomer,' the actress said in the minute-long video posted to social media Friday. 'Astronomer has gotten a lot of questions over the last few days, and they wanted me to answer the most common ones.'
The Goop chief executive happens to be the ex-wife of Coldplay lead singer Chris Martin and co-author of the original 'break-the-internet' breakup statement when the pair announced their 'conscious uncoupling' in 2014.
If you're searching for answers to the company's real frequently-asked questions, you won't find them in the tongue-in-cheek clip. The questions 'OMG! What the actual f' and 'How is your social media team holding' get comically cut off by Paltrow as she explained the much less juicy details of Astronomer's business.
'We've been thrilled so many people have a newfound interest in data workflow automation,' Paltrow said.
Astronomer's chief executive Andy Byron and human resources chief Kristin Cabot both resigned after they were filmed cuddling at a Coldplay concert in Boston earlier this month. They appeared on the arena video board in a 'kiss cam' segment before looking uncomfortable, with Cabot turning around and Byron ducking out of sight as Martin quipped from the stage that the two might be having an affair.
Mark Borkowski, a British public relations and crisis consultant, described using Paltrow to front a video parodying the incident as 'utter genius' that shows the company has a sense of humor.
'It's a savvy use of media to create a viral moment,' he told The Washington Post in a phone interview Saturday. 'In a way you're laughing with everybody else.'
Astronomer choosing Paltrow will not go unnoticed, Borkowski said.
'Astronomer is a meme now. Owning the ridiculous nature of how it became a meme is far better than apologizing for it.' A representative for Paltrow didn't immediately respond to a request for comment.
As for how he advises clients caught in such situations, Borkowski said acting in a dignified way and 'using as few words as possible' is always the best approach.
Paltrow's cameo is reminiscent of the scared Peloton wife discourse from 2019. After actress Monica Ruiz's worry-stricken expression in a Peloton holiday commercial became the butt of internet jokes, she laughed it off, later using her horrified face for an Aviation Gin ad.
'We will now be returning to what we do best: delivering game-changing results for our customers,' Paltrow closed out the ad. 'Thank you for your interest in Astronomer.'

He noted that investor attention is now centered on Judge Amit Mehta's upcoming decision on remedies in the search antitrust case, which is expected no later than August 8, 2025. While the exact nature of the remedy remains unclear, Anmuth believes the most likely outcome would involve a prohibition on exclusionary practices and exclusive preloading of Google Search across major access points such as Apple (NASDAQ:AAPL) devices, Android smartphones, third-party browsers, and Chrome in the United States. More punitive measures, such as banning all distribution payments, forcing a Chrome divestiture, restricting AI programs, or enforcing extended remedy durations, are considered less probable but remain on the table, per the analyst. Regardless of the outcome, Alphabet is expected to appeal both the August 2024 monopoly ruling and any associated remedies, potentially extending the regulatory process by 1.5 to 2.5 years based on historical precedent, such as the Microsoft (NASDAQ:MSFT) case, he noted. From a financial perspective, Anmuth projects that Alphabet could face a 5% to 10% headwind to GAAP EPS in 2026 if stricter remedies are enforced. The most exposed segments include U.S. Search & Other revenue, which the analyst estimates will reach $86 billion in 2026, accounting for roughly 78% of Alphabet's U.S. S&O segment, 35% of global S&O revenue, and 19% of total company revenue. He noted that related U.S. traffic acquisition costs (TAC) are expected to total $20 billion, or 18% of domestic S&O (Sales & Operations) revenue. Despite these risks, Anmuth considers Alphabet's second quarter a defining moment for the stock. He noted that Google Cloud revenue grew 32% year-over-year, significantly accelerating, while Search & Other revenue rose 11% excluding foreign exchange impacts. Excluding legal fees and one-time settlement costs, the company's operating margin expanded by approximately 150 basis points year-over-year, reflecting continued efficiency even amid a surge in AI-related capital expenditures, as per the analyst. Valuation remains a strong point, Anmuth noted. Alphabet shares are trading at roughly 18.3 times 2026 GAAP EPS and 16.3 times 2027 EPS, which the analyst sees as attractive given the company's growth prospects. For 2027, the analyst projects GAAP EPS of $11.89, which supports the firm's $232 price forecast based on a 19.5x multiple. Alphabet is ranked as the analyst's second-highest conviction pick behind (NASDAQ:AMZN), driven by several key tailwinds: sustained leadership in AI and generative search transition, healthy growth in core ad businesses such as Search and YouTube, accelerating demand and capacity expansion in Google Cloud, and improving margin performance despite increased capex and depreciation, he said. The neighbor called 911, leading local police to then discover Franke's 9-year-old daughter being held captive in a similar situation. Alzheimer's progression could be slowed by these changes to lifestyle
New research has highlighted how lifestyle can potentially delay the onset of Alzheimer's disease. The most common form of dementia, Alzheimer's impacts nearly 7 million Americans - and that number is projected to nearly double in the next 25 years. The neurodegenerative disease results in memory loss and the decline of other cognitive abilities. On Monday, two studies being presented at the Alzheimer's Association annual meeting have underlined the benefits of diet and exercise. One study shows that walking in particular helps to keep minds sharp by producing a protein called brain-derived neurotrophic factor, or BDNF. 'BDNF is like fertilizer for your brain that is naturally produced, especially when you are being physically active, such as when you are walking,' Cindy Barha, an assistant professor of neuroscience at the University of Calgary, told NBC News. 'It helps brain cells survive, grow and form stronger connections; this supports memory, learning and mood, especially in the hippocampus, which is the brain's memory center.' Walking has frequently been linked to lowering dementia risk, and those who walk more slowly could be showing early signs of the condition. One study involved 3,000 adults and found that those with a gene variant called APOE4 showed steeper declines in their cognitive abilities. Everyone is born with the APOE gene, which plays a crucial role in metabolism and brain function. A genetic test can reveal which variant you have, including one that reduces the risk of Alzheimer's and one that doesn't seem to affect the risk. APOE4, which is present in as many as 15 percent of people, increases the risk of Alzheimer's disease. Walking appeared to have the strongest protective effect on individuals with this gene mutation. The second study also found that people with the APOE4 variant could benefit more from lifestyle modifications. The 2,500-person study, which included more than 700 APOE4 carriers, had people exercise, undergo dietary counseling, and complete brain tests. Jenni Lehtisalo, from the Finnish Institute for Health and Welfare, told NBC News that there was about a four times greater benefit for those positive for APOE4. It's unclear exactly why these interventions are so effective for people with APOE4 or when they might be most effective, but the findings build on previous research showing promise in using exercise as a treatment for carriers, and to reduce dementia risk. Other studies have promoted a keto-based diet and additional nutritional approaches to benefit the brain health of these patients. On the other hand, consuming refined sugars and living a more sedentary lifestyle could hurt people with the gene, University of Southern California Alzheimer's researcher Hussein Yassine told Science. 'Modern day life does not work for certain individuals with APOE4,' he said.
