Fashion deal of the week
Fashion fans looking for a dress that will standout at all their summer events will need to hear about this one from Roman.
The high street chain's Royal Blue Rose Print Button Detail Maxi Dress, hailed as "perfect for the warmer seasons", is now on sale for £35 after being dropped from £48 - saving 27 percent overall.
With its "stunning" all-over rose print and modest midaxi length hemline, this particular frock will look perfect at any fancy occasions this season. Since it offers a bold design, we'd advise pairing it with nude-coloured heels and neutral accessories.
The flowy, comfortable woven fabric and short sleeves make it an ideal airy choice for when the temperatures rise again. It also features a chic V-neckline, alongside a shirred waistline that will 'cinch' in the figure for a flattering effect.
Complete with buttons down the front, the high street firm also advises pairing its £35 sale dress with a denim jacket on those summer days when the weather is a little bit chillier.
Beloved for its vibrant and bold style, one five-star review read: "One of the five-star reviews read: "This dress is amazing. I've had so many compliments.
"Lovely Silky material, floor length and such vibrant colours and so easy to just wash and wear. Suitable for weddings and occasions or just perfect for holidays and summer days. A real head turner... Love it."
Someone else added: "Another pleased purchaser wrote: "Just love this dress, lovely colours, beautiful material, perfect for my upcoming holiday."
Roman's Royal Blue Rose Print Button Detail Maxi Dress is just £35 in the sale now.
A small amount of customers have criticised the length of the trousers, with some finding that they are either too small or too long, depending on their height.
One shopper with this issue wrote in a three-star review read: "Lovely trousers, only problem they about 2ft to long and mega wide, no good for my height."
However, there wasn't a lot of criticism for the trousers, as another delighted shopper said: "Light weight material and true to size. Elasticated waist is comfortable."
New Look's Linen Blend Drawstring Waist Trousers can be bought for £26.99 online and in store now.

Mark Wright and Spencer Matthews lead the thigh-high men's shorts trend
This summer men's swim shorts are getting a thigh-high upgrade, with celebrities like Paul Mescal, Mark Wright and Spencer Matthews all spotted wearing the 'short shorts' trend Whilst women's swimwear trends tend to dominate our summer social media, there's another trend that's been quietly creeping up – and it's not the only thing on the up. The hemlines of men's swim shorts seem to be on the rise, with thigh-high men's shorts set to be this summer's go-to style for men everywhere. Inspired no doubt by Paul Mescal's viral off-duty outfits, more men than ever have been opting for shorter shorts, with a recent survey shared by high street fave Marks and Spencer revealing that 66% of men say they liked the 'short shorts' trend. Leading the way with the look is Mark Wright and Spencer Matthews, who both opted for a pair of M&S ' Quick Dry Plain Swim Shorts in a recent campaign. The new swim shorts are Marks & Spencer 's shortest ever swim shorts for men, although you can opt for short, medium and long versions too to get just the right length. The Quick Dry Plain Swim Shorts are also available in sizes XS to 3XL in all three lengths, making it easy to get the exact fit you want. In their campaign, Spencer opted for the bayleaf colourway, whilst Mark chose the shade brick. However there are plenty of other colourways to choose from – 12, to be exact – and at £15 each there's no reason you can't pick up a couple of different colours to see you right through your holiday. You can also pick up plenty of other colours with Nike's Core Swim Shorts, which are currently discounted at Sports Direct. Usually £29.99, they're now £25, and are also included in the two for £30 offer, meaning you can get two pairs for the equivalent of £19 each. ASOS also has a great selection of men's swim shorts, including plenty of thigh-high styles from brands like Calvin Klein and Paul Smith. There's also plenty of colours, prints and patterns The M&S Quick Dry Plain Swim Shorts come with Sun Smart UPF50+ protection to protect sensitive skin from UV rays, and have a quick-drying fabric which means no more sitting around in soaking trunks for hours on end or having to put damp ones back on the next day. They also have useful side pockets, a velcro back pocket and a drawstring waist for an adjustable fit. They're also fully lined, to keep you secure and comfortable. Although they're new on the M&S website, the Quick Dry Plain Swim Shorts have already racked up an impressive 4.7 star rating. One wrote: 'Worn daily for a week in Lanzarote. Great fit, fast drying. Happy days.' Another agreed: 'Just what required for my husband. Comfortable, quick drying and at a good price.' In fact the only real negative review stated: 'These swim shorts remind me of the 1960s when nylon was all the rage. I bought them for my disabled son but will be sending them back as I prefer something of slightly better quality for him.' Others loved them, however, writing: 'These swim shorts are a good fit at a great price. May buy another colour now.' And adding: 'Very nice shorts, fit well. Look and feel good. Great value for money.'

Zara McDermott launches new Rise SS25 collection with New Look - and we love it
Metro journalists select and curate the products that feature on our site. If you make a purchase via links on this page we will earn commission – learn more Zara McDermott has come a long way since she first graced our screens on Love Island in 2018. From hosting Love in the Flesh, to her own documentaries, and let's not forget her collaboration with New Look. Zara first collaborated with New Look and launched her own label RISE in 2024, which has gone from strength to strength. In just a matter of days Zara will debut her new spring/summer 2025 collection, which will drop on 3rd July – and the suspense is too much, or is it the heat? The RISE x Zara collection will be a mix of athleisure and summer styles, which is exactly what we need in this heatwave. But this collection will be unlike other RISE drops as it will feature new activewear silhouettes that are fashion forward yet functional. Some designs feature a cross hem such as the activewear top and the matching leggings, while there are also flattering and supportive racerback sports tops, and on-trend skorts. The range follows a playful colour palette that nods to the summer months, including butter yellow, sage green, as well as baby pink hues. While some tops feature a racerback, others have double straps or tie side fastenings, while the leggings boast ruching, which accentuates your assets (IYKYK). New Look has heard our cries for supportive activewear and coverage, which is why the new drop sees all active tops fitted with built-in supportive padding. But if you're not a fan of fitted activewear don't fret, the edit also includes boxy oversized shirt and short co-ords, as well as a matching scrunchie – who doesn't love a matching set? The collection will include premium quality fabrics, including the return of the butter-soft scuba material that many loved. If you are a devoted New Look shopper (like us), you'll know the affordable high street retailer prides itself on being an inclusive label. This is not lost on the new RISE x Zara McDermott collection as sizes range from UK 8 to 22 in store and 8 to 18 online. More Trending Not only is the collection stylish, practical, functional and inclusive, but it is also affordable with prices spanning from £22 to £45. Speaking about the collection, Zara said: 'I am beyond grateful and excited to be releasing a new collection of RISE with New Look. This is our third drop and it's our most vibrant yet! We've included some key summer colours like butter yellow, baby pink and sage green. Our iconic super soft scuba fabric is back in new styles, and we've added new cuts in our activewear to elevate the pieces, and we've also created some gorgeous striped shirt and shirt sets with a matching scrunchie, which is ideal for holidays, airport outfits and lounging! 'As always, this collection is so incredibly versatile, comfortable and wearable. I am so proud of how RISE as a brand is growing and I am so grateful to New Look for continuing to partner with us. I am looking forward to finally seeing this product in store and being able to shop in person too!' Whether you are entering your pilates, padel or marathon girl era, you want comfortable leisurewear to work from home in, or travel to the airport, there is something to suit every shopper's needs in this RISE collection.
