Veeam Advances Data Protection with AI-Ready MCP Integration
Veeam® Software, a global name in data protection, has introduced new AI capabilities. Announced at VeeamON 2025, the company now supports the Model Context Protocol (MCP), an open standard created by Anthropic.
With this support, AI systems can securely access backup data stored in Veeam repositories. This turns stored data into a valuable asset for AI-driven tasks.
According to Niraj Tolia, CTO at Veeam, the company is evolving from simply protecting data to enabling intelligence. Customers can now link Veeam-protected data with AI tools like large language models and vector databases.
This opens use cases such as searching documents with natural language, summarizing emails, automating compliance, and enhancing AI agents with enterprise data.
These updates show a shift in how businesses can use backup data. It's not just storage — it's a source of real-time insights.
Veeam's AI strategy is built on five pillars: infrastructure resilience, data intelligence, advanced security, AI-assisted admin support, and smart operations.
By supporting MCP, Veeam becomes a key connection between secure data and AI platforms. It allows faster, easier access to structured and unstructured data across the business.
Future releases of Veeam Data Cloud will include full MCP support. This simplifies AI integration and adds more value to data protection investments.

Claudia Brings User-Friendly GUI to Claude Code
Claudia, a newly released open‑source graphical user interface for Anthropic's Claude Code, brings a visually intuitive layer to the traditionally command‑line driven tool. Developed by YC‑backed Asterisk, this desktop application enables developers to manage projects, run interactive AI agents, and track progress—all through a local, privacy‑focused interface. The interface addresses growing frustrations among developers using Claude Code's text‑only environment. Asterisk's design employs Tauri for cross‑platform deployment, along with React, Rust, and Tailwind CSS for responsiveness on macOS, Linux and Windows. Its key functionalities include session history navigation, branching checkpoints, custom agent creation, and real‑time analytics—all critical improvements over the linear CLI workflow. Security and data control are central. Agents run in sandboxed processes, with filesystem whitelisting and network constraints to protect user environments. The local‑first philosophy ensures all data resides on the developer's machine, removing cloud‑based privacy concerns. Customisable security profiles and violation monitoring further enhance trust and transparency. ADVERTISEMENT Session time‑travel functionality allows users to create and revert to checkpoints, much like Git branching, simplifying experimentation and version control. This, paired with an integrated Markdown editor, offers a unified environment for coding, documentation and analysis. A real‑time dashboard displays token usage, cost metrics and session statistics, helping developers monitor API consumption efficiently. Claudia complements recent enhancements to Claude itself, including the Artifacts feature that enables code generation and shareable AI‑powered applications, and Claude Code's improved agentic capabilities. While Anthropic's platform now supports no‑code app building and complex workflows, Claudia enriches the experience for developers by offering offline, granular control over agentic coding sessions. The open‑source aspect draws attention. Hosted on GitHub, Claudia invites community involvement—developers can inspect the code, submit enhancements or customise features, aligning with open‑source principles valued in AI tooling. Executables are pending, but the tool is already buildable from source across all major desktop platforms. This launch fits a broader trend: as AI‑driven coding tools proliferate, demand grows for interfaces that balance power with usability. Unlike fully autonomous coding systems, Claudia augments developers' workflows, offering transparency, control, and adaptation to personalised needs. In comparing it to comprehensive IDEs like Eclipse Theia—which supports AI plugins and LSP integration—Claudia occupies a specialised niche focused specifically on Claude Code, agent orchestration, and local security. Early feedback on social channels reflects enthusiasm. Reddit users highlight its ability to tackle 'terminal chaos' and bring session management to Claude Code. A spirited open‑source community contributes via issue reports and architectural suggestions, indicating strong potential for rapid iteration and enhancement.

Dubai-Based idea-L® Raises $1M in Oversubscribed Pre-Seed to Launch AI-Powered Cofounder Platform Across the Middle East.
idea-L® , the artificial intelligence (AI) and Web3-powered platform that turns ideas into investor-ready ventures, and potential into progress, announces the close of an oversubscribed $1 million pre-seed round. The round, secured from a wide syndicate of investment angels, encompasses capital injection in the Holding Company and for the idea-L overall Project, as well as valuable 'to be unveiled' partnership contributions. These funds will accelerate technical hiring, prime the launch of the firm's governance token, GovToken, alongside a world-leading DAO-managed deVC Fund™, and expand the i-Luminary™ mentor network. Headquartered in Dubai, idea-L® is strategically positioned at the heart of the Middle East's thriving innovation economy. The region's push to lead in AI, decentralised finance, and entrepreneurship makes it an ideal launchpad for idea-L®'s vision of democratising venture creation. 'We want every would-be founder to carry a supportive, tireless, data-driven co-founder in their pocket,' said Peter Goodwin, CEO and Founder of idea-L®. 'We want to create an experience that costs minutes, not months.' At the centre of idea-L® is the Idea Realisation Platform™ (IRP™), your co-founder in your pocket. It's an AI-powered system that removes the guesswork and gives every founder a path forward. Users can begin with fast-Feasibility™, a rapid validation tool that blends structured datasets with generative AI to provide instant clarity on potential. From there, LIVE-Feasibility™ offers deeper, real-time insight into market conditions, competition, and operational risks, with the option to add human calibration through teamLIVE-Feasibility™, an advanced layer designed for founders preparing to scale or fundraise. Once an idea shows signal, the IRP™ activates full execution mode, charting a personalised roadmap, triggering behavioural nudges, and unlocking access to the IFP™, where funding is proposed, voted, and allocated by GovToken holders. This first round of funding fuels the imminent private beta of idea-L®, anchored in fast-Feasibility™. Additional components, including LIVE-Feasibility™, teamLIVE-Feasibility™, the full IRP™, and the IFP™ funding engine, will roll out progressively by year-end. This staged launch allows idea-L® to deliver immediate value, while continuously evolving the platform through real user feedback. 'We watched brilliant people walk away from great markets because their idea-to-launch costs were too high,' said Goodwin. 'By automating the riskiest slice of the journey, we unlock thousands of experiments that would otherwise die in someone's notebook.' idea-L® leverages best-in-class AI technology, including reasoning-led LLMs in both multi-model and multi-modal contexts, while actively developing proprietary workflows across logical reasoning, probabilistic programming, inference, and evolutionary learning. 'Our aim is to expand applied business theory across product categories, industries, and geographies. Ultimately, we envision large language models making up no more than 20% of our total AI architecture.' said Daniel Muller, speaking on idea-L®'s long-term product vision. A fair-launch sale of GovTokens is set for Q3, 2025. Once live, token holders will exercise quadratic voting over roadmap features, funding allocations, and ecosystem partnerships — effectively turning the user base into the platform's governing body. The same token steers idea-L®'s forthcoming deVC Fund™, an evergreen pool that backs graduates of the IRP™ and aligns incentives between validators, founders, and capital contributors.
