Muhammad Ali's younger brother Rahaman has passed away at the age of 82, the Muhammad Ali Center has announced. Rahaman died on August 1 after battling an illness, having spent the final weeks of his life in a hospice in his hometown of Louisville.
"You can't tell Muhammad's story without mentioning Rahaman," DeVone Holt, President and CEO of the Muhammad Ali Center, said. "He was one of the most constant sources of support for Muhammad during this career and their relationship was a true example of what it means to be 'my brother's keeper.'"
Rahaman was also a professional boxer and had a 14-3 record, retiring from the sport in 1972 after he was knocked out by Jack O'Halloran. Rahaman would regularly spar with his brother and Muhammad's daughter Hana spoke of their "extraordinary bond" in an emotional tribute to her uncle.
"Today, the last living member of my father's immediate family returned to heaven," Hana wrote. "My Uncle, lovingly known as Rock, was a sweet, gentle soul with a heart as big as the world.
"He had that same sparkle in his eye that my father had… that same light, that same mischief, that same love. They were close their entire lives, brothers by blood, but friends by choice. Even as children, their bond was extraordinary. "My father loved his brother like he was his own child. I can just picture them now, reunited in heaven… playing Cowboys and Indians with the broomsticks they used to find in Mama Bird and Papa Cash's closet.
"Daddy always insisted on being the Cowboy, and Rock the Indian. Or maybe they're back to one of their favourite games, Daddy convincing Rock to throw actual rocks at him so he could prove how fast he was by dodging them.
"Whatever they're doing up there, I know it's full of joy, laughter, and the kind of brotherly love that helped shape our family. Uncle Rock had a heart of gold.
"He never needed a spotlight to shine, and I believe that now, from above, he and Daddy are part of something bigger… something beautiful… something meant to help heal this broken world.
"God bless you, Uncle Rock. You will be missed. You will be forever loved. And when my time comes, I hope you and Daddy will both be there, waiting to welcome me home."

Graham Potter gives update on Lucas Paqueta's future as betting charges dropped

West Ham and Brazil star Lucas Paqueta has been cleared of allegations of breaching the FA's betting rules and Hammers boss Graham Potter has broken his silence on the midfielder's future West Ham boss Graham Potter believes Lucas Paqueta remains committed to the Hammers in the aftermath of his betting charges being cleared. The Brazilian midfielder was charged with allegedly breaching FA rule E5 in 2023. ‌ He was accused of spot-fixing matches by getting booked. But he has since been proven innocent following a lengthy investigation. ‌ During the process, the former Lyon midfielder was linked with a move away from the London Stadium - Brazilian side Flamengo having emerged as potential suitors for Paqueta. Asked about the 27-year-old's future, Potter did not rule a move out entirely but believes that the midfielder remains committed to West Ham. ‌ He said: "You never know for sure because anything can happen in the window with anybody. But the news is incredibly positive. If it had gone the other way, there would have been a whole other line of questions. "Lucas is happy and committed. He is an important person in dressing room and at the club and we love him. We just want to help him enjoy his football. "You can imagine on a personal level for him, having to fight those allegations was an incredible challenge for him. It has been a really tough period in his life and career. It is a credit to him and his family and everyone who has supported him that he has come through." Paqueta issued a statement in the aftermath of the FA's decision. He wrote: 'Since the first day of this investigation, I have maintained my innocence against these extremely serious accusations. 'I can't say anything more at this time, but I would like to express how grateful I am to God and how eager I am to return to playing football with a smile on my face. To my wife who never let go of my hand, to West Ham United, to the fans who always cheered me on, and to my family, friends and the legal team who have supported me – thank you for everything.' ‌ Paqueta was signed from French side Lyon back in 2022 for a fee of around £51m. Since then, he has made 120 appearances for the London outfit, scoring 18 goals, while he also helped the Hammers win the Europa Conference League in 2023. He still has two years remaining on his contract with West Ham with the option for a further year. Paqueta was strongly linked with a big-money move to Manchester City in 2023 but saw a move shelved. A photographer inside Moor Lane snapped a stern Neville watching the game through a window on Saturday afternoon. The Man Utd legend looked downtrodden as he rested his hand on the glass with his eyes fixed on the action. With his hand spread out, Neville had five fingers pressed against the window - and this prompted a bit of fan from Crewe's social media admin. Sky Sports issue apology after triple blunder in first half of new EFL season

The EFL roared back into life over the weekend with a host of matches broadcast live to fans on Sky Sports but it wasn't a straight forward few days for the broadcaster Sky Sports were forced to issue an apology to EFL fans after THREE major errors on the opening weekend of the season. League One and Two returned across the weekend to signal the start of the 2025/26 professional league season. ‌ There was drama right across the divisions - but it appears that also spread to the Sky Sports studio having offered live coverage of the opening weekend. Among the games that they covered on Soccer Saturday was Plymouth Argyle 's opening League One clash against Barnsley following their relegation from the Championship last season. ‌ But things got off to a bad start after Julian Warren threw over to pundit Jamie Mackie after being led to believe that Caleb Watts had given Plymouth the lead. But the strike was ruled out for a foul in the build-up. ‌ There was then another howler as Warren claimed that there had been another Plymouth goal, only to find out it was indeed a Brendan Sarpong-Wiredu own goal to put Barnsley ahead. Warren said: "Goal for Plymouth, we have heard this before. Does this one count, Jamie Mackie?" Mackie then replied "It is a Plymouth player that scored... but it is at the wrong end,' despite the scoreboard graphic claiming that Plymouth were in the lead. That was then quickly changed, with Warren adding: "It is Barnsley who are in front. Apologies for the slight moment of excitement for you Plymouth fans, only to find out you're behind." Sky then made it a hat-trick of errors as Adam Phillips doubled the lead for Barnsley. But Sky Sports issued a correction claiming that the game was still 1-0 to the Tykes. Warren hilariously said: "I think the vidiprinter might still be on holiday, lying on a lounger with a couple of pina coladas." ‌ There was no drama throughout the second half, albeit supporters still took aim at the channel for other changes. Their decision to change their scoreboard graphic was one of those slammed. One fan said: 'This new sky sports scoreboard graphic is horrid.' A further viewer wrote: 'What in God's name have sky sports done to the scoreboard,' while another added: 'New sky sports scoreboard for efl is horrid.' There was also criticism during Cardiff 's opening day win against Peterborough after fans pointed out that the channel decided not to show the amount of stoppage time during the game. One fan said: 'I don't really have any issue with the new Sky Sports scoreboard but what I can't get onboard with is them not showing the added time,' with another adding: 'Why don't @SkySportsPL @SkySports @SkyFootball show how many minutes added on anymore on the scoreboard??'
