
2 planes collide near Steinbach in southern Manitoba
The fire chief for the Rural Municipality of Hanover, southeast of Winnipeg, said there was an incident involving two aircraft around 4:45 p.m.
RCMP confirmed that and said officers are currently on scene.
No information has been provided about any injuries or whether the planes were in the air or on the ground at the time.
It is also not clear where in the RM of Hanover the crash occurred.

She was able to text her son throughout the ordeal and he decided to wait for them at the bottom of the building. Article content A CN Tower spokesperson confirmed there was an elevator delay from The Top on July 15. A safety sensor was triggered at 8:42 p.m., per the statement. Throughout the delay, the spokesperson said that the security team maintained contact with the guests and gave them updates. Article content 'An elevator technician was on-site at 9:15 p.m. and the elevator guests were safely unloaded at 9:19 p.m. After investigating and confirming there was no safety issue, the elevator returned to service approximately 45 minutes later,' the statement continued. Article content 'Our team welcomed guests back to the Main Observation Level, apologized for the delay, thanked them for their understanding and made every effort to ensure they felt acknowledged and supported. While some guests left before we could speak with them, we've made efforts to follow up with them to hear about their experience and ensure their satisfaction.' Search underway for missing boater off Labrador coast
A search and rescue effort is underway for a missing boater off the east coast of Labrador, a Joint Rescue Coordination Centre spokesperson told CBC News on Tuesday. The missing boater is aboard a 20-foot sailboat, with a last reported position — from one week ago — estimated to be 296 kilometres, or 160 nautical miles, off of Cartwright. The JRCC said the sailor had been updating friends and posting on social media about the trip. The last time they were heard from was on Thursday. A Hercules aircraft was deployed from Trenton, Ont., and the Canadian Coast Guard sent vessels to the area to participate in the search. PAL aircraft are also helping in the search. The JRCC said the person is from Tadoussac, Que., and sailed out of Blanc Sablon with the intention of reaching Greenland. No other details are available.
