Cristiano Ronaldo 'urges Al-Nassr to raid Real Madrid for Arsenal target' as 40-year-old's club eye Saudi title bid
Ronaldo recently signed a new contract with Al-Nassr, who finished third in the most recent edition of the Saudi Pro League.
Meanwhile, Rodrygo has three years left to run on his current deal in Madrid but he has been heavily linked with a summer departure.
Arsenal have been cited as his most likely destination should he leave the Bernabeu, but Ronaldo is said to be leading calls for him to join Al-Nassr instead.
According to Sky Sport, Al-Nassr chiefs have contacted Rodrygo's entourage after Ronaldo singled out the Brazilian as a priority target.
Rodrygo, 24, has been with Madrid for six seasons and has scored 68 goals in 269 games for the Spanish giants.
But he has only been selected as a starter once in Madrid's first five matches under new manager Xabi Alonso, who is rumoured to be willing to sell him this summer.
Arsenal and Al-Nassr are both in the market for attacking reinforcements.
Liverpool's Luis Diaz and Gunners wideman Gabriel Martinelli are also believed to be on Al-Nassr's shortlist of targets.
Diaz appears set to stay at Anfield, while an Al-Nassr move for Martinelli would seemingly be much more likely were Rodrygo to move to north London.
Ronaldo, 40, has extended his Al-Nassr contract until June 2027. He will be hoping to win the Saudi Pro League title before that contract expires.
The former Madrid and Manchester United star has ended each of the last two Pro League campaigns with the Golden Boot.
However, Al-Nassr finished 13 points behind champions Al-Ittihad last season, having been 12 points short of unbeaten 2023-24 table-toppers Al-Hilal a year earlier.

Man Utd 'pull plug' on big-money Amazon documentary due to Ruben Amorim
Manchester United had been in talks of have their own 'All or Nothing' series filmed by Amazon but Ruben Amorim is against the idea and club bosses have now said no to the deal Manchester United have backed out of having their own documentary filmed by Amazon as Ruben Amorim fears it could become a distraction. The Premier League giants had been in discussions for months about having their own 'All or Nothing' series. Already Manchester City, Arsenal and Tottenham have had their own fly-on-the-wall documentaries filmed, but it requires the club opening up their doors, which their head coach wasn't willing to allow. It is understood Amazon were prepared to pay £10million to gain access but the man in the dugout hasn't pulled the plug on the deal, which had been in the pipeline. Amorim was the driving force behind saying no after the concept was put to him. It was discussed during a meeting of the club's executive committee, who were all united in backing the manager's stance and no documentary will now take place, according to reports. Other factors like the nature of the commercial agreement were cited as factors, as reported by the Telegraph. Amorim knows he is under pressure to produce results and having the cameras up close and personal may not aid his cause. He has a shocking record since taking charge, which led United to post their worst ever Premier League season as they finished down in 15th. The Portuguese boss needs a big pre-season - on and off the pitch - if he is to turn things around. He knows that a slow start will only add pressure. Having cameras inside the dressing room for potentially defining moments is ideal for broadcast, but unlikely to be high on Amorim's wish list. There was a financial motive to having Amazon involved with the club making no secret of their need to consider the balance sheet. A post-season tour to Asia was almost solely financially driven and the extra cash could've eased any pressure, but they will now do without the streaming service's money. The previous docs that have been made it the past have had to cover the sacking of Mauricio Pochettino at Tottenham, which led to Jose Mourinho's return to management. The series on Arsenal began with them sitting bottom of the league as some fans turned on Arteta. It also leaves the club - and certain individuals - open to very public criticism as their methods and reactions to instances during the season are broadcast for the world to see. United's hierarchy would also have need to be visible and potentially explain some of their less popular decisions. Arsenal prepare to announce third deal as new Viktor Gyokeres meeting emerges
Arsenal are working hard to try and close a significant deal for Sporting Lisbon's Viktor Gyokeres but the Gunners also want to strengthen in other areas this summer Arsenal are up and running in the summer transfer window - and even bigger deals are in the pipeline following the unveiling of Martin Zubimendi over the weekend. The Gunners have paid Real Sociedad around £55million to sign the talented playmaker, who becomes the club's second summer signing after Kepa Arrizabalaga. With talks advancing with Sporting Lisbon over Viktor Gyokeres, more good news for Arsenal fans could be just around the corner. Gyokeres has emerged as Arsenal's top striker target this summer but further reinforcements in other areas are still wanted. That includes in midfield, where the Brentford captain, Christian Norgaard, is poised to follow Zubimendi through the door. Here, Mirror Football rounds up all the latest transfer news from in and around The Emirates... READ MORE: New Gyokeres meeting Andrea Berta, Arsenal's new sporting director, is understood to have flown to Portugal towards the end of last week in order to hold face-to-face talks over a deal for Viktor Gyokeres. The Gunners are in talks with Sporting Lisbon over a £70m transfer for the Sweden star, who has been linked with a move to the Premier League for months. He is now Arsenal's priority target in their search for a new No 9 despite interest in Benjamin Sesko. And BBC Sport say Berta travelled to Portugal for further talks with Sporting as both clubs work on a deal. Gunners to announce third deal Arsenal are poised to confirm the capture of Brentford captain Christian Norgaard in the coming days. News of an agreement with Brentford for Norgaard broke last week with the Dane set to bolster Arsenal's options in midfield alongside fellow newcomer Martin Zubimendi. And The Standard report that Norgaard's move from Brentford - thought to be worth around £15m - is on track to be completed shortly. Arsenal work on Eze deal Arsenal are working on a payment structure which would help them land Eberechi Eze from Crystal Palace as they prepare to launch an official bid for the attacking midfielder. The Independent report that the Gunners are trying to put together a package that will enable them to sign Eze, who favours a move to The Emirates if he is to depart the FA Cup winners this summer. Eze has a release clause in his contract and Arsenal want to pay three instalments of around £20m to their Premier League rivals.

Eze makes decision over Arsenal transfer as Liverpool consider hijacking move
Eberechi Eze's preferred club has been revealed after Liverpool entered the race to sign the top Arsenal target. The England international has emerged as a hugely attractive player this summer following an incredible season for Crystal Palace. He produced 14 goals and 11 assists in 43 appearances, including the winner in the FA Cup final against Manchester City which secured the club's first ever major trophy. Both Manchester United and Tottenham had long-standing interest in the attacking midfielder but have pulled out of the race to focus on other targets, namely Matheus Cunha, Bryan Mbeumo and Mohammed Kudus. That has cleared the way for Arsenal to swoop in and sign up Eze, who was released from the Hale End Academy at the age of 13. However, as the Independent report, there are two major obstacles in the Gunners' way. Firstly, Palace insist that their talisman will not be sold for anything less than his £68million release clause – £60m up front and the rest in add-ons. Arsenal have it in their budget to make two massive signings and a number of small purchases like Kepa Arrizabalaga and Christian Norgaard. With Martin Zubimendi and a new striker – very likely to be Viktor Gyokeres – their marquee signings, Mikel Arteta will need to sell off some players first before he can think about Eze. Moreover, personal terms have been agreed with Noni Madueke and with Chelsea wanting £50m for the winger, a deal for the Eagles star becomes even trickier. Secondly, it is said that Liverpool are now considering whether to make a move for Eze having kept tabs on him for a while. The Reds have already spent close to £200m this summer, over half of which on attacking midfielder Florian Wirtz, and are also very interested in signing Palace captain and centre-back Marc Guehi. No club has made a 'concrete approach' to Palace yet, but the good news for Arsenal is that Eze's preference is reportedly to join the Emirates should he leave Selhurst Park this summer. The Gunners are also working on a proposal that would see them pay the release clause in three £20m instalments, which would negate the need to make a major sale. More Trending It remains to be seen how Eze would fit in Arteta's team given his best position is in attacking midfield which is currently occupied by Arsenal captain Martin Odegaard. He can be deployed on the left-flank but would face competition from Gabriel Martinelli and Madueke, should he complete the transfer. If he were to move to Anfield, his first match in red could see take on his former club with Liverpool facing Palace in the Community Shield on August 10.
