Dawn Staley Doesn't Hold Back About Indiana Fever Star
Dawn Staley has built a dynasty with the South Carolina Gamecocks. She has had many amazing players come and go in recent years. One of those players is none other than Indiana Fever star and former No. 1 overall pick Aliyah Boston.

Alongside Caitlin Clark, Boston has helped the Fever become a potential WNBA championship contender. She has been a perfect running mate for Clark, but she's also putting up the kind of numbers that could well place her in MVP contention.
That is a point that Staley was sure to make on social media recently.
In a post on X, Staley did not hold back her thoughts about Boston. She made it clear that she believes her former player is a legitimate candidate for the WNBA MVP award.
"Can you spot the @WNBA MVP candidate?!! If you need some help it's @GamecockWBB @aa_boston!!" Staley wrote.

Throughout the course of the 2025 WNBA season thus far, Boston has produced at a high level. Clark has missed time due to multiple different injuries, which has caused made Indiana need Boston to step up even more.
She has played in 20 games, averaging 16.2 points per game to go along with 8.1 rebounds, 3.7 assists, and 1.1 blocks. In addition, Boston has shot 58.1 percent from the floor.
At 23 years old, Boston's WNBA career is just getting started. She has plenty of room to continue growing her game. Her relationship with Staley and what she learned during her time at South Carolina is something that Boston has been very open about.

It will be interesting to see what Boston is able to do down the stretch this season. The Fever have yet to find a good rhythm together. Hopefully, that will change and Indiana can make a deep run in the postseason with Boston and Clark leading the way.

Pacers' Johnny Furphy throws down dunk of the Summer League in wild poster over Noa Essengue
The NBA's Summer League in Las Vegas is just getting started, but Johnny Furphy has already laid claim to what should easily go down as the dunk of the event. Furphy, after weaving his way up the court in the second quarter of the Indiana Pacers' matchup with the Bulls, cocked back and threw down a wild one-handed slam over Chicago rookie Noa Essengue on Monday afternoon at Cox Pavillion in Las Vegas. The replay and photos that came out of it were somehow even better. Essengue was taken by the Bulls took out of France with the No. 12 overall pick in the draft earlier this summer. He didn't stand a chance on the play. Advertisement Furphy is fresh off his rookie season in the league last season with the Pacers, who he helped reach the NBA Finals. After being selected with the No. 35 overall pick out of Kansas in the 2024 NBA Draft, Furphy averaged just shy of eight minutes per game last season for the Pacers. He averaged 14.3 points in the 10 games he played with their G League affiliate, too. Furphy had 11 points at halftime on Monday night. He finished with 15 points and shot 5-of-9 from the field in the Pacers' 114-105 loss to the Bulls. Essengue finished with 21 points for Chicago. While there is plenty of time left for someone to go after the 'Dunk of the Summer League' title, Furphy has set the bar incredibly high. That poster, which Essengue somehow already found himself on the wrong side of, is going to be very hard to beat.
