
Conference on cognitive health and purposeful longevity at JSS AHER in Mysuru from July 10
Organised by the School of Public Health at JSS AHER in collaboration with the JSS Medical College, the two-day event aims to promote cognitive wellness and inclusive ageing among diverse populations. Over 250 participants from across the country are expected to attend, the organisers said at a press conference here on Tuesday.
The conference will feature five international experts from the University of Georgia, Ohio University, Oklahoma State University, and Birmingham University, along with 17 national experts representing institutions such as NIMHANS, AIISH, JSS AHER, and others.
The inaugural event on July 10 from 10:30 am to 11:15 am will be attended by Radha Murthy, president, Dementia India Alliance; Deepti Navaratna, T.V. Raman Pai chair professor, National Institute of Advanced Studies (NIAS), and Rajani P., Deputy Director – Mental Health, Directorate of Health and Family Welfare, Government of Karnataka.
The scientific programme will include keynote addresses, research presentations, panel discussions, and solution showcases covering topics such as dementia care innovations, hearing rehabilitation, cognitive neuroscience, as well as assistive technologies, mental well-being and social inclusion, and community-driven approaches to healthy ageing.
JSS Medical College principal Narayanappa stated that the conference seeks to redefine longevity by focusing not just on lifespan, but also on meaningful living, social connection, and improved quality of life.

Over 43,000 Telangana candidates qualify NEET UG 2025 Telangana NEET rank list 2025: The Kaloji Narayana Rao University of Health Sciences (KNRUHS), Telangana, has released the rank-wise list of NEET UG 2025 qualified candidates from the state. The data, based on information received from the Director General of Health Services (DGHS), Government of India, reflects the details of aspirants who selected Telangana as their domicile in the NEET UG 2025 application conducted by the National Testing Agency (NTA), New Delhi. According to the official release, a total of 43,400 candidates from Telangana have qualified the NEET UG 2025 examination. Conference on dementia, cognitive health begins
Mysuru: A two-day international conference titled CogniSENSE+ 2025 focussing on the congregation of scientific disciplines working in areas related to dementia awareness, healthy ageing and cognitive health began at JSS Hospital on Thursday. The event brought together experts, researchers and policymakers from India and abroad to address the growing global challenge of cognitive and sensory decline and the urgent need for integrated public health strategies to enhance and ensure quality of life among the elderly.
