NFL community unites around Eagles SB champion battling a rare form of cancer
The NFL community rallies around Bryan Braman as he battles a rare form of cancer. No Philadelphia Eagles fan will forget where they were when Meek Mill's voice blasted through U.S. Bank Stadium's speakers. On a February night in 2018, Super Bowl LII saw the Eagles take the field after being introduced as the NFC's representative. Those watching on television saw a close-up of the dude with the long braid down to his belt. That was Bryan Braman. He was part of an Eagles team that helped deliver the City of Brotherly Love its first Vince Lombardi Trophy. Years later, he's battling a rare form of cancer. He is also the recipient of an outpouring of love that has helped remind us again why we cheer for some of these guys. The NFL community rallies around Bryan Braman KPRC in Houston was informed by Braman's agent, Sean Stellato, that Braman is "in the fight of his life." J.J. Watt, a teammate of his when they both played for the Houston Texans, donated $10,000 as a show of support. More recently, former Eagles star and FS1 mainstay Emmanuel Acho spoke up. After hearing the news, he took to his X account to show support and awareness. According to Braman's GoFundMe page, one set up by his friend, William Jones, the former Eagle underwent a "CAR-T cell reprogramming treatment program in Seattle." As of July 3, $32,000 had been raised. Braman, a former 2011 undrafted rookie free agent, spent the first three years of his career with the Houston Texans. After that, he landed in Philadelphia for the first of two stints with the Birds. Those years built bonds and relationships. In addition to J.J. Watt's contribution to his former teammate's treatment, Braman has also received donations from former Texans teammates Duane Brown and Brian Cushing. Former Eagles have also shown up to support. Brent Celek and Rasul Douglas are two of them. Seeing the love shown reminds us that these guys represent more than Madden ratings and Fantasy football points. They're real people. That's why stories like these are so much fun to write. Stories like these remind us why we cheer for these guys. Here's a tip of the cap for an NFL community that has bonded together to support one of their own.

Jason Kelce slammed for 'tone deaf' Fourth of July post after 'big, beautiful bill' signing
Jason Kelce was just like plenty of Americans on the Fourth of July, taking in some of the best fireworks. However, when the Philadelphia Eagles legend took to social media to celebrate, he was met with plenty of vitriol. "Man I love the 4th! One of the great days we all can set aside our differences in this country, and enjoy the one thing we all share in common. That we are American! Cheers to you oh beautiful America," Kelce wrote in an Instagram post of a video of some fireworks. Almost immediately, he was ripped in the comments. Kelce's post came hours after President Donald Trump signed the "big, beautiful bill," which seemed to be the catalyst for the backlash in the former NFL player's comment section. "Set aside differences? One party wants to feed children. The other wants to feed brown people to alligators," one person wrote. "Unfortunately Jason this is not real life for many. They signed the worst bill for so many Americans today just to rub it in our faces. I know it's hard to understand, but so many will suffer," another added. Another user called his post "tone deaf." "love u bud but this is so out of touch, i beg you please read the room rn. so many are suffering," added another. One more user said there is "nothing beautiful about this country right now." The post had over 2,000 comments at the time of publishing. His three previous posts combined for just over 1,000 comments. The Kelces have normally been silent about their political beliefs, but Travis Kelce's girlfriend, Taylor Swift, endorsed Kamala Harris for the 2024 presidential election. Car fire may disrupt journeys to Timberlake gig
People heading to a music festival headlined by Justin Timberlake have been warned to expect travel delays due to a car fire. Crews were called to the blaze at about 18:35 BST, near the Tesco roundabout on the A131 at Great Notley in Essex. The fire affected about 400 yards (365m) of surrounding grassland, temporarily closing the road in both directions, a spokesperson for Essex County Fire and Rescue Service said. Up to 25,000 people are expected to watch artists at Chelmsford City Live throughout the weekend. Timberlake is due to headline the event at Chelmsford City Racecourse on Friday; Duran Duran top the bill on Saturday, and Olly Murs is due to headline on Sunday. At 20:15, a stretch of the southbound carriageway was still closed. Follow Essex news on BBC Sounds, Facebook, Instagram and X.
