Woman shares 'easy method' to get free things at Wimbledon like strawberries

Daily Mirror11-07-2025
A woman who attended Wimbledon 2025 has shared how she managed to get free goodies including strawberries and cream, ice cream, a tennis ball and more, without having to spend a penny extra for it
Wimbledon 2025 is currently serving aces in London, maintaining its prestigious reputation as one of the globe's top tennis tournaments. With a line-up of international stars hitting the courts, the competition remains a hit among both locals and tennis enthusiasts worldwide.
While soaking up the atmosphere at Wimbledon isn't cheap – with Centre Court ticket prices kicking off at £70 and potentially rocketing to a steep £240 for finals seats – thrifty tennis fans can opt for Ground Passes. Priced from an affordable £15 to £27, these passes grant you entry to all courts except Centre Court and Courts 1-4. Due to high demand, tickets are dished out via a public ballot to keep the process as fair as possible.

For those who've spent their cash on their tickets to the event, the prospect of spending more on food and merchandise might not be ideal. Luckily, there's a way to grab lots of goodies for free if you know where to look.

One savvy woman named Kaya took to TikTok to share how she managed to get herself a list of freebies at the event, including the iconic strawberries, exclusive merch and a branded Wimbledon tennis ball – all without splashing any cash.
"Here's everything I got for free at Wimbledon 2025," Kaya said in her video, which showed her indulging in some juicy strawberries before diving into her haul of complimentary goodies.
Free Spin the Wheel try with prizes
Kaya's first tip for those feeling lucky is to swing by Champion's Corner where all Barclays cardholders have a chance to win big by spinning the wheel.

"At the Champion's Corner, as a Barclay's card member, you can play Spin the Wheel," she explained. "And, if you're lucky, you can win one of the many prizes, which actually includes Babolat rackets - how cool."
Holding up a keychain with evident delight, she shared: "I managed to get this keychain, which I was actually super happy about as I was genuinely going to buy it. So thank you Barclays."
Free postcard

For fans wandering the grounds awaiting the next match, Kaya revealed that free postcards are available, which is perfect for collecting players' autographs.
"You can also pick up a postcard and stand at the viewing platform, where you can watch the players train for their matches. And, if you're lucky, you may get to meet them and get stuff signed," she said.
"I was incredibly lucky to meet who I met," she continued. "However, nothing is guaranteed, and please be respectful to the players and their time. They are not obligated to stop."

Free strawberries and cream
A quintessential Wimbledon experience, strawberries and cream is famously linked with the tournament, something the club itself celebrates as "a true icon of The Championships."
A tasty treat awaits those with a Barclay's account at Wimbledon, as Kaya shared how to bag free strawberries and cream. "You can also get free strawberries and cream if you have a Barclays account," she shared, detailing the process: "So you just have to go to your app and get a QR code to scan - there you go."
As she got her own free strawberries, she shared: "I went for the plant based [cream], obviously. They were so good. Although it's literally just strawberries and cream. But it was really nice and free."

Free ice cream and keychain
Adding more sweet deals to the experience, Kaya highlighted how American Express members are in for an cool treat during the hot final days of Wimbledon. To grab a free ice cream, simply follow her tip.
She shared: "From the Champion's Corner, if you head towards the hill and up the stairs to the Amex experience, as an American Card Express member, you can get a free ice cream. This was vegan and it was really nice."
There's also a bit of fun to be had, courtesy of American Express, where games played may reward you with an exclusive keychain.
Free Wimbledon tennis ball
And for tennis-themed memento, Kaya showed off her Wimbledon 2025 tennis ball, revealing she got it for free just by being an Amex member.
"And also, down in the Southern Village, you can actually pick up a free Wimbledon tennis ball. American Express themed, obiviously," she said as she showed the green tennis ball with "Wimbledon 2025" written on it, along with American Express being written underneath.
And, since the last few days of Wimbledon coincided with the summer's third heatwave, Kaya was chuffed to bits after snagging a free, and very handy, paper fan outside Southfields station - not to mention grabbing a copy of the Esquire newspaper too.

Taking to TikTok Lateisha explained that every six to eight weeks, she takes out her braids, and sends them to one specific customer. She said that people always assume that this man must be "old" or "weird. However, she described him as a "regular road man" in his twenties. Explaining what the man wants the braids for, Lateisha revealed: "He smells the braids and does his business." The TikToker revealed that she knows some people are attracted to the smell of unwashed hair, although she added that this is not a scent that pleases herself. "Because my braids are attached to my head, and they are in for so long, they have the unwashed hair smell", she said. Lateisha added that people always ask her whether she is concerned about pieces of her real hair getting mixed in with the braids she sends to the stranger. However, she said that this doesn't bother her as "he's not a serial killer, and he's not going to plant me at a crime scene." In a second video, Lateisha showed herself packing up the hair, and writing a "cute" card to send to the man.
