Marquez on cloud nine with ninth sprint victory of season at Dutch GP
Ducati's Marc Marquez won the sprint at the Dutch Grand Prix on Saturday despite starting fourth on the grid, taking the lead on lap one to clinch his ninth sprint victory of the season ahead of his brother Alex of Gresini Racing.
Aprilia's Marco Bezzecchi came third for his first sprint podium since 2023 while pole sitter Fabio Quartararo of Yamaha crashed with four laps to go.
Marc extends his lead in the championship to 43 points over Alex going into Sunday's race while Ducati's Francesco Bagnaia, third in the championship, could only manage fifth place behind VR46 Racing's Fabio Di Giannantonio.
The victory will give Marc a huge boost of confidence after he crashed twice in Friday's practice, as he seeks a first race win at Assen since 2018.

We didn't concede a single chance, but then in the second half, maybe because of the results, Inter Miami created more chances and got us into trouble," he added. With Flamengo or Bayern Munich awaiting in the quarter-finals, Luis Enrique pivoted back to the task at hand. "We have to stay focused," he insisted. "Holidays and next season are not things I'm interested in right now. We have to think about recuperating and preparing for the game in the best possible conditions."

England deliver statement 7-0 win over Jamaica in final Euro warm-up
LEICESTER, England :England issued a statement of intent ahead of the Women's European Championship, demolishing Jamaica 7–0 at home in their final pre-tournament friendly on Sunday. The reigning European champions dominated from start to finish and although Jamaica had an equaliser ruled out for offside, Sarina Wiegman's side controlled the match, pushing to settle the game before halftime. Ella Toone opened the scoring, followed by a headed goal from Lucy Bronze, before Toone again scored deep into first-half stoppage time at Leicester's King Power Stadium. The onslaught continued after the interval, with Georgia Stanway adding England's fourth just before the hour mark, followed by Alessia Russo making it five in the 71st minute. With five minutes to go, Aggie Beever-Jones added the sixth before Beth Mead capped the rout with a seventh in the dying moments. "We enjoyed that game today. A lot of goals and a clean sheet. It's nice to send ourselves off to the Euros," Toone told ITV. "We've got a talented squad and we'll step out and give the nation our all." Wiegman said her side had produced a "good performance". "We expected to be in the final third a lot so we wanted to show what we could do," she said. "It was nice to score seven goals though there were times when we played an extra pass. Overall I'm really happy with the performance." England begin their Group D campaign against France on July 5, followed by games against Netherlands and Wales. The tournament runs from July 2-27.

Norris showed his character after Canada, says Stella
SPIELBERG, Austria :McLaren team principal Andrea Stella praised Lando Norris's character as the Briton bounced back from a collision and race retirement in Canada to lead home a McLaren one-two at the Austrian Grand Prix on Sunday. The Italian said Norris still needed "to polish a few things" to become the finished article, however, in a Formula One season that is turning into a two-horse drivers' title chase with team mate Oscar Piastri. Norris had to fend off the Australian to set up Sunday's victory two weeks after his clash with his team mate forced him out in Montreal. "The outcome (in Canada) was unfortunate because Lando could not finish the race. That was simply a misjudgement. The way Lando handled that, I think showed the character," said Stella. "The speed is there - Lando pole position in Monaco... he was the faster car in Canada, pole position in Austria. "We just have to polish a few things in executions and results which is what Lando demonstrated today. So, very proud of Lando, very proud of how everyone handled the situation in Canada and the fact we end up united and stronger." The runaway constructors' championship leaders avoided another on-track accident, with Piastri delivering a mea culpa over team radio after the chequered flag following a near collision. "There was only one situation where the two cars ended up a little too close and that was in turn four when Oscar locked up and he ended up very close to Lando," said Stella. "We gave Oscar this feedback and I want to acknowledge that I am proud of Oscar. As soon as he crossed the finish line he went on the radio and he said sorry for the situation in turn four. "I am so refreshed by how the team reviewed the situation in Canada. We have come out stronger and even more united." Norris's win cut the gap to Piastri at the top of the drivers' standings to 15 points ahead of a home British race next weekend. Norris, seven times a race winner, has yet to take back-to-back wins in the same F1 season but Stella expects him to rectify that. "In terms of Lando being able to do so, yes, of course," he said. "There is absolutely no reason why not - the talent, the quality, the race craft and even the trajectory Lando is in.
