The Traitors on Prime Video: Who is the new traitor and was the recruitment a mistake?

Time of India2 days ago

The Traitors on Prime Video has quickly become a fan-favorite, thanks to its gripping format, constant twists, and a cast full of bold personalities like Sufi Motiwala, Harsh Gujral, Purav Jha, Uorfi Javed, and more. The tension continues to rise with each episode, keeping viewers hooked as alliances shift and suspicions grow. With the latest episodes now streaming, all eyes are on the newly recruited Traitor, but was bringing them in a smart move, or a costly mistake? Let's take a closer look.
The Traitors on Prime Video: Who is the new traitor?
After Elnaaz Norouzi was voted out and identified as a Traitor during the Circle of Shaq, only Purav remained in the game as a Traitor. According to the show's format, when there is only one Traitor left, they must blackmail an innocent contestant to join the Traitors' team and if the offer is rejected, the innocent is eliminated immediately. Purav chose to send the invitation to Harsh Gujral, who accepted it. Thus, the newly recruited Traitor is Harsh Gujral.
Was recruiting him a big mistake?
Well, Purav seems to think so and so do we because Harsh could no longer behave the same way he did as an innocent after being recruited as a Traitor. His actions gave him away on several occasions, and judging by how the latest episode ended, it appears he received the most votes during the Circle of Shaq, even Purav voted against him. However, we haven't been shown whether he's actually out of the game yet. That said, it definitely feels like Harsh wasn't the best choice for recruitment, and someone else might have been a better pick.
What do you think?

Sanvikaa Speaks About Her 'Unsaid Chemistry' With Jitendra: 'We Don't Talk Much, But…'

Sanvikaa, known for playing Rinki in Panchayat, discussed her bond with co-stars Jitendra Kumar, Neena Gupta, Raghubir Yadav, and reflected on her unexpected rise post Panchayat. Pooja Singh, who goes by her stage name Sanvikaa, has quietly but powerfully etched her presence in the hearts of viewers with her portrayal of Rinki in Prime Video's Panchayat. As the series continues to trend, News18 Showsha exclusively caught up with the actor for a candid conversation on her bond with co-stars Jitendra Kumar, Neena Gupta, and Raghubir Yadav, how life has changed since Panchayat happened, and her cinematic dreams. Sanvikaa and Jitendra Kumar, who play Rinki and Sachiv ji respectively, are adored by fans for their innocent love story and cute chemistry. Describing her on-screen bond with Jitendra, Sanvikaa shared, 'I think it's a very unsaid chemistry between us. It's give and take – we don't talk much, just the basics. But we understand each other while performing." She added, 'We don't rehearse too much either, just align before the take. Jeetu is a very supportive co-actor. He gave me the space to feel comfortable, never made me feel like a newcomer. That calmness between us translates on screen." When asked about her working equation with veteran actor Neena Gupta, who plays her on-screen mother, Sanvikaa smiled warmly. She revealed that the veteran actor is as colourful off-camera as she is on her social media. 'Yeah, she's like that – just like her social media presence! She enjoys acting, dressing up on sets. She's a very joyful person, but at the same time, she's quite strict. So, everyone is careful when she's around. But she always speaks up when there's a problem, and people respect her for that." She added, 'My chemistry with her has grown with each season. I've said this before – she's a little protective of me. I've seen instances where someone's being rough or pushing me around, and she'd take a stand for me. That's her way of showing love." Talking about working with Panchayat's endearing Pradhan ji aka Raghubir Yadav, Sanvikaa shared, 'He's one of the most joyful people I've met. Even today, if you meet him, he'll make you feel like he's known you for years. He's full of warmth." She laughed and continued, 'He keeps running around, cracking jokes, singing, and reciting poetry when he's bored. His energy is infectious, and I feel very fortunate to be around him." She plays the actor's reel daughter in Panchayat. We asked Sanvikaa if she is like Rinki in real life. 'I do relate to Rinky to some extent," she admitted, further saying, 'Like her, I'm also shy and strong-headed. But we're also quite different. Rinky is still finding her voice and depends on her parents for many things. I'm self-driven – I can find my own way, I speak up when something's wrong." With conviction, she added, 'People say I do 'bhagavat' (rebellion), but I just speak my mind politely. I always give chances, but when things cross a line, I have to stand up fiercely." Sanvikaa didn't come from a film family, and her journey into acting was far from conventional. Reflecting on her unexpected rise post-Panchayat, she told us, 'I'm genuinely grateful. I always knew I'd do something big, earn well, build a life – but this love? This was unexpected. From kids to 80-year-old dadis – everyone connects with Rinki. That's a huge blessing." As the conversation headed towards her career, Sanvikaa lit up while talking to us about her dream collaborations. She said, 'I really want to work with Mani Ratnam sir and Sanjay Leela Bhansali sir. Bhansali sir has this grand, poetic way of portraying women – it's like painting frames. I want to be a part of that." Her list didn't stop there. She continued, 'Zoya Akhtar, Anurag Kashyap, Shoojit Sircar – there are so many directors I admire." But when it comes to her co-actor, she said that she can't pin-point on one name. 'There's no specific wishlist. I adore many, but if I get to work with someone who is a good person, that's enough for me," the Panchayat actress said, signing off. First Published:

The Traitors: Anshula Kapoor Reveals She Was Diagnosed With PTSD After 'Traumatising' Show

Last Updated: Anshula Kapoor has raised concerns about the mental repercussions of participating in Karan Johar's show. Entrepreneur Anshula Kapoor has become a fan favourite on the reality OTT show, The Traitors. Hosted by Karan Johar, The Traitors is an Indian adaptation of the globally acclaimed series of the same name. The series features 20 celebrity contestants, including Anshula, who participated in the show for a grand prize. However, the deception and anxiety-inducing environment of the show have caused Anshula to develop mental health issues. Anshula Kapoor told The Quint, 'Living without communication with the outside world for the entire duration of the show was extremely difficult." She described the show as 'stressful" and 'traumatising". Anshula mentioned that she said yes to the show as she was told it 'would be akin to the original format, but that's not what it ended up being". She added, 'It was not about filming long hours, but about the conversations and atmosphere of the house… There were no intercoms in our room. They had blacked out our room numbers, so we didn't know our own or anyone else's room number. They had placed wind chimes outside our room door, and if you opened the door when you weren't supposed to, someone would come and tell you not to leave your room." Anushula revealed she developed major anxiety on the show. She said, 'I had to go back into intensive therapy after the show, and I was diagnosed with Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder." She claimed she did not have PTSD before participating in the show. Anshula mentioned that she isn't the only contestant who is dealing with mental trauma after the show. Previously, Anshula took to her Instagram to reveal how the production managed to keep secrets during filming. She said, 'There was so much secrecy. We weren't told who our fellow participants would be. When we were flying from Bombay also to shoot for this, I think Elnaz, Ashish ji, Sufi, and Jannat were on my flight. To keep it as secret as possible, even during the check-in process at the airport, we were given different slots. We were given a 'shadow'—our own personal valet." She further added that the makers ad even divided the 20 participants into two different hotels when they were first staying in. Two days before the filming, they were all sent from Jodhpur to Jaisalmer. 'And this hotel—while we were getting checked in—they literally were like, 'Okay, you'll have your phone for like three hours more, and then tonight somebody's going to come.' Not just phones, all the electronic equipment—they were taking it all. But it was all about isolation, because they didn't want us to form alliances outside the show," she said. Anshula further said that while each episode of The Traitors is only about an hour long, the contestants were shooting for 16 to 18 hours a day. The Traitors made its grand debut on Prime Video on June 12 at 8 PM. The show released the first three episodes on launch day, and new episodes continued to drop every Thursday at 8 PM. The finale of the show will premiere on July 3. Meanwhile, season 2 of the show has already been confirmed. First Published:
