Fat Joe sued for $20M over alleged abuse and trafficking by former hypeman

Express Tribune20-06-2025
Grammy-nominated rapper Fat Joe is facing a $20 million federal lawsuit filed by his former hypeman, Terrance 'T.A.' Dixon, alleging years of sexual abuse, coercion, and exploitation—including alleged involvement with underage girls.
Filed in the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of New York, the 157-page complaint accuses Fat Joe, born Joseph Antonio Cartagena, of 'coercive labor exploitation, financial fraud, sexual manipulation, and psychological control.'
Dixon claims he was forced into over 4,000 sexual acts over a 16-year period under threats of abandonment, humiliation, and financial retaliation.
The lawsuit further alleges Fat Joe engaged in sexual acts with minors as young as 15, flying them across state and international lines, and even funding plastic surgery for one girl. Dixon claims these abuses occurred with the knowledge of Fat Joe's associates and sometimes under surveillance or in corporate-owned properties, including yachts and mansions.
Also named in the suit are Fat Joe's associates Pete 'Pistol Pete' Torres and Richard 'Rich Player' Jospitre, along with Roc Nation, which Dixon accuses of aiding in concealing royalty fraud and silencing his claims. The charges include violations under civil RICO, the Trafficking Victims Protection Act, and various state laws.
Fat Joe's attorney, Joe Tacopina, dismissed the lawsuit as a 'blatant act of retaliation,' claiming Dixon is attempting to deflect attention from a separate defamation lawsuit the rapper filed in April.
Represented by attorney Tyrone Blackburn—also leading a high-profile case against Sean 'Diddy' Combs—Dixon insists he's seeking justice after years of abuse and suppression.
This case could be one of the most serious and high-profile legal battles in the music industry to date.

Nicki Minaj throws shade at Megan Thee Stallion amid legal setback in cameraman lawsuit

Nicki Minaj appeared to throw subtle shade at Megan Thee Stallion after a federal judge ruled that a lawsuit filed by Megan's former cameraman, Emilio Garcia, would proceed. The lawsuit, which alleges that Garcia witnessed Megan engaging in a sexual act with another woman while inside a moving SUV in Ibiza during her 2022 tour, will move forward despite efforts by Megan and Roc Nation to dismiss it. The judge determined that the claims were plausible enough to continue the litigation, especially the assertion that the incident created a hostile work environment based on Garcia's sexual orientation. In response to the news, Nicki Minaj took to Instagram with a cryptic post that many interpreted as a reference to the situation. The post, filled with Bible references and mentions of divine retribution, seemed to hint at the legal troubles surrounding Megan. 'What was the name of that law again????????? Karma's Law? Touch not my anointed law? Vengeance is the Lord's law?' Minaj wrote. She went on to add, 'We give God the glory & he's only just begun,' before finishing with a sarcastic note, 'More money for me. We're working. Trust.' The timing of Nicki's post stirred social media, given the longstanding tension between the two artists. Last year, Megan released the song 'Hiss,' which many believed contained indirect shots at Nicki, leading to Nicki's response with 'Big Foot.' The exchange marked the beginning of a cold war between the two, with their ongoing feud now drawing attention amid Megan's legal issues. As the lawsuit progresses, fans are left wondering if the tension will escalate into new music, more public exchanges, or perhaps even a courtroom showdown.

50 Cent mocks Diddy over disturbing allegations in new lawsuit

50 Cent has once again mocked Sean 'Diddy' Combs after a bizarre lawsuit surfaced, accusing the mogul of a disturbing act involving a shirt once worn by The Notorious B.I.G. The lawsuit, filed by an anonymous plaintiff known as John Doe, claims Diddy engaged in inappropriate behavior during a 2020 encounter in Los Angeles, which allegedly included masturbating into Biggie's shirt and tossing it onto the plaintiff. The lawsuit alleges that the incident occurred after Doe attended a listening session for an unreleased Biggie project, where he was reportedly pressured by Diddy to take ketamine. The session took place at a warehouse where Biggie's personal clothing was stored. While alone with Diddy, Doe claims the mogul was watching pornography on his phone before allegedly committing the lewd act. According to the lawsuit, Diddy then threw the semen-covered shirt onto Doe's lap and said, 'RIP Biggie' before walking out of the room. The plaintiff is suing for sexual battery, emotional distress, and other related claims. 50 Cent, who has long been critical of Diddy, didn't hold back in his response to the allegations. While on tour in Europe, the rapper posted a screenshot of the lawsuit on Instagram, mocking Diddy with a caption saying, 'Man got damn it, enough is enough.' 50 Cent has previously taunted Diddy, calling him "the gay John Gotti" and making several jabs at the mogul's behavior. The lawsuit adds to Diddy's ongoing legal battles, which follow his partial acquittal in a high-profile RICO case earlier this year.

Jessie J confirms no cancer spread after mastectomy and prepares for second surgery

British singer Jessie J has offered a hopeful update on her cancer journey, revealing on social media that there has been no spread of the disease. The update comes just weeks after she announced her breast cancer diagnosis and underwent a mastectomy in June. In a heartfelt Instagram post, Jessie J shared a video recorded the night before her surgery, captioned with emotional gratitude: 'AND. I AM OK. Results = I have NO cancer spread. Happy tears are real.' She also expressed thanks for the overwhelming support she's received, writing, 'Thank YOU for the prayers, the love, the well wishes, the joy and all the positive energy.' The singer, who had her initial surgery on June 23, noted that while more healing is ahead—including one more procedure to achieve symmetry—she is focusing on gratitude for now. In her typically candid tone, she joked about her recovery by calling herself 'The LopJess monster.' Jessie had previously sparked hope among fans when she shared a message shortly after surgery suggesting her cancer was 'all gone,' but later clarified that she was still awaiting formal results. 'The journey of cancer isn't that simple unfortunately,' she explained at the time. In the days leading up to her surgery, Jessie also addressed fans directly during a major performance. During her final pre-surgery show at Wembley Stadium, the Grammy-nominated artist became emotional, telling a crowd of 75,000 fans that she was preparing to 'beat breast cancer.' She dedicated the moment to her son, partner, parents, and supporters. Jessie J has long been open about her health struggles, including past diagnoses of Ménière's disease, miscarriage, and mental health conditions like OCD and ADHD. Her transparency continues to inspire fans as she faces this new chapter with resilience and optimism.
