Bayern say Musiala faces long period out with fibula fracture and ankle dislocation

The Guardiana day ago
Bayern Munich have said Jamal Musiala faces a 'lengthy' recovery from a leg fracture after his collision with Paris Saint-Germain's goalkeeper Gianluigi Donnarumma at the Club World Cup.
Bayern said on Sunday that Musiala had flown back from Florida to Munich that morning for surgery on the injury the attacking midfielder picked up in Saturday's loss to PSG in the quarter-finals.
Bayern said doctors found Musiala 'sustained a fracture of the fibula [a bone in the lower leg] associated with an ankle dislocation'.
The Bayern board member for sport, Max Eberl, said in a statement: 'This serious injury and the lengthy lay-off are a real shock for Jamal and us all. Jamal has just come back from an injury and will now be out for another long period. He'll get everything he needs from us. We'll support him intensively, be by his side and already look forward to when he's back on the pitch.'

Horse racing tips: ‘He looks sure to score at his beloved track' – Templegate's NAP unstoppable on Tuesday

TEMPLEGATE tackles Tuesday's action confident of building the bank for the Newmarket July Festival. Back a horse by clicking their odds below. TIME PATROL (7.12 Brighton, nap) He can notch up yet another win at his beloved Brighton. Tony Carroll's five-year-old has landed three victories from four visits to the seaside and came home quickly when just denied here last time. The handicapper has left his mark alone and he takes a drop in class which can get him back to winning ways. He gets on well with today's rider Jack Doughty and decent ground is ideal. CRYSTAL MER (8.30 Uttoxeter, nb) He looked a cut above when bolting up over course and distance last month and can strike again under champion jockey Sean Bowen. The six-year-old powered clear with loads in hand that day and still looks well treated for Hughie Morrison who rarely misses when targeting these races. That was his debut for the yard and there's a lot more to come. SHADY BAY (7.42 Brighton, treble) She caught the eye with a five-length win at Nottingham last time out. She showed a blistering turn of pace there and clearly enjoyed dropping to this distance. She is back out quickly under a 5lb penalty and has a big chance of following up under Hollie Doyle. COMMAND THE STARS (4.25 Lingfield, Lucky 15) He showed bundles of promise on debut and then absolutely bolted up at Beverley, pulling four lengths clear despite still running green. That performance marked him out as well above average and this step up to 7f is sure to suit given his stout Sea The Stars pedigree. Estevao Willian snubs Chelsea offer and reveals what Cole Palmer told him after netting against the Blues in Club World Cup quarter-final

Incoming Chelsea wonderkid Estevao Willian turned down an offer to continue his Club World Cup journey with his new club after his current side were dumped out of the competition by his future one. The 18-year-old, who netted for Palmeiras in their 2-1 last-eight defeat, will complete his move to the Blues later this month. The meeting of the two sides put the teenager in a unique win-win situation, a reality quickly manifested in the offer from Cole Palmer to link up with the Blues squad as they made their way to New York for their semi-final clash against Fluminense. But after enlisting the help of fellow new recruit Dario Essugo, whose linguistic skills deciphered the Mancunian accent Palmer's English invitation was delivered in, Estevao declined and insisted that he needed to say a proper goodbye to his soon-to-be former colleagues. 'I had to ask Essugo what Cole had said to me,' said Estevao. 'He laughed a bit before translating, telling me "Cole said he's excited for you and want you to come with us after the game".' 'I wanted to stay some more time with my team pals,' he added. 'I came here with them. And I should go back to Brazil with them. My heart is broken because only we know how hard we worked. 'But I leave with pride. And I am happy to have a giant club as Chelsea opening its doors to me. 'I just wanted to show my new fans in England who I am. That it is all. I hope to learn. I am sure I come to London to evolve, and to make history there too.' After Saturday's match, Chelsea boss Enzo Maresca spoke glowingly of the winger, teasing an 'important' role for him. 'You can see he is a huge talent,' Maresca said post-match. 'You can see he is a fantastic player. The only thing now is when you come from South America or another part of the world to Europe you need to adapt. 'We are going to help him to adapt and first of all to enjoy football. We don't have any doubt, as he is so good, that he is going to be an important player for Chelsea.' Palmer made a point of embracing Estevao and swapping shirts with him after the final whistle, despite the language barrier. 'I told Estevao we are excited for you to join but he didn't understand a single word I said,' Palmer said. Chelsea struck a deal to sign the prodigy last year but he stayed in Brazil for one more season, and his talents were on show as he was named the player of the match against his future employers. He will shortly join up with their first-team squad. Estevao was, however, visibly emotional after bringing the curtain down on his time at the club which first thrust him into the spotlight.

They include Loris Karius' wife Dilette Leotta, Giusy Meloni, Marialuisa Jacobelli, and Eleonora Incardoni, whom Maceri named specifically. The criticism comes after Maceri published her new book - "F*** Female Empowerment: The Great Mistake of Modern Feminism". In the book she writes: "Personally, I would say that the way female reporters present themselves on the sidelines in Italy is sometimes borderline. "I think women should be sexy, but always with style and class. That's sometimes lacking in Italy. Here, the principle that sex sells applies strongly." Maceri, 31, then doubled down in an interview with Bild, slamming Incardoni for "vulgarity". She told the German outlet: "If you want to speak on an equal level with players and officials, it's not conducive. "Incardona mainly deals with DAZN BET – meaning she presents the betting odds. And she does it very sexy. Sometimes vulgarly." Incardoni has stunned in America with her outfit choices. The 34-year-old wore a bra and three-piece suit for one match, and wowed over the weekend in a one-strap brown dress.
